We were harsh on Neverdie, SDS, NI, Rocktropia, now its time for Arkadia to take one for the team. Here is how I FEEL about the planet after 10 days playing it. I can ask now when the planet will be fully or 80-90% ready. If the answer is not less than 4 weeks from now :surrender: Treasure Hunting: Ironic isn't it? Treasure hunting planet with no treasure hunting. Crafting: Not enough blueprint. Support: There was a lot more Arkadia team messages on the forum before the launch than now. I don't think I sow more than 2-3 replies after the planet started. TPs: You start with 4 TPs in all corners of the planet. You need 2 days to get them all. No fun here. TP runs kept me busy for a lot more time on Calypso. May be even getting Rocktropia teleporters was harder. And now they are going to make starting teleporters 5. Why? You think your planet is too big now? more: Arkadia after 10 days
Let's see now: Treasure Hunting Pick up a gun and join the mob that is scheduled to attack MA's offices. Treasure hunting is based mainly on instances and MA hasn't implemented them yet (and my guess is that they were supposed to have them working before launch) Crafting Blueprints and items are still being discovered, i prefer a steady stream of discoveries instead of having everything discovered on the first 2-3 hours of the VU. 300 BP's are not enough? Support I'd suggest you check Cyrus and Dave's profile and click "find all posts". There are definitely more than 3 messages from them since the launch, giving information about the status of the game and taking notes of any bugs. Plus i guess they also have to work on fixing the bugs. TP's No objection here. True, the nature of the spawns makes getting TP's easier, and i'd prefer to get less TP's in the beginning. Seems that view is not shared by everyone though, in the day were we want everything handed on a plate, with people arguing about the need to have Celeste Harbor in the default list. Bad thing is, i can't exactly complain about a company that listens to what the player base is asking, even if i'm not included in that specific majority.
The system is there with skills. it is up too MA to unlock this. Not anything Arkadia can do about only whine about it. Like above said 300 BPS not enough for crafting ? 4 messages a day .. that i soncsider a lot compared to the other planets come on give them a break. David is doing a lot of testing and Cyrus doing the pr side of it all. Both answer question nicely. Answer PM's in time No arguement there. this is the communication we want 2 days ? dude are you walking to them? I had all tp's in half a day. It is also fun to explore see the rich envirmoent and the nice graphics. I wish i could explore more I like it. And Claypso has like double the tps so that should take 4 days then .. I dunno what was your complaint again ? This is how I see 10 days of arkadia The Launch was a succes and the planet is fully in function. Granted a few bugs (wot else is new) and could get some missions indeed (stroy based and some grind missions) I consider Arkadia wot Claypso was in Project Entropia. Fun again explore your own thing and not to fixed on mission. The newbie areas are super so no newbie farmers/scammers at one spot to spoilt the fun of newbies. Also the mobs do have nice lvls are are thought out. Some model tweaking should be. All in all there is one thing missing from this planet A LIMITED ARKADIA WEAPON MUSEUM! there and we go mining and newbie hunting again
@Chrome: 1.loot is not the same as treasure hunting 2.300 BP after 6 months don't make me feel better NOW 3.How many messages are answers to player questions. 4.Most players I think feel well about old days runing for TP as noobs with no armor, skill or knoledge. @Faye 1.yes treasure hunting is MA fault, but that don't make my feelings better 2.300 BP after 6 months don't make me feel better NOW 3.How many messages are answers to player questions. and also I had bigger concerns in the rest of the post like: missions, loot, planet size, shops and landscape similarities with Calypso. All in the light of promises and reality
Looting isnt new, treasure hunting is but it isnt here, this really should come very soon or the advertising that made me come here is false, that could be a little naughty. As an aspiring colourer and texturer I am stuck while on arkadia unless I buy in from Calypso (no orange paint dropping and ive had a total of 20 extractors) this puts me at a stop for the moment and of course the new texture blueprints are not in, if I was starting arkadia as a stand alone thing I couldnt start in these professions without incuring the transport costs from another planet. With the spawns now being pretty tiny on smaller mobs hunting is pretty boring now too and mining complaints (lyst all over), things need to move on quickly or its just another failure. I totally agree that David etc have been speaking to us, I see how happy people are but I feel people forget how much control they dont have over this universe, MA holds all the cards and MA service sucks, the A-Team are going to suffer if MA doesnt get their finger out for them. Oh and as for support as in ingame support, one of the biggest mistakes ive seen so far is arkadia support using PC supports copy paste answers, Ive been disgusted at them in the past and I see them here again, makes me feel very much like I wasted my time raising bug reports to get a copy paste reply that doesnt even relate to the original message.
Speaking for myself as a player, Manny pretty much summed up my thoughts on all the points. If you check the front page side bar, there are links to dev posts, and I honestly don't see how anyone could feel they have not been posting enough or answering enough player questions since launch  Agree it will be nice to get the bps ingame that aren't finished yet, clothing for example, but from the personal experience of visiting other new planets that had no planet specific bps at all, again, sorry I don't see the problem. I believe the 300 bps mentioned are ingame now, maybe not all found yet, but there, and as a result, the crafting centers and auction are very busy pretty much from day one. Looking forward to MA implementing the system needed for Arkadia's 'treasure hunting', but in the meantime there is still plenty of treasure to be found, like Alienware, in normal activity, all of which is possible on this new planet. Nothing is perfect, but the bugs we always have in Entropia are at least being looked at and fixed as fast as possible here, and all of the above means whatever less than perfect thing is a million times easier to be patient with. Moving this to feedback, which the devs do appreciate from all of us.
The A-Team have released a great new world. Treasure Hunting: Patience it is coming soon, you have already downloaded the underground, the foundations are set and ready, just let them polish it! David has a different work ethic to Marco, David likes to release a bug free product! Crafting: Plenty of new BPs and many more to come, Cyrus said texture BPs are coming soon, again they are polishing the Arkadian textures so when they release it is bug free. Fuck I love this company. Support: All I can say is, "Team Arkadia: Fuck Yeah!" Well done David and Cyrus! TPs: Its a chance to see the planet while you find them, Took about 2-3 hours> I think Calypso took me months when I was a noob. Axe, enjoy what Arkadia has to offer its a huge breath of fresh air compared to the shit we put up with from MA and SDS. Cheers Bjorn
No help from the A-team???? eh. Look here on the forum and see that David personally helped a newby to get planet side. Thats already more than what the Calypso CEO's have done in years. And I believe that Cyrus is ingame almost every day to answer questions and help people. So far they did more on serving the community than other PP's. They released a fully working planet, so far they are the only one who managed that in the PE history. Even Calypso was far from complete when I joined. Yes some systems are not up and running yet, this is also because thats in MA's hands. When I got here I knew that not everything would be up and running and I expected bug's and things to be tweaked. Man I was surprised to see that they had accomplished more than I had thought. Regards, Ion
That's what I am saying. I also want and hope Arkadia to become great planet. But I can't wait years for that. I really wonder what can I do when I log in tonight that I havent done yesterday. enjoy what Arkadia has to offer, but AT THIS moment it offers me 1 Oro mission. And the promise was for 100% ready planet with treasure hunting. As Sonya Heart reminded thats why some/most people come to arkadia. And for the Alianware laptop the chance to loot it is the same as looting 19 000 PED loot on every other planet. Come to Next Island you can loot 19 000 PED HOF. Not enough to make me stay/come. No hard feeling to Arkadia team, but I hope they work harder and cal MMA every day to fix the damn bugs and implement the promised stuff or or .. ok the most I can do is fart to the other side of my pants. But this fart will be for you Arkadia. Now tell me what to do when I have all TP, mined everywhere, hunted what I can, no shops, 1 mission that next stage I cant get and 1 achievement that I have and the other is for the bugged mission.
The promise wasn't for a 100% ready planet, but for a planet with 100% working economy - and with Blueprints, weapons and tools specific on Arkadia from the moment of launch, the promise has certainly not been broken. Would I like more variety personaly? Hell yes, and i have no reason to believe that it wont come really quickly. Seeing what the dev team has done in 9 months i can only be impressed and enjoy what there is already on offer while waiting for more.
