Or rather, they will sell for less than the cost to produce....

It's not unreasonable to expect you could make 5-8k ped per year as a non depositor without selling skills but it'll take you a whlie to work your way up to it. Don't make any long term plans though, expect to change what you are doing constantly and move from planet to planet as necessary. Don't expect to learn too much from the forums, by the time any interesting idea hits the forum it's already been played out in game, and don't expect to live off the game instead of going to college. Even if you are successful and lets say you make 10k ped per year, you have to withdraw it to live IRL and depending on where you live that won't last long.

If it inspires you in any way, i stopped sweating after about 3 months and became a full time non depositor many years ago. Sweat was worth a lot more then and still I think I would have been better off to deposit $50 and stop sweating after the first month.

    1) If they do, it's fine by me, because then even though they leeched off my idea I still helped someone. And I can always find another niche.

    2) This certain item has stayed between 145-170% markup for the last 3-5 years. It is ALWAYS in demand because(thanks to) of gambling crafters.

Edit: 3) I never expected to live off EU. Again I repeat the reason I play is to "play" at real life before I truly enter it, to get a taste and prepare myself. EU models after real life a lot. Sweating is a job. Hunt/Mine/Craft are Liabilities. Trading is an asset. Deeds are stocks. Etc,etc.

If you are going to craft, don't craft on QR1 blueprints unless they are "book 1" style blueprints and you are maxed on it through skills alone. For components you can usually get a higher QR blueprint for much less than you will lose from having a lower CoS.

Why do you think crafting basic filters or explosive ammo first is a better idea than crafting BSM or whatever it is you expect to make a profit on?

Have you looked around to see if there is anywhere you can do a daily mission for crafting skills?

I think crafting those two first will be the cheapest way to get BPC without repair skilling, which seems a bit strange to me as you get crafting levels by not crafting? whaa? xD. But my mind works in strange ways, I assure you. I of course will craft on 90+ higher QR rating bps, as often as possible on a 100 QR one. However, when buying & trading I will look for the easiest to profit deals that I can afford to have multiple on at the same time, so QR isn't at this moment a factor in my trading.

And from now on when posting progress I will only tell 1) number of ped in auction and 2) how much was sold, how much was paid, and how much was profited, whenever I complete a deal. :)

Actually I would recommend that you just spend around 200 to 300 peds doing mothership repair skills...why because not only does it unlock Blueprint comprehension for you, it also helps you to finish your mentorship faster. Another good thing about that is you are gaining skills in almost all your crafting professions...so in the beginning it might look like a 100% loss to you..but thats where you are wrong...Skills have ped values too and people buy those as well...so mothership skilling isn't truly a loss. Its cheaper compared to having massive losses on basic filters and after you have reached level 10 in Vehicle structural engineer...you can focus on the one profession that you want to focus on.

3,4 PED per day ? 1200 ped in one year to cash out ?
(keep in mind the radio bonus might shut down tomorrow...same counts for Entropia itself)

So in 1 year you might(!) post "Yay, 70$ to me for free !"
Imagine it becomes boring...and you suddenly want to hunt ? :O

I dont want be an a$$ but :
You already "loose" about 5 PED per 8 hours of beeing inside Entropia. (electricity)
(400w high end PC, or 2,5 PED per 8 hours on a 200w PC)

(Electricity BIll on 8 hours of sweating per day)
Thats about -163 $ in one year. (400w)
    Thats about -81,5 $ in one year. (200w) = a + of 19,5$ in 1 year

If you got a 40w oldskool laptop, running Entropia in safe mode :
    Congratulation !

