Hello and Happy New Year everyone! I'm a new player to EU and Arkadia. I completed the new player missions last night, and am ready to dive in and begin my adventures on Arkadia. I've been reading up quite a bit on the game, and realize it's quite different than the other MMOs I've played. While I'm fine with depositing, I want to play smart and be as eco as I can be while learning the game. I've also read about the mentoring program. Is this program still active and are there active mentors, or is this something that's fallen out of popularity in recent times? I'm undecided between hunting and mining at this point, but am leaning towards hunting. Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi! -Brook
Hi welcome to EU and enjoy the ride. Take your time to read and do research, do not buy PEDs outside the game ( as it is most likely a scam ) and make friends within Entropia. You will find a lot of great people here
Thanks for the advice! What do seasoned players think of the beginner kits that are for sale? Are they worth it? I was looking at the top one (gold if I remember right) but wondered if all the stuff included was worth the price.
Hello ! Happy new year and welcome to E.U ! Yes the mentoring is still active, i recommand you to contact SCILOCK in game, he is great mentor and active. He made a post about that : http://arkadiaforum.com/threads/men...ing-trading-mindforce-other.11096/#post-80837
Welcome to Arkadia! The new player starter packs are a great way to gear up and get your feet wet in the Entropia Universe. I wish they had been around when I started playing. Good luck on your journey.
Welcome! :biggrin2: If you're going to buy any Starter Pack, the gold one is indeed the one to go for. The Amp and the skill pills alone are very much worth it. Just keep in mind that everything in the Pack (besides the peds, HDNA and oil) is untradable. So you wont be able to sell it, or even throw it in the TT terminal to get the TT value back. These are the links to the most complete EU guide and most up-to-date EU guide. Mentors can be found here, and in the Mentor Registry in-game (right click>system>mentor registry). But I always suggest to just talk to a lot of people. And once you find someone helpful who you like, who is online at the same times (on the same planet), and is knowledgeable in the area you want to specialize: ask him/her to mentor you. No need to go for the first available one: a good mentor can make a big difference. You can always 'kick' a mentor if it's not working out as you imagined. But the mentor can do the same. In both cases you will lose the progress you've made. So take the time to find a good match, it's definitely worth it. And it will make your first steps in this game more enjoyable. Good luck and have fun on Arkadia.
I'll take a look for that mission chain. I wasn't aware of any other mission chains after the new player one. I did come across a number of kill missions, but didn't take them as I thought I needed to skill up more first.
Thank you for those links, May! I'll give them a read shortly. Also good to hear that the starter packs are worth it - I burned through my hoverpod already and walking everywhere kinda stinks =P
Just check your hover pod isnt compleatly toast - it might be that some one can repair it there is normally some SI ( Structural Intergrity ) if you spawn the vehicle in a populated area then some one will probably repair it just for the skills that they get by repairing it. Welcome - yes the new starter packs are very good value and also good advice about mentoring as that as and when you graduate will lead to a different armourset and an additional vehicle to use also ocheck the time zones. The gold one comes with a car as well and I still havent compleatly trashed this my friends dont like my driving for some reason. The IFN mission is great to start with as well and will introduce you to areas around Arkadia - If you then want to start skilling in hunting then you might want to look at carabok and gallard ifn kill missions ( at the final stages is evade skill implant as a reward ) . Also check the quarry and the offices in there as there are also mining missions with skill rewards as well and start of with items that offer SIB ( Skill Increase Bonus ) If you havent already in game then join /#arkadia the arkadia chat chanel and feel free to ask questions there as well Good Luck
Another good tip, if you are going to hunt something for a mission, or just because you want to, look for another mission that requires you to kill the same mob, there are a few IFN challenges you can stack with the IFN mission chain.
Welcome! If you are going to do some mining, don't forget to visit an NPC (whose name I have forgotten) at the north-east part of the quarry (inside a small office). There are some mining missions to collect there, as well as the Viceroy Armour mission Enjoy!.
Gold Starter pack is big plus and totaly worth to buy, also beside mentor important structure of game is Society (guild as in other MMOs) so Welcome to Arkadia and enjoy Entropia Universe
Well, I've been in EU and on Arkadia for one week now, and I have to say I'm having a blast! I went ahead and got the gold pack and have competed in two of the puny events so far. I finished the IFN mission chain and am now Private Brook based out of Fort Relentless. I've also found an awesome mentor (thanks for taking me on, May!) that's been a huge help in figuring out how to be eco while still having fun. Thanks to everyone that posted helpful tips - hope to see you in-world some time =) -Brook
May is cool. She's the first person I'd ask to be my mentor if I ever need to change. Keep having fun and don't get suckered into chasing swirlies at whatever cost.
