Hi guys, First time posting here but I do read the forum from time to time at work. I'm posting because I just got done with a mining run and I only found 2 claims (4.33peds) out of 50 drops. I'm not here to cry or blame. I want to know as this happen to any one else? I was mining on Sunday night and it was fine. Is this worth a support case? Most of the time I've read MA will not do anything so I'm thinking i am just SOL. Also, I am a good miner (I think so). the drops covered a large area and the finder was the same one I have been using since I got to Ark. The same area paid just fine on Saturday morning and I have never seen another miner there are even around the area. I read on PCF that something has changed with the loot but I couldn't find anything from MA/Ark saying such.
Unfortunately, it does sometimes happen. Possibly someone had covered the area right before you, or perhaps your "annoy me" variable was turned all the way up. I've had a string of ~45 nrf in a row on ark (though to be fair, that was the day we had NO LOOT mobs on Ark) and I've also had a string of 25 lvl 5 or 8 (i forget) followed by a large HOF. Strings of 20 nrf are not uncommon. Support case won't do anything. Sometimes the system just wants to mess with you. The only advice is if you don't like what you're finding (or not finding) in an area, move to a different area or do another activity in game.
Yep, that's the nature of the loot dynamics. Hopefully, you'll make up for the disparity in your next few runs. Good luck!
I've had runs that were nearly that bad, but not quite. It happens. Other runs are great. Highly variable hit rates for me usually don't mean huge differences in return, so all's good. Best luck!
Welcome to mining 101 hehe. As you mine more and learn your favorite aras you will get a feel for how they behave. You can reliable predict how an area is going to be usually within the first 5 to 10 drops. The hardest part with new players is they dont know when to leave an area. Most think that Oh I have a bad hit rate I will get a catch up hof down the road. Not true. MA will and does gladly take all the money you wish to dump into non producing areas. Learn to leave an area alot sooner and you will save your self MUCH ped over time. As far a NRF.. I have had more then a few trips to CND ( Now FOMA) in the past before I learned my lesson of over 150 drops before the first crappy little find came. Depending on the areas I mine I will leave it if I go 5 nrf in a row. Some areas I MIGHT go as long as 7 but for the most part I dont give MA the chance (that often) to rob me blind but I have to have a good feeling something special is in that area.