Thats about -16,3 $ electricity bill in one year. (40w)
    You made a + of 83,7 $ in 1 year ! You even beat the system ! ;)

Beat the system ? Wait, you actually "worked" for your 3,4 PED per day, starring on a screen clicking your mouse,
you will die now and then, a new mob needs to be lured after the other one became dry, the game crashes etc. etc. etc.

    advice 1 :

Go to Ashi Oilrig and make 30 PED per hour. (if you survive and are beeing alone..chech timezones)

    advice 2:
Get a job at McDonalds, make 50-80 PED per hour(!) and deposit at least once per month (100 PED?). See it as an investment.
Or if you already have a job...ah whatever, I dont deposit anymore as well. =)

You are indeed very optimistic and I promise you it will become so boring, you wish you had never started. ;)

Anyway, Good luck, if you have nothing better to do, this is the way you want to make money ! xD

It might be, but what is the purpose of you getting BPC quickly? This is what I'm getting at with having conflicting goals. If you have a reason you want BPC that's fine, but you still should weigh the cost of losing ped to get it quickly, or making ped to get it slowly (if your ped making crafting idea works).

Repair skilling give Engineering Skill, which effects the following:

    Electronics Engineer 30
    Mechanical Engineer 30
    Metal Engineer 30
    Armor Engineer 29
    Attachment Engineer 29
    Tool Engineer 29
    BLP Weapons Engineer 28
    Carpenter 28
    Gauss Weapons Engineer 28
    Laser Weapons Engineer 28
    Longblades Engineer 28
    Plasma Weapons Engineer 28
    Powerfist Engineer 28
    Shortblades Engineer 28
    Projectile Launcher Engineer 26
    Enhancer Manufacturer 20
    Material Manufacturer 20
    Tailor 20

What the number "30" means, is that 30% of the skill applies to the profession. So if you gain ~333 engineering skill, BAM you've just gained an entire level in Electronics Engineer.

For most (if not all) of these professions, engineer is the second most effective skill you can get towards leveling the profession. The most for each profession is a profession specific skill which helps ONLY that one profession, (for example Manufacture Electronic Equipment Skill increases Electronic profession only), but even those only raise the profession at 34%. And again, they only raise one skill.

Vehicle repairing not only unlocks BP comprehension, but by the time you've hit level 10 in vehicle repairing to unlock it, you are deep into level 4 on all/most of the above proffessions, and not far from level 5.

I know because this is what I did :)

    1) 3.494 ped/day WITHOUT trading, which will exponentially multiply my cache of wealth by the powers of compounding interest.

    2) I won't withdraw it after only 1 year.

    3) Again, I am a numbers person. I might only get bored if I start to gain 1 sweat per hour...

    4) Exactly why I am not gonna withdraw in one year, and also by "profit" I meant just in EU. Computer bills = my fun expenses.

    5) There is such a thing as sweating circles, there is also such a thing as auction browsing(I always feel like I hit a HOF when I manage to snag a good deal and hold onto it! That's hunting mining crafting right there, for 0 pec!) And I afk sweat most of the time, reading online and checking every 3-5 minutes to switch targeting to a new nusul.

    6) Furthermore that 3.5 ped/day is only 1.5 hours to 2 hours per day sweating, with 7-9 hours on the weekends, holidays, and summer breaks.

    7) McDonald's don't hire 15 year olds, I don't think.

    8) Ashi & Orthos (AND spaceflight ped cost AND 1/2 the price for sweat) are uncertain! incomes. You could easily die and get 0 ped/hr on both, while never getting evade, etc, (well you might get dodge unless you're constantly 1-shotted, in which u wont gain much) and never sweating, trading, finding a buyer, etc.

    9) Sweating is much safer income.

    10) Walking to Ashi from nearest teleport may be just as fun as sweating, considering there's supposed to be huge spawns of big-a$$ mobs that hurt a lot there. You think I want to risk my 75% TT value hoverpod? (It only took 5 mob hits... and that was when exploring)

    11) I thank you for your opinion, and wish you a good day. But again what I do not need is discouragement. The more discouragement I get the higher chance my brain will accept it as truth and no longer try for my goal, and thus that is how you get lost ped & leaving from the game. Good day!

    -----

    12) That's nice, and I know, but I figure the blueprints dropped with their minimum markup of 0.99 ped(making me ~0.4 or so ped profit on each IF on auction) would save the costs of crafting, and make it cost as much as repairing. More so, I might get cool L drops that have high markup, and if the cost per craft is only 0.02 ped, it's pretty cheap. For one thing with 10,000 ped, I could do a 500,000 click run to skill up, in which it'd be far more likely to be close to 90% return than not, with some nice loots, blueprints, and maybe a global! on the way. :)

    13) I thank you for your opinion, and that it offered advice instead of being discouraging. Thanks!

