Treasure hunters and miners! Hear ye! Crafters need your freshly dug up ores, enmats and treasures! A quick run around Celeste and the Quarry identified a major gap in the market, a shop that sells, Arkadian ores, enmats and treasures. Of note some Chemset/Binding Epoxy would be good to see. Cheers Bjorn
They are in the TT Unfortunately. As I've been told before.. crafters don't want to go to a shop to pick up materials.. they want to stay at the terminal, click the browse button, look up the resource on auction, and purchase.
All my ores, enmatters and treasures are in storage. Since I don't want to keep losing the auction fee . I'm tired of auctions ending without bids even when I put stuff with a starting bid of 100%
I purchase most of my mined resources at auction, supplemented by the occasional callout in chat. Right now I am buying less for a couple of reasons: 1. I am currently spending a bit less time in game during the week, saving up most of my crafting for weekends. 2. There's a decline in demand for my crafted gear at the moment. I'm not sure if it is the usual cycle (last May was quiet also) or if it relates to the increased weapon drops in hunting loot. In any case I only craft to restock shops, so if people aren't buying weapons etc, then I am not buying ingredients. I would like to be providing more reliable demand for miners but unfortunately that's just not possible at the moment.
It is unfortunate that the demand for these materials is so low on Arkadia right now. I don't know if that speaks to it's current economic state or that of EU as a whole. It is simply not worth holding onto stacks of mats, paying the Auction House fee, and hoping you get a buyer. I mine secondarily while hunting, but if I don't find a buyer in the Orders section on the AH, it gets dumped in the TT. I was hoping the new Universe wide Auction system would help this somewhat, but it doesn't seem to be the case. It seems to me, in my opinion alone, that crafters continuously get shafted by MA. The increase in different weapons that are dropping significantly decreases the need for crafted ones. Who knows if this was a targeted decision by MA or simply an (easily foreseeable consequence) of the introduction of new weapons. Either way it seems to have dampened the marketplace.
My revenue is down but profit % is stable so I am not complaining. I did have a brief chat with some our our devs a couple of weeks ago about the current situation and they are aware of the impact of the new weapons and they have some thoughts about what they might be able to do but I don't want to pre-empt any decisions they might make. I guess the main thing is that Ark devs are working to foster a healthy local economy.
Time after time some brainiac dev floods the game with new crap and a part of the market crashes. Quite simply they are clueless when it comes to understanding how a balanced economy works and we are all at their mercy. One click of their "screw you" button and our gear is permanently devalued or mobs stop dropping certain loot or particular mining resources can now only be found up a unicorn's arse.
As a hunter, I stack everything, except for the body parts without use, hides and cheaper boards. I sell items directly on Arkadia auction, fill orders for the most common materials and then ship the rest of the crap to Caly where I list it at 100% SB and at weekly MU as BO. Miners would probably benefit from doing the same. That would force orders into the system. The Arkadian market is still quite small. It needs more time to grow.
You see a lack of minerals because there is almost no demand for them now. The ore market was fine before the explosive projectiles BPs were introduced in december. Now crafters get most of their mats straight from the TT, not from miners or hunters. Thanks MA, instead of bringing new uses for existing mats to improve the economy, you move most crafting outside of the economy altogether. Let's look at today's hall of fame and see why things are so bad now. 17 out of 25 are explosive projectiles. There is no longer any need to craft as most things needed by other players drop from mobs. Crafting has become even more like gambling that it ever was!
