Remaking the post to fit some rules Is not fun anymore. I don't know for all of you, but the main point of any game is to give entertainement and fun. I have fun when I achieve something, when I progress and see the incoming progress pay the hard work. Is almost 2 years and EU is not as amusing as it used to be. Don`t worry, on rage quit cases I would delete the account but you won't get rid of me, yet. I'm trying a space game with no annoying pets, no fees to planet landing, no huge or small deposits to keep playing, no living of scraps to progress and best feature ever "NO FORCED PVP". Well is nearly impossible to find a sci-fi game 100% pve, but there are still the good ones that won't let your costumers be robbed. In any case I'll be logging in here from time to time until my only 2 disciples graduate. To clarify a PM I received from Dylan. Is not Arkadia or any planet on the game in specific. Of course I blame my pet hater role on Arkadia due the bad disturbing distribution of tameables on new playes areas. But that's not the point. In almost 2 years of playing I saw this game decline making harder to new players survive without making monthly deposits. And the new content is 90% no skill based, meaning buy it or be left behind. So for now I'l be away from EU for a very long time. I'll be around to check how things go, but to be honest, I won't expect any improvement.
Is it by any chance in Alpha stage with Crowd-Funding? Just curious. Either way, I understand how you feel and wish you well. I do hope you return later to check on things. and remember... In space no one can hear you scream
No. I'm not allowed to say wich one is, but is a well stablished game and you gonna love this part. PVPers beg to people to participate on pvp events.
To expect to be able to play the game without any fees or deposing is a bit silly. The game-developer, MA, needs constant revenue to maintain and develop the game. But I can agree that it's not a game for players that want fast development and progress, and after a while when you have tried out different features of the game, it can start to be a bit slow and boring.
Hey Murkalael don't stay away too long or everyone will forget who's the #1 um... ah... um... oh yeah, the #1 pet hater in EU! ha ha ha but eitherway hope you enjoy & HF
Don't want to make this a depositor / non-depositor argument but I used to deposit when I felt it was worth it but I haven't felt that way for a very long time for various reasons. Living by selling off storage stacks atm. I don't mind slow progress but the goal posts have changed so often I just couldn't justify the costs involved to keep up. At one point I'd have been mid level but now a newbie can over take in weeks that took me months / years to achieve. May be that's the problem with EU, it's chasing after the fps crowd with instant gratification rather than the relaxed laid back atmosphere it used to have. More of us deposited small amounts often (coincidentally when MA was cash rich ) and now they're after the grinder who are willing to dump cash in but get bored quickly. Missions are one of the things that I think have contributed to the problem with EU, too much fixed framework that we're told to follow rather than setting our own simpler goals (like dancing on a roof for two hours while chatting) and why so many of us old timers are still hanging around from when it didn't exist, yet people who've joined in the last few years are getting burned out. Missions should only be used to get new players used to EU but after that we should be left get on with it ourselves.
Don't blame you Murk. I don't mind paying for entertainment, however the level of satisfaction (for me at least) vs. the cost started to diverge drastically.
That's why I don't allow the game to dictate my spending. I adapt my game to how much I'm willing to spend at any moment. Specifically I don't depo into downswings. When I just know it will suck me dry within too short a time, I revert to small Halix or whatever, like just exploring or socializing. Or taking a break is also quite in order. Hope to see you back Murkalael, all the best to you. The pet inundation is receding visibly, since they were rendered useless by MA shortly after re-introduction. I don't quite follow here. I do missions if the reward is something I want, if not I leave it. Someone else wants something else, and it's there for them. Feeling compulsion means lack of control over one's own impulses, the game or its creators are not to blame for that. It's like blaming the chocolate factory for your getting fat (I know in some jurisdictions they are doing just that). You can still dance and have a party, if that's become difficult then it means the people have changed or left. There is now a self-help organization for us oldtimers... a thus named soc, group (pcf) and in-game chat channel. Yeah, we gripe all the time about how things were better
I have never completed a single hunting or mining mission chain in any of the planets so far, cos I just do what I want to do and the mission bonuses are just that, bonuses I get whenever I get to complete a stage.