The road to succes is listening to every advice you can get, but make up your own mind before you follow any.

Since you are on arkadia, a thing to do at your level might also include doing the daily prospector mission that gives you universal ammo as a reward. With those rewards the mobs are an almost guaranteed profit. (Not a lot, but you get some skills, and it beats sweating).

Where would I find those missions? It's intriguing! I could do those when Outpost is dead, and you think I can profit by using uni ammo to shoot & selling loot? Count me in, where do I sign up??

WARNING !! Nitpickin' post here. I have nothing against you, Fulminata personally, or against sweaters & non-despositors in general. I wish you all the luck in the Entropia Universe. Just one advice from me: listen more to other people's advices. :bag:

.... your wealth will not 'exponentially multiply' by trading or anything else.
Exponential growth means in simple English that the growth is proportional to the time. Bacteria are experts at exponentially growing. Example: you start with 2,00 PED and make 1% each day by trading. First day you end with 2,00 * 1,01 = 2,01. These 2,01 PED you trade with the second day, again you make 1%: 2,01 * 1,01 = 2,04(02) PED. In formulae this is: PED_t = PED_0 * (b)^[t] with
PED_t : the PEDs you have at time t
PED_0 : the PEDs you have at t=0 (start PEDs)
b : how much you gain by trading. 1% increase is 1,01.
    [t] : time t
    After one year this will be PED_t = 2,00 * (1,01)^365 = 75,76687 PEDs.
Multiplied is rather simple and in formulae is ofthen expressed as: y = a * x. When you make 1% each day in trading, you will multiply your PEDs by 1,01. When you turned your 2 PED example start balance and turn it into 16 PED you are said to have multiplied your PEDs by 8.

What you say here is that by trading you will do both. I am not sure how you can do that, or how to express that. It means, I think, that when for example you start by making 1% per day at day 1, at day 2 you will make 1,n. In formulae this becomes: Profit = c * (b)^[t]
As an example we say that you gain 1% at day 1 in trading and also that this is multiplied by 0,5%. After one year this be Profit = 1,01 * (1,005)^365 = 6,23% that you make in trading after one year.
Of course, you start with 2PEDs and keep on investing and making profits (ever higher) with this. So we need to integrate this in the earlier formulae of the exponential growth of your PED-value.
    PED_t = PED_0 * {c * (b)^[t]}^[t] = 2 * {1,01 * (1,005)^[365]} ^365 = 2,83 * 10^290 PEDs.
At day 51 you will have a million PEDs already! At day 63 it more then a billion (1.000.000.000)!

Back to your mathemathic lessons with you!
    Yes, I felt like nitpicking

By exponential I meant making a % profit on each trade, reinvesting that profit, the base capital, and my sweat money back into new items, making a % profit on more items, reinvesting P, C & S, and so on. Dunno what else to call it...xD

My first thought was 'Wishful thinking'. Then I read on and found out you're (or so you mention) 15 years old. That threw this in a whole different ballpark. If you succeed, well done! If you don't, welcome to Entropia Universe.

    Thanks!

I feel ok telling this as the deal I'm bidding on is near-TT food and anyone buying it will lose on markup and/or will lose re-trading it, so I feel safe :)

I found a 3.24 ped lysterium deal for 3 ped on the auction, 18 minutes after it was put up. I feel like I hit a global! :D

    Definitely a trading global...

Of course, I shall have to wait 6 days 23 hours 40 minutes to profit a teensy bit off of it, but hey, ped is ped! Free ped is even better!

Yeah, those are the best, when the starting bid is below 100% AND the TT value is low, as that reduces the likelihood of someone overbidding.

In this cause, the next bid would have to be 4.00 PED (because bids are only in amounts of even PED), which would be 123.4567901234568% (what a fun number!)

Most people would balk at paying so much markup for lyst, so the only reason someone would overbid you is if they only needed a tiny amount of lyst and didn't care about the markup (which is possible).

Just curious: how is your plan to take over the world coming along? :)
