So, I was helping some one doing the new player mission and I came across this.

    tattoo.png

A lot of people have been asking for tattoo's in the past and this NPC haves them. The head one you could get from a mask, but the one on the arm?

Is this a hint that we are getting tattoo's in the game from our beloved A-team? Discuss!

That would totally rock... and it's been long wanted. Would love to see more things in game that help us with our personal style :)

Very nice find, I hadn't seen that bloke before. [IMG]

Too bad that the Face Masks only cover the face itself, and not the entire head.
It would be great to have a total Mask, that covers the entire body. Or even have separate Masks for each body part.
So you can wear a tattoo wherever you want, instead of only on the face. (Which is usually the least popular place to 'tat up', unless you're 'Mike Tyson'. [IMG])

The principle is already in-game with the Face Masks: so would it actually be that much work to implement it on other parts? Or is that technically very hard to do?

Having face, head+neck, torso, arms, legs, hands and feet Masks, would open up a huge range of possibilities.
With the Makeup either only visible when worn on bare skin, or also on top of clothes.
The latter could give a much needed impulse to the stylists too.
Since it would add another dimension to clothes: the chance to be creative and make truly original patterns, designs, logos, etc. (There would need to be limitations in transparency/coverage ofc, so Makeup won't be a viable option to replace Paint.)

And if each body part Mask would need to be crafted (like the current Face Masks): there could be (6x3=)18 new BPs that use hunted/mined ingredients.
Plus Makeup could be traded (for MU) again, instead of suffering it's current fate: being dumped in the TT.

But even if it would just be 1 total body Mask, with the Makeup only visible on bare skin: that would already be an awesome addition. [IMG]
It would be great to see any new activity in the personal style department: it hasn't been receiving a lot of love.
Which is a shame, since they are one of the very few creative professions in EU.
So yeah, absolutely +1 for Body Masks! [IMG]

Personally I would never use a tatoo, neither IRL or in-game, but I'm always up for more options for players to customize their avatars; so yeah, indeed, I would totally support and lobby for such a feature. :)

I like the idea of body tattoos, and a system for adding logos to your clothes . But what I really, really want is...
    :banana:Vehicle decals:banana:

I made a thread about it in calypso forum some time ago and it got good feedback
    http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?191823-Car-Decals

MA has taken some steps in the right direction but I don't think they really understand how much some guys are willing to spend in order to make their avatars and vehicles unique.

Me like, me like. I wouldn't mind a tattoo of my own in-game since I already sport a few IRL. :D

I have real Tattoo's ! Would you express your opinion to me if I was having dinner at a restaurant next to you ? This thread is about people with tat's in or out of game. You obviously do not care for tat's, why are you here ? I do not care for your opinion if you do not like Tat's
then find another thread to climb your ladder.

I didn't criticized anywhere people having tattoos - is a matter of personal preferences, though not my business to comment on other people's options. All I said is that personally, I would never want one for myself. Is just like I hate wearing dresses myself, but that doesn't mean I criticize other girls wearing them or so. :p

But except that, the reason why I posted here was to say that I support and lobby for the idea of them being introduced, so people that enjoy them can have them...

So really, it was absolutely nothing against people having tattoos and I totally fail to understand why you acted like that.

She has the right to post just like you even if her opinion differs from yours. How else can we come up with constructive criticism if everyone says the same things?!

We need to step out of our Echo Chambers!

Customizable images on clothes... "prints" rather. I think that would add a lot of much need variety to clothing, considering that all we're able to do now is add pre-determined colours and textures. Of course, there should be a size limit of the print, so that they won't be able to replace colours and textures which cover the entire clothing.

Sure the idea sounds nice to be able to show off e.g. a band logo or anything. It creates an opportunity to chat and meet like-minded folks. But then the game would also be flooded with everybody's political, infantile or whatever messages. I actually like it the way it is with minimal real world stuff creeping into the virtual realms.

Besides, it will create performance issues with many avatars around, because the image files have to be downloaded upon arrival within your visual distance, whereas now everything is already stored on your computer and is mixed on the spot using just a few bytes of meta-information sent over the network. If this is changed, It would be a bit like playing Second Life, where it can take very long until a scene is complete.

The system is already in place and being used, make up masks, its not hard to copy paste that for other limbs.

About the silly or annoying messages, there are already rules in place against such content. Not long ago some avas were punished for using political team names about Tibet IIRC. And others for using inapropiate sexual names.

About the load time, that is not necessarily true. If MA implements a system similar to the Emblem creation System in Call of Duty Black Ops.
This would allow a skill based progression (at level one you can only use a small set of shapes and layers) and still leave room for creativity. So in one patch you download all the available shapes and fonts that can be used, and that's it. All the designs would be a combination of certain basic shapes in diferents sizes, colors and positions.

I'm not sure if its been changed but last time this was brought up and the make up system was suggested it was explained that avatars have to be symmetrical-something about less load times, server load etc when loading only one side of the body and just reversing exactly the same info for the other side- So that didn't really work for Tattoos as they would have to also be symmetrical and placed bang on the axis of symmetry which is the centre line of the avatar. So unless you want a symmetrical image in the middle of your forehead or chest etc its just not gonna work.

If you've seen anyone with asymmetrical make up then that would indicate the system has changed and the make up system may work.

A simple form of vector graphics, yes that should work without bogging performance down. However I'd think that if policies are already in place against undesired content, it must have happened before and occupied resources of support staff. It might be an obstacle that they likely don't want an increase there.

It's actually quite hard to write with Makeup (I tried). [IMG]

And doh, completely forgot about the symmetrical thingy...
Meh, it's still nice to fantasize about more creative options. [IMG]

this is history since we have asymetrical armor already(viceroy/musca) so clothes and maybe tattoos are an option but indeed would mess with loading. :barefoot:
