Well it's been a good few months since I was on Arkadia, I have spent the summer on Calypso grinding those LT's through the summer migration. I was hoping I might hit a HOF on them even a small one, but the critters weren't playing ball. I did get a nice 900 + ped on an Atrox young that I wasn't expecting - I got bored to the LT one day and thought I would do a few atrox and bam 900 ped then another 400 ped on them in the next 10 minutes, it always happens when you least expect it. Anyway after skilling up some MF this year I was checking my professions and noticed that my melee was falling behind my other hunting skills. So I did short blades for a coupl of months and finally turned my attention to the longblades. A week's skilling with the Ancient Greece TT weapons took me level 13 and I bit the bullet and purchased a Kulohar Glacier Sword which seems to be the first UL SIB longblade after the TT weapons. I admit I paid slightly over the MU for this but I lost the auction on the first one I bid on and they dont come up that often so I snapped it up for the BO. The idea was to complete my Argo 10K and some other grinding missions at that level. Around the same time I also purchased an Elder coat and I have always wanted a Tiarak Hide coat but wasn't happy with the prices on the cognac, TT value is too high for my budget. So I had a word with my friend DJ Izzy (blatant plug here for his shows on Atlas Haven Radio) He told me all the resources needed and how many to texture this coat 100% in all three fields, so I jumped in the Quad and flew over to Arkadia. My plan is to grind them Tiaraks with the sword until the sword is maxed and I have the resources to have the coat textured. The results have been great, I admit I started with sword just when I hit the bottom of the SIB ladder but I have been using it in conjunction with the skill pills that I got with the gold starter pack. In 4 charges of the sword (100 ped a charge) I have gone from 77% to 89% on the weapon. Loot has been great I am already over 10% of the way to obtaining the required resources to texture the coat in just 3 days, I have had 5 globals and a rare item HOF. The HOF shocked me and disappointed at the same time. In 3 years I have only heard that noise solo hunting 3 times. The first 2 on Atrox young and the third yesterday on a Tiarak (cant remember the maturity as I was just grinding for skills) HOF damn I thought rare item wow, turns out it was Corvus Arm Guards (UL) and (F) to boot so I can't even wear the damn things myself, a quick check showed the value at around TT +10, incidentally they are for sale if anyone wants them PM me in game Charlie Moondog 1969 - I am on most days. This morning I was up early and had half an hour before leaving for work so I went on a quick hunt and managed 46 ped and 38 ped, including an attack chip and Piron pbr 12. It's great to be back on Arkadia after my break and I am going to keep at the Tiarak for 2 charges a day on the sword, the rest of the time I will check out some old favourites, Togolossi, Scoria, riptor and my nemesis the Korwil, I need to find a good medic to see if I can finally solo one of the big cats. I will be on Arkadia for a while so if you know me say high and even if you dont say high as well.
Nice story, and welcome back to Ark. Probably too late to help now, but you could have skilled up on a few MAKO Blizzard 1 (L), as it fits nicely in the SIB gap just before the Kulokhar. Good luck out there!