The gameplay (activities in game) is MindArk responsability, so we cannot blame Planet Arkadia for that. What Arkadia gave us: - A prompt A-Team answering question: compare Calypso, last dev message is May 14; to find one with an answer, you have to go well beyond; I bet - A complete planet, bug free, miner friendly and hunter friendly at the same time: wide spaces for miners, dense spawn of LITTLE aggro mobs, big mobs, you name it. - New BPS, new items, new mobs - Nice area design, clean and mostly bug free (I like the new hides very much) - A working economy All in all, a nice place where to begin again. Yes, the game is the same, but will change. What will keep me is - beside tresure hunting - exactly how Cirus and Dave run the communication. More than enough, since we know that this is the primary difference between planets.
Well I was going to post with my feelings, but it seems like most of you have summed up what I was going to say perfectly
Here are my thoughts about this: 1 - treasure hunting is tied into the mining system for the most part, and as we all know, MA is the source of getting that working and implemented, so that should not be directed at Arkadia Besides, as others have said as well - there is still loot to be discovered, and Alienware to be found, so in a manner of speaking - it is a sort of treasure hunting - just not the official one yet. 2 - there were over 300 blueprints incorporated with the launch, and they're not all going to be discovered at the same time - and even with the patch there were some extras I believe - Dave also said that there are more coming 3 - why would you EVER send a support case to MA regarding Arkadia when (as just about everyone else has said) - Dave, Cyrus and other team members have more than adequately responded to bug reports and other issues themselves - you're going to get a better response time, and a straightforward answer right here at this forum, and a much better answer than you will with the usual cut 'n' paste job that support gives you With Arkadia - the job gets done right here at the forum, and going anywhere else is just a waste of time. Besides - Dave has an inside track directly to MA, and I'm sure would be able to get faster information than we could by submitting a support case. Overall ... Arkadia was the best launched planet to date, because at least it had basic systems in place to develop a working economy, and by all indications, it's doing quite well so far. They did in 9 months what other planets haven't even achieved yet, and it's also not fair to compare Arkadia to Calypso who has been around for 10 or more years. What Dave and his team have done is nothing less than amazing, and as we can see, they are already back on the job taking care of business so that things are fixed and working smoothly. However, Dave is absolutely on top of things here and responding to our questions and concerns, and certainly to the bug reports, so I don't know how much more you can ask for or expect. To be honest, I think the OP's 10 day assessment is unreasonable. Chill out for a while! ... go play with the monsters, they were asking about you just the other day, so maybe they have something special they want to give up, you never know. I just don't think that Dave and the A-Team could work any better or any faster than they already are, and I for one am appreciative of their efforts.
I cant say it better and btw.....Calypso isnt a perfect planet aswell after alot of years.....think about all the missing features.......and they are not able to delete the bugs they are still around.....and try to get a ETA from SDS/SEE.......if i remember right the ETA for missing features run out of time end of last year, nearly 6 month ago ^^ so be patient with the A-Team im sure they do theire best to solve all problems and issues.............as always
ouch I just remembered few more things. this is may be the worst thing about Arkadia and it is 100% their fault: Teleporter names: 10 teleporters that share the same name. Outpost. Really? I mean REALLY!?! Like there was no time to think of 10 different names. -Hey dude you got that TP “outpost”? -Yeah I got 6 of them. Where we will go? -Let’s do TP run from Outpost to Outpost and then we can go to Outpost. -Ok. Sounds like a plan. Towns: 9 Academies and 12 firebase that all look the same.Really? I mean REALLY!?! You want to tell me that there is planet in the universe with 12 firebases and 9 academies that all look the same. There wasn't even 1 dude to say. Hey we can put cocacola machine here so people will remember us. and the same with teleport names -Can someone help me with this creature? -Excuse me sir, but what is your position? -I'm here in the firebase. Hurry I’m dying here!!! -Sorry to make you wait but what firebase? -Repulse or Relentless or Resolute, it is something with "R"! -Ok, sir, just one more thing. Is that the firebase or the firebase academy? -oOoOoOoOoOoOoO And that means that if we remove 19 from the towns that are COPY PASTE what we got. 3 towns 1 firebase 1 academy total.
WOW are you serious that is some petty shit right there. . TO THE DEV TEAM YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.......
Uhm, sorry, but you sound a little bit "biased" here. You wasted your sarcasm. Unnamed outposts: ok, non optimal thing, I'm sure it will be corrected soon (I saw other posts about this). Naming: the case you missed it, there is a "p" key with coordinate. Come on... Same firebases all around: does this tease you someway? Does it waste space? Does it ruin your time ingame? Absolutely not!
