Hello PAF! This is my first post here! One of my Soc mates brought to my attention that a link to the guide which I edit had been posted here, but it was out of date, so below is the current version for your personal amusement and I hope delight Entropia Guide Ver4.0 published on 01 July 2015 Ver 4.0 of the Guide includes updates on Calypso TP runs and some details on Vehicles and makling a first small deposit. I'm still looking for some additional content related to Ark, you don't need to be a great writer or even have good English skills, as long as I can understand what it is you are trying to explain, I can help. So if you are interested in assisting with this community project pls PM me or email richard.dirk.tomlin (at) gmail (dot) com. At present I would like material on the following: ARK TP Runs Explanation of the ARK Instances How Keys work Anything you think might be relevent Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your day! Dirk
Nice that the guide keeps getting worked on. Great to have an up-to-date guide to refer newcomers to. Once there will be more information available on other planets; they'll hopefully get a separate chapter, instead of an 'annex'? I have no time atm to write up the whole thing, but a few tidbits are: About the Ark New Player Experience: only new Arkadian born avatars can do those starter missions, since the last VU. (So avatars born on other planets can only finish these missions, if they already initiated them before the last VU.) They also will get the Arkadian Passport for free. Anyone who wasn't born on Ark after the last VU, will have to 'bribe' the immigration guy with 10k bottles of sweat to get it. (Passport NPC is at the New Player Arrival Hangar.) The Passport is needed to start the IFN Recruitment mission chain, which continues with the exploration and explanation of Arkadia. It has low level mob missions, with nice ammo rewards. IFN Recruitment can be started by talking to the recruitment officer at Windy Isles @ 8coins, with the Passport on you. Once finished, you will be assigned to a Firebase, and be given the rank of IFN Private. You'll receive an IFN uniform and access to the IFN Daily Oratan missions, which lets you climb the IFN ranks further. After finishing the Starter and Recruitment chains, go to Celeste Quarry: the building above has 3 NPC with Mining/Armour missions. Next to the terminals is an IFN terminal: take all the missions from it, and from the ACA Lady NPC standing next to it. Those are all the (hunting) missions available on Ark (not counting the Keys), so there is no need to go search for mission NPCs. (There is an IFN terminal at most Firebases, and some other TP's.) Threads with information about the ingredients and locations of Aakas Keys and the Treasure Maps (for the Sal'diresh Vaults in AU). For the Ark history and back story: the Arkadian Storyline can be downloaded in pdf. ps. A small warning for new avatars doing the NPE: When doing the mining mission at 8 Coins, try to avoid the Pandi as much as possible. They'll likely demolish your new Hoverpod, since they manage to 'hobble' along surprisingly fast. Those Pandi are the only 'too high' level mob that you'll encounter during the Starting missions, and hopefully it will be corrected in a future VU/Update. But for now "forewarned is forearmed". (Also, it's a non lootable PvP area now.)
Thanks May for all that extra Info, I'll make sure Dirk knows about all of it. Yes, I'm the guilty party that told Dirk about the link someone (May or Lizzy or Sally, can't remember which) posted in the New Player Discussion area to the Guide that TKoE put together. I just hope that new players read and use all the good info that's there, play smart, and have FUN!
Wasn't me. I post other stuff like my Character Blog, and excel sheets that probably make people think I'm nuts. I have been thinking myself to make a little guide for Arkadia, but with school and mob farming I have little time to do it. Thumbs up for the OP for posting the revised guide.
Is it This Guide you are referring to? It's in the Tutorials subform, just like this thread. It was Sally who posted it.
ah, ok... thanks Wournos... actually, what I was referring to was her link that she did in a new player's "Hi There" thread. but I see now that there's a spot for it of it's very own... thanks for straightening me out on that...
