    Hi all,

I just want to give a heads up about a friend's account that has been hacked. Please see this thread over at PCF:

    http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/f...orita-Sexy-Pants-account-hacked-read-for-INFO

No need for detailed discussion here as the stolen avatar is currently being operated on Calypso. However please watch out for requests for trade or auction items from this avatar.

Also consider the value of the Entropia Gold Card to increase your protection from this sort of thing.

    Regards,
    KikkiJikki

Read about this on PCF, sounds like a pretty invasive trojan or something on her pc, as she said they also got her FB, Skype etc accounts. Get a gold card is the best advise as well, there is even an offer still open for a free one after so much in deposits, but the cost without that offer is well worth the protection it gives.

Strange circumstance....Most hackers arent going to go play EU...But Yes Gold Card is best!! They wouldn't just sell stuff and hang around EU..They would get her account information and clean out her account...not linger on her FL begging for PED. But who knows human nature always surprizes me. I hope it gets resolved and sorry that happened to someone.

If I may, and I will, make a suggestion. Use a password generator to create and store your passwords for you. There are plenty of free ones out there for this purpose, google is your friend. Be sure and read any and all reviews. Try several of them so you can see which one you like and will work best for you. Now depending on the requirements of the sites you visit, the complexity of the password can be quit difficult and near impossible to get hacked. I wont say impossible since any password is crackable with the correct amount of computing power and enough time. Use every type of character available that you are allowed to use. Also, try to change passwords every 30 to 60 days. Never ever use the same password for more than 1 site. Just make sure to set the log in password for the program it self to a difficult enough level, and make sure that you are the only one that knows it.
As a simple example, I log on to one site that has a password requirement of 8 minimum and 26 maximum characters. I can use upper and lower case letters, plus numbers and special characters. I set the program to generate a 26 character password with those three character sets. I set the password up on the site. The when I log back into the site, the program i use lets me use ctrl+v to copy paste my login and password to the site using a protocol that will confuse most any key logger. Also, be sure to create and maintain a backup of the files created by the program in case of a hard drive failure.
Just something to consider to go along with the gold card. Anything to make life harder for the criminal mind, even if it is a PITA, is well worth the effort in the long run.

GL out there, your gonna need it.

Some time ago, being in Twin Peaks, I was approached by an avatar inviting me to visit a site that would pay me 50 ped per survey I completed. According to the avatar, to identify and pay my peds I should enter my entropia universe user and password in that web... When I told him that i will denounce to support he disappeared.
We must be vigilant and not trust anyone the USER and password for entry into our account.
I recommend the Gold Card the best barrier against scammers.

To add to Dawgs post. If you choose passwords that you can remember dont be stupid and make it one of the most used passwords (Password1 [actualy know of a realy large South African company that uses that as its administrative password on all its sales terminals across all its chains. Surprise surprise their shop WIFI also does not use encrtiption aswell making it childs play to access everything you want and do what you want only limitation is your morral compas direction :p] / your burthday / pets name / moms maiden name / burth town ..... ). Also if someone asks you questions like the last few examples lie to them because chanses are good that they already have your username and only require an answer for a security question thats usualy a standard set on most websites inorder to use a reset password option.

I'm sorry to hear they got stripped. Hopefully MA can help them track all their stuff down.
