Disclaimer: It's true, this post is write out of frustration because of some raging against us, free players, that took place on #arkadia channel going down to even "you are never to young to go prostitute yourself", still I took enough time to cool down before writing it, so I hope that I will be as logical and reasonable as possible. I will use a lot of "you" in this post as directing to that generic person that hates us, free players.

Truth being said, I haven't seen any other game where certain people to have so much hate against free players; I spent all my live only on Arkadia, so I can't really say how things are on other planets, but I have very few reasons to think they are different. And I simply don't understand why.

No matter if some people like it or not, Entropia Universe is a free to play MMO, and it is even advertised as so; that is a clear proof that MindArk doesn't consider us, free players, as a blast, but as a useful resource (that maybe makes the economy going by doing the mundane taks, maybe bringing other played players in the game, maybe turn in paid players at some point, and so on). If they wouldn't consider us so, they could simply switch the pay model; the fact that they don't do it is the best proof that they share my and not your vision. And if you really think that you are smarter than them and you "know better", maybe the best thing to do would be to make a ticket or write them and help them understand why they should not allow us in game. So I don't do anything wrong or illegal or anything; I play by the rules that are in existence at this very moment, and those rules not only allow us real players, but even calls us to the game.

Further more, as long as I don't ask you to give me any money or favors (and even if I would ask, which I don't, you could simply say no), I don't understand why you mind so much my business instead of minding yours. Remember that MA doesn't really give away any money - except the oil which is in a pvp area, all other freebies - like sweat, fruits, dung have almost 0 tt value; they only value some PEDs if sold to some other players - which means that my "wellfare" is not paid by MindArk (and subsequently by you, people paying money to MindArk), but by my buyer, which finds a use for my items. So it is much more appropriate to say that the contract between me and my buyer is more like a job contract, where I am paid for my time, doing something that said person isn't willing to do himself/herself. When I'll go hunting/mining/etc, I'll use money that I earned and that someone paid for (bought from shop and then paid me with) - there are no real free PEDs in this game.

Now you seem to judge me that I don't work IRL. Well, think more about it. I can make like 1k sweat in maybe 3-4 hours (and trust me, is not an entertaining activity), which values 2 PEDs, that's like 50 PECs (or $0.05 RL$) per hour. So (and yeah, I'm ashamed to admit that) if I am willing to do that, it really means that I don't have other better options, because if I would, I must be a real idiot to not do them. And stop judging everything from your perspective; we all live in different countries, with different economic and cultural backgrounds, have different ages and regulations (like in my country I can't work, neither have a bank account usable for online payments due to age restriction).

I don't complain, I don't ask you to help me or feel sorry for me. I just ask you to stop judging me, because I really don't ask anything from you. Is just that... I don't care how much or how less you spent - either nothing or $1000 per month, is just your option and I respect it... Please do the same and respect my own option (which may not even really be an option)... and remember that there's no "wellfare" from MA and being a free player is not all nice and dandy... to survive as a free player you really have to work your a$$ hard and miss a lot of "fun"...

There's no shame in that, I play this game for a bit more than a year and I still sweat a lot. Players that were on sweat circles on the day I started still do this, why? Is out of routine, is social, most times is funny, whoever brings the "I'm a big depositor" and never been on sweat circles is more noob than all newbies there, don't even deserve this best seller you wrote :biggrin2:

It's not just hate against free players, its hate period, when you put yourself in a casino environment the high rollers are usually not the friendliest people in the world. Unfortunately #arkadia has gotten just as bad as rookie and caly when it comes to hate, we need moderation in main channels like them, especially rookie.

    All is cool.

But you need to remember since this is a RCE you in a way are playing as a RL bum sucking off others all the while searching the trash bends at night.

Just keep that a thought and have fun. :)

But also you need to understand that people are giving you a hard time here since, as you stated you are not, you are repeatably asking people to buy your low grade TT items. I'm guessing that's the main reason people are giving you the hardest time of all. If you have something worthwhile to sale then you can spam it..but don't spam 1ped items to the death.

Please tell me a single time and a single item which I asked to sell for a price which is even 0.01% higher than market price.

Yes, I did tried to sell my newbie loot (newbie has nothing to do with free or paid btw), but I did it under the market price.

    Examples: one, two, three, four

I'm not sure peddling low markup wares is considered vagrancy, in any society. Begging, panhandling, and thievery would be viable grounds for player-base consternation. However, to ridicule a player simply on the grounds that they don't operate efficiently, sell low-markup items, or choose to increase their wealth in a challenging way is both smug and narrow-minded.

To Lovefall... I hope you keep doing what you're doing. Ignore the unreasonably negative comments within the channels. No one can dictate your goals to you or your methods to achieve them. Good luck to you.

Yes don't get me wrong here this is very true as well. And she has good points...just that there are way to many people in game to give them the hard side of the stick. I try my best not to..but well..I guess I do at times as well. As well I don't think Lovefall should change how she plays..just that she needs to understand that this is a hard world sometimes to live in but for her age a great game to train for RL stuff.

I highly agree there, I started playing Entropia in 2003, that would make me around 13 at the time, and I would honestly credit it as a big source of the financial knowledge I have now.

I haven't seen what has been happening and I don't know who was hassling you so I can only suggest that you pay little attention to trolls. I have 6 people on my ignore list and the arkadia channel is so much more pleasant without their bullshit.

    Couldn't have said it better.

I know it is easier said than done, but keep doing your thing Lovefall and try to ignore those that try and bring you down. The beauty of the Entropia Universe is that it is big enough for every kind of player. Unfortunately this includes the aforementioned trolls! Ignoring them shows that you are a better person and really makes them look small and petty.

I have to say that I've been following your progress with some interest and I'm very impressed by the methodical way that you've gone about things :) As the previous posters have said, just ignore the trolls - block them.

Is too much trouble to a troll, so I won't take screenshots of what sweat already bought me, so carry on, best advice is Kikki's, after all, ignore list is there for a reason :D

Excatly well said and Lovefall carry on been yourself ;) you at the end of the day are the one doing it the hard and unenjoyable way and its not about how much cash you have or if you deposit or not - we are all in the Same Virtual Universe and planetery system and here for our own enjoyment.

As Others have said use the ignore list - i didnt see the conversation but there are many a many a player that have and do make success with percistance and not depositing.

Totally agree with what is being said. Didnt see what went on but its pointless to talk with certain people sometimes. Talking to some of the trolls in the Arkadia chat is as useful as trying to break down a brick wall with a piece of wool. Best to slap them on ignore and continu with
    what you are doing.

What other people said, the ignore button is there for a reason and is very easy to use. I have a number of people I've had on ignore since day 1 of the new chat interface.

I don't know if the harassment was caused by trade messages in #arkadia but make sure you don't spam messages there, leave the planet channels for conversation.

All the hate started from another free player (so not me) asking if collecting fruits or sweating is a better option to make money as free player. Had nothing to do with any advertising.

And, anyway, no matter where a discussion starts from, I really think there should be a limit where it should stop... and imho that limit is many times crossed by far.

    And yeah, already ignored. :)

The person in question is one of two people in the game that I've seen that has been rude to me for no suitable reason. The person in question who called lovefall and 3 others idiots did so to me in fap channel some months back for 45 minutes when I was trying to help him get a cheaper warp. No one told me he had a mother ship, including him. That is all he had to say.

Some people have nothing better to do with themselves. just better to ignore these folks.. they add no value to the game.

Ignoring or not I still feel we need channel moderation, especially when we have a army of qualified Arkadia Advisors.
