I just found a new(?) item (fragment) from Gallards. It's called Shrapnel. http://www.entropedia.info/Search.aspx?searchtext=shrapnel&type=go I just felt like sharing since there seems to be some hidden changes in the VU (TT weapons are now (L) and supposedly identical, apart from looks and name, across planets).
I think shrapnel was announced in the VU, and it has an exchange rate of 100 to 101 for Universal Ammo. Seems like it's the new common item drop from mobs
Indeed it was! Wouros, you might want to check out both the Arkadia release notes AND the EU release notes.
I saw the exchange rate between shrapnel and universal ammo. How do you make the exchange? I assume its done through the trade terminal, but what are the steps. I'm not in-game to check it out personally.
In the release notes is says you right click on the shrapnel icon in your inventory and there is a menu selection there to convert it
Snape is correct, right click the shrapnel and choose Convert to Ammo. Simple as that, I've been doing it all day.
Thanks for your help. I did that and got a slew of universal ammo. Let me ask you this. When you're using your ranged weapons, is there a sequence in which the gun uses ammo? By that I mean, does it use laser/blp first and then the universal? Or does it use whatever you have the most of first and then the other? You get the idea.
Easiest way to find out would be to have some of each type (same quantity), go shoot something and look again at the quantities.
When you have universal ammo your weapon indeed uses it up first, unless you were already shooting. (You are killing a mob, and during the kill you convert the ammo - you will remain shooting with the TT ammo) In that case, if you re-equip your gun you will start using the Uni ammo.
