"What to do today in Arkadia?" "Uhm... sweating?" "Again?" "Let's go hunt..." "Again?" "So what?" "Dunno..." This sadly happens often with my friends. I have a stupid idea but maybe it can be implemented... who knows? My idea is: Why don't you allow users to create events dynamically? I try to explain better: 1. The user buy a special device, let's say... an auger, a digger, something like that. 2. The user uses a special resource detector to find the ore vein 3. The user place the auger/digger or whatever it is and activate it. The device starts to gather ore but attract wildlife that starts to attack the user and the digger. trying to destroy it. The user will have to defend his life and the digger using a repair tool while receiving ore from the digger. 4. Everyone who helps him to kill the wildlife and to heal the digger will receive part of the ore. Of course these user created events should appear on the map with a well visible symbol. If you balance smartly the incoming ore and the consumed bullets/repair tools and the prices for the digger/detector this won't drastically impact the game economy but will add so much fun! Forgive me for the bad english, i am italian.
I like the idea in general. And you could use many Themes. A M.A.S.H. Unit could be for guys wanting to work on Healing... you deploy it and there is a MASH Tent with Injured inside, that you have to heal. But outside there are Oratons or what ever attacking to bring it down and kill everyone, so guys are outside Defending the Wave and Repairing the Building. Things that are (1) Dynamic in that players can place/create them and (2) use a variety of Skills and Team Work to complete... I'm all for.
