Found this after joining the forum (after going to the planet) and checking the MF section:
So, I thought why not make a wishlist thread (I looked and found none) with suggestions for new MF powers special for Arkadia?

Maybe there could be chips that were found via treasure hunting or archeology, leftovers from the old Arkadians? :) or mindforce taken from Oratans?

We have corrosive chips on Calypso, how about a "Acid Dart" chip that would do acid/penetration damage?

Or a (very) high level kinesis chip allowing the user to pull some of that debris out of orbit and smashing it into the ground, causing massive AoE dmg? (ofc, the charge-up and cooldown on this would be very big, making it good only for a first strike chip)

Just trying to come up with some suggestions :p please add your own!

In general, or of a specific type?

IMO it would be nice to get unl. versions of the new (L) chips (Second Gen chips?) but... dunno.

EDIT: I have seen several people complain about it being dark on Arkadia during nighttime, how about some kind of light chip? Either as a buff or a light that you fire into the air or the area you wanna illuminate which glows for a while...?

    I want a confussion chip.

When mob gets hit with it it loses focus on player and starts attacking other mobs. The mobs attack the confused mob as it attacked them. The confused mob can not be looted however the damaged mobs can be finished off by player and looted as normal but having lost some health making it slightly more efficiant to kill.

Hmm there could be several different mob-affecting chips... the one you mentioned might be easy to misuse for harassment, sadly..

How about chips that makes mobs not attack you, but you move slower? could be as a buff or that you have to have the chip active... maybe even a chip that makes mobs attack you, which could be used by a team... the guy with the highest health and defensive skills gets the mob to attack him the most or so :)

Chips doing poison (acid?) or burn damage over time, and kinetic attacks allowing you to knockback or knock over enemies would be interesting as well :)

chip with ultra focus damage like only cold or acid, with poison effect or with radius. chip with light effect for the night or night vision. if mob can be light sensitive at night. decoy chip or immobilisation chip, even few second it could be fun in pvp. or silence chip ( the target can't use MF during time[mob or player]).

Well we do have area effect chips (strike chips) but those that currently exist are completely useless IMO...

Immobilisation would probably be balanced to require way too high levels to be actually useable except by the elite and would require implementation of bigger implants to fit the level since the chip we do have (metabolic inhibition) requires level 25 cryo hit for slowing an enemy down for 10 seconds with 38 meters range >_<

Just copy and paste some of the chips from Calypso's suggestions post.

I'd rather see some new suggestions ;)

Then again, pretty much everything has already been suggested at Calypsos forum xP

I would like to see some damage over time chips. Stuff you can put on an enemy and switch to a different weapon while it is still dealing damage. They would have to have a cooldown equal to the duration, but a lot of uses/min so you can switch weapons fast. Example:

    Incendiary Chip I
"Excites the molecules of air surrounding the target causing it to burst into flames for a short time."
    2-4 Damage per second
    30-60 Damage over 15 seconds.
    70m Range
    60 Uses/minute
    15 Second Cooldown
    15 Second Duration

You could use one of these as your pulling weapon, putting the DOT effect on the creature from the start. You could then switch to your primary weapon to shoot at it while it burns, providing a bit extra DPS. The cooldown prevents you from being able to just put the DOT effects on a bunch of mobs at once and slowly burning them all down. A similar acid version could be usable at extreme close range, almost melee, but cause more damage per second. Multiple different types of chips would be on different cooldowns perhaps, and you could ignite them and melt them with acid at the same time, while shooting them.

How about a kinetic power that allows you to move avatars/mobs/vehicles/etc (avatars and vehicles in pvp only ofc)?

What can be moved and how fast could be determined by the targets weight and the users kinetic levels and psyche... jamming or kinetic levels in the target could allow the target to resist being moved.

I believe we already have chips to slow mobs down and to speed us up. Like stated before the levels required to use ssuch things and their extremely low effectiveness has not made them popular. Im not even sure if they drop frequently enough they have hit the public eye.

As far as getting into Dots and "Buff" type chips that is crossing to far into the standard "Wow" and other magic based games for me to be impressed or want to see in EU. Its all ready copy pasted to death from other games as it is.

How about my idea for a kinetic chip that allows you to move targets?

I mean, basically all ideas have already been implemented in some game/movie/book/whatever so why not copy the cool ones? lol

Because the original premise of EU was sci-fi based and not fairyland based.

As for the force moving the mobs away that could be useful I would suspect. Personally as a miner now that I can summon my claims to me from bad places that becomes moot.

Alright, but then you could say the exact same thing about existing MF powers, and the force in Star Wars...

About the moving of mobs, I am guessing it would be more useful to use in PvP.

Well if you don't want to copy any other MMOs ever, then we should just scrap the entire game, cause all MMOs are exactly the same on some basic level. The only things making them different are the colors of the pixels, and your imagination. Mindforce has always been the EU version of Magic, it produces effects with very little explanation on how they work and without using much in the way of resources. Its magic. So if they are trying to improve the EU magic system to make it more varied and desirable, then why not throw out ideas that have been used in other MMOs.

Sure WoW has DOTs, but so didnt Everquest, and Ultima Online. They all also had single target spells, so I guess we cant use Mindforce at all. They also have swords, so Melee is out, and guns, so there goes the entire hunting profession. My point is that if you don't use some of the elements from other popular MMOs based on the sole fact that they were used in those other popular MMOs, you are just setting up the entire platform for failure based on the fear of becoming the same. Having stuff that is described in a different way, functions differently, but produces the same result isn't a big deal. Making a carbon copy of the other game is.
