As a service to all our new players I've smuggled several crates of Calypsian trade terminal laser pistols to Arkadia. Now, I know what you're saying... everybody says the arkadian guns are more efficient than the calypsian guns, and that's true... but not when you're overkilling (using a full 185 or 280 ammo to kill a mob with just a sliver of health left). This classic gun is ideally suited to small mobs such as Carabok and the small jori and halix. And they excel as a finisher for some of the larger mobs and maturities too. As a new player, you should stick to Carabok for a while. This gun is also great for putting the Carabok out of their misery after you have extracted all their vibrant sweat. The M2100 is cheap, uses only 100 ammo per shot, does damage of 2-4 hp, has a skill increase bonus, and is unlimited (it won't break). It's the ideal starter weapon. Actually, a FoP ("Fresh onto Planet") ava should use a Kiwio MkII (L) until next lvl gun - rifle or handgun - is at least 90% maxxed. It is the most eco weapon to start using at 1st. But good old Caly TT HG is cool to have hanging around months/years after. Hell, I still use mine. Tippin'
The problem with the Kiwio is it doesn't last very long... The M2100 will last forever.. Also, the Kiwio used to use Rookie Weapon Cells.. which you could only get on Calypso.. With recent changes, I'm not positive that's the case anymore.. Anyone on Caly to confirm that's still the case? EDIT: Confirmed with soc member that Kiwios do still use Rookie ammo.. therefore they are not worth importing.. You'd have to import the ammo as well.
Yeah, I can confirm the kiwios use rookie weapon cells. They may be available in space station TTs, tho I didn't look for them specifically. Edit: Rookie equipment is not available in Station TTs
