Hey guys as the title says I need help my computer took a nose dive (again) so now it is somewhat dead but there is good news on the horsing I have a buddy that has a friend who has a so called gaming computer here are the stats what do all my fellow Arkadian geeks think will it run EU smoothly? So here are the stats and most importantly what would a good deal be for me to pay? hell, EU runs smoothly for me, with half the machine you list here... but with a better os in it... I'd get rid of the home os version, upgrade to ultimate if you can. but otherwise, it's a nice package. not sure about a price though. I build em, but don't sell em.
ok so by os home you mean the "Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1" sorry not at all a computer person. I can turn them on lol
For the most part this is higher spec than my rig and mine runs on full very well,this should be fine. Not sure if Eu supports cross-fire yet,there was an issue,for all I know its been resolved,but even so just one of those cards should perform well enough. It ticks all the right boxes for me(Decent CPU,Ram,Gfx Card,SSD Drive) Depending on price I'd be happy with it.
this is an awesome setup! i didn't check prizes of all components, but my guess is 1 to 1.5k us$. personally i paid around 800$ for my gaming pc, but my specs are ofc little bit lower than yours. (it runs incredibly smooth on very high setting anyways - i suggest an SSD for both OS and game, and AT LEAST 20 gigs of ram, better 32 gigs)
Looks pretty good to me, but I would suggest to get a 250GB SSD instead of the 120GB you have on that list. I have a 120GB SSD for a couple of years now and am constantly managing the free space on that (am at around 7-8 fee GB all the time, which is a bit low). And 250GB these days is not expansive anymore, especially compared to the other stats of the machine. This is assuming you have more running then just your OS and EU of course.
Several things I see as bad. and not good advise here... First Win 7 home.... upgrade to 7 pro as it is now the ONLY win 7 format supported my microshit. 2nd...depending on what multitasking you will do 8 gig fast ram is good enough. I play with full on GFX on my system and I have NEVER EVER topped 4 gig TOTAL use of the 12 gig ram I have in my system even when playing EU, DJ'ing, DL requested tunes, 20 + chats going at the same time. I did read somewhere a while back that the whole crossfire and whatever nshiddya calls their multi card set up has been worked out with EU. Not sure if it actually uses it or simply no longer crashes on systems WITH it. AS far as a second SSD thast over kill. I have only a 64 gig ssd in mine with several big 10k and 7.2k rpm HD's. I run my OS and EU on the SSD and that's it. anything else goes to the Spinny drives . All the fancy computer stuff for EU is kind of moot anyway as the only things that matter in EU is ping and money, and how close you are to MA dev family.
The computer looks really awesome and not only that it is way above recommended system requirements for EU, but I really can't think at any current game that will not run smoothly on this little beast. Now there's of course a matter of opportunity; it may be easily an "overkill" if you don't plan on running on it more advanced games than EU; so a computer with lower specs (and lower price ) might do the job equally good. Also, I generally don't recommend buying second hand computers unless you are a computers person; when you buy from shop and have warranty and everything on your name is much easier to handle things. So my suggestion is this: if the price he is asking is considerably lower than what you would pay buying same computer from a shop (and by considerably I think at least 20-25% lower) then go for it - it's an awesome "toy". However, if the asks a price which is higher than this, just pass and go buy yourself a new computer from the shop, picking the components you actually really need for your typical computer use.
From what I've been able to gather so far EU does NOT take advantage of multi threaded/multiple cpu's and also crosfire/SLI . If you're using this strictly for EU and general daily use then the cpu and dual video cards are probably a bit overkill. Then again if you are looking at future proofing yourself this is a nice setup. I can see a rig like this running about $1k-$1200 USD. One little suggestion I do have tho is get rid of the CPU cooler and go for one of the self contained liquid cooling CPU blocks that are available like the Corsair h110. THis will do 2 things for you: cut noise of fans down a lot and also dissipate that dreaded heat from the CPU giving you more room to do what the proposed motherboard is intended for... OVERCLOCKING.
