Just been up in space after the update. Safe zone round Moon now, and Leaving Ark puts you in the SS safe zone. Distance between Moon safe zone and SS is 0.9 AU Distance between Moon Safe zone and Ark entry is about 0.9 AU I had a run in with a pirate and there isn't enough time to get from SS to Moon safety If you try to run direct. However you can approach the Moon from any direction. With the removal of landing fees I think this might be a lot of fun.
Now, if you are spawning in a different place every time, this will make it a much harder hunt for the pirates..
Aye logging in to see, it sounds like they've added a typical safe zone/spawn point, and maybe smaller than usual since the moon hasn't been that busy and there are already reports of people being spawned out in PVP. File a ticket if this happens to you. EDIT: got logged in and headed for Ark. Is it just me or does this trip keep getting longer? Anyways I want to note that I stopped cold to speed up the loot check at Caly and some junior pirate named pentethol took a whack at me. I think he missed a couple shots while I was sitting still or something because that took a while. I made a comment to that effect and after dealing with respawn and trying to leave again he shot down my ship and left me hanging in space for the timeout. I was eager for a third screenshot I would have straight up filed a griefer complaint but he backed off lol. It's funny how a kid with a gun can make you appreciate a confident, professional mugger.
