So... get down to the underground, old school! Here's a shovel, can you dig it fool?

We need to get that Underground Economy going, guys... I like 0.01 per day... but 0.02, 0.03, 1.00, these are better options. GET BUSY DOWN UNDA!

Lol no you dont get TT income. You get a % of TT value that is "looted". ie hunting and mining

Ah, well that's nice. I didn't know if any of the AH Fees/Taxes, or anything like that may have been part. So just a % of TT Value on Dropped Loot. Thanks! Do we know that value? Just interested.

At 0.01 per day and 200,000 Deeds, that means the Underground is making 2,000 PED a day in Taxes, which means it is dropping 40,000 Loot Daily on Average. (Check my math, by all means, I'd like the Info to be right).

This means if we can get enough action to produce 200,000 in Taxable Income in the Underground, the AUD will pay 0.05 for that day.

The difference in 0.01 and 0.05 on your Recoup Cost Time is HUGE, as 0.01 is 5,000 Days and 0.05 is 1,000 Days. Or 13.6989 Years (13 Years and 7 Months) versus 2.7397 Years (2 Years and 8 Months).

Looking at that I think it's clear we need to seriously try to amp up the amount of Loot being dropped in the Underground, which is to say we need more Hunting and Mining going on down there. About 5X more.

Also, if the Return on the AUD skyrocketed like that, we'd see a sharp rise in In Game AUDs, much like happened with the CLD Inflation. For those looking to Flip Deeds this would be a huge benefit, though at an improved rate I'd see no need in flipping them. And Cash Players could still buy at the Store for USD at a rate of 50 PED each to protect against Inflation until the 200,000th Deed was picked up.

If the going rate for AUD rose above 50 PED each in game, surely people would just buy from the store and then sell on the ingame market? Any external source of AUD offered at 50 PED each effectively caps the price. Until thats removed, the price wont really rise.

If the Return on AUD's rose like that, there wouldn't be any left Off-Line, because people with big Pockets would buy them off-line to flip In Game for an instant return on investment. There are only 200,000 TOTAL of these things... that wouldn't last long at all if such a spike happened.

Which also means that Players would get more of the Taxed Income, since right now every Deed that UE holds is Taxes they get to keep for themselves.

Another month in the books, another update on monthly RoI. May's annualized RoI was an abysmal 4.24% @ 50 ped/deed, which would be a slightly less abysmal 4.71% @ 45 ped/deed. There were no days above 1 pec/deed, and this month also had the first back-to-back no-pay days since mid-March. On the bright side, this is only the second time this has occurred so far this year.

On one hand, it is hard to see the deeds doing to much worse than this the rest of the summer. On the other hand......I'm not sure how much they'll improve over the summer either. Given the current state of mining I don't personally hold much hope that activity will increase down there mining wise. The mobs down there seem to gain popularity in waves, but without events/smugglers it doesn't seem to move the needle all that much. Couple those facts with Caly migration, and I think deeds are going to keep getting smack talked regularly in chat.

The full-year picture is a good bit cheerier though. Current annualized RoI for the entire year is 8.41% @ 50 ped/deed and 9.35% @ 45 ped/deed. That might not match CLD payouts, but considering the cheap entry price of AUDs its pretty darn respectable. Some may argue there are better investment options, but for a couple dollars each they really do fill a nice niche.

Overall though, I am completely shocked that the current 50 ped/deed price has been holding. I am loathe to credit lack of supply (or high demand) for this, but saying that the current RoI is driving the price is even more far-fetched. At some point I'd love to increase my modest holding of these in hopes that mining returns to what it was, or that the smuggler chain is underground based. However, there's no way I can justify it at current prices, so I guess I'll wait.

Thoughts on the previous month? Obviously most people in this thread would love to see increased activity/payouts, so I guess thoughts other than the obvious?

Not meaning to put a downer on this but I am aware of several if not more than several high budget players that avoid this area.

why do you ask because there is a reasonable amount of comments made in #arkadia chat similar or along the lines of

" oh yay you just added to my aud "

they then just spend there budgets else where ! think about what your saying ! ! !

on a more possitive note - theres a new firebase come in under the abyss ! expect more from the A-Team as they wouldnt put a hole base down there for no reason ! I cant remember the name of it currently but its there - and given time its bound to be something important.

you never know it might be the assigned firebase to smugglers ! but who knows ! ! !

Soc hunts can be fun down there and mobs like togalossi / badgers global reasonably well maybe if your socs doing a hunt try the underground and promote your own investment.

You are exactly correct, and I wish there was a way to spread the word about this. I have noticed that people generally don't do that anymore, but the perception will definitely linger for a good bit. I also think that these people would happily go there anyways given the proper incentive.

I hadn't even noticed the base was put in, so that's great news to hear!

2 things that can assist here, and both are hunting orientated...that's because hunting constitutes something along the lines of 70% of the turnover of EU (rough educated guestimate).

    1. Put specific spawns of the Oratan required for the daily missions for IFN down there.
    2. IFN Challenge mission on Smugglers.

Extras, mining mission for stuff in the AU (these may be available all ready) and I'm assuming that all the AU mobs have missions on them too.

The reality of EU is that hunting drives the economy....so thats where the focus needs to be.
