I know right! I spent about 2 hours calculating what the best amps to buy would be for dropping on Arkadia, then realized I shouldn't be amping when I have no clue about resource fields anymore. Oops. I should be getting back into the game, even if it is slow to start.

D: It's my hydration glass, gotta keep your fluid levels up during extended play periods ;) Refilled and ready to go!

Its always better to custom build, pre built computers are major rip offs that have added markup on each item fitted in them.

I costom built my pc from amazon buying each part individually with free delivery and only going for 5 star review parts it cost me like £400 in total for the tower it was a budget build 3 years ago and it still plays most new games on full graphics including entropia without any problems.

with that said that is a very nice set up though you wont after worry about upgrading any time soon lol.

Yep I agree! Custom built gives you better bang for your buck, and it's quite fun too! I built the computer in the video myself, first time from the ground up! I bought all the parts from NCIX/Newegg/DirectCanada. It was way cheaper and more powerful than anything bought premade!

Definitely won't have to upgrade anytime soon, and I could always pick up another GTX 780 Ti if I need to in the future!

I posted all my gear back when I built it here some where. I am running a p6t asus motherboard. core i7 920 processor, 12gig ddr3 1600 ram in triple channel configuration, an ati 5770 vid card with 1 gig ddr5 on it. The last addition to that all was an OCZ agility 2 65 gig ssd drive. All that was put into a coolermaster haf920 case and has a custom built liquid cooling system for everything not just the processor.

I played around with it and tweeked the system to be able to run indefinatly at a 4.64 ghz overclock that is kept well within acceptable cooling limits BELOW the component degradation specs. I stopped there as from my research when you start approaching the 5ghz over clocks you need to switch to liquid nitrogen for cooling..

The system has worked great for everything I have tried to do with it with ZERO problems other then me borking the win 7 os when making an effort to see how much I could mess with it til it didn't heal itself.

Lately I have debated since the vid card is now end of cycle to upgrade. That has lead me to learn to do so requires a whole new motherboard base to build off of so I am currently investigating what I want to do and will start the piece buying as I can afford to do so. Once I do this I will post here with the new frankenbeast I am sure I will come up with.

Awesome setup Larkin. That is probably along the lines I will build up to over time as prices drop. I would after the experience I have had with mine suggest you go full on liquid cooling as well to protect that nice set up. The extra cost is well worth the money just for the noise reduction alone IMO. It will also extend the life of your gear by a huge margin by keeping it well cooled.

Thanks for the post! Sounds like you have a much more intense rig with that cooling system and overclocking (even if it's a bit older)!

Yeah upgrading from older hardware may cause you to upgrade a few more parts than you were hoping, but fingers crossed that prices drop soon!

I haven't made an effort yet into overclocking my rig; as you said I might want to grab some liquid cooling before I ramp her up a bit more. For now she's very stable and ranges from 40 - 60 degrees Celcius unless I'm doing some crazy things. Pretty happy with that for now, but I'm monitoring that closely to see if anything changes.
