    ACA ANNOUNCEMENT!

    The Arkadian Colonial Administration request all able bodied colonists to assist in the defense of the Arkadian Underground Friday the 4th July 2014 @ 19:00.


    We call all civilians with capability of weapons handling, police- and military experience to enlist for duty!
    The criminal faction known as “The Smugglers” has challenged the whole Arkadian society, and its administration, by claiming the underground as theirs.
    As a reaction to this threat, the Arkadian Colonial Administration under Director Bishop, has ordered the Arkadian colonists to set up a civilian militia in order to counteract the efforts of the criminals. The participants in this militia are expected to make patrols and act as a unified force if/when “The Smugglers” should attack in larger numbers.
    The ACA, with expert assistance of the IFN, expect this to be an ongoing struggle. IFN has guaranteed ACA that they will provide intel that will give notice of any impending attacks. However, as with all intelligence-work we can't guarantee that intel will be accurate or in time, so be prepared for assaults at any time, possibly without notice.
    No further discussion about our tactics to counter these criminals will be discussed here.

    It is time for YOU, the law-abiding colonists and Land Deed owners, to stand united as one with the ACA and show these criminals that this kind of blackmail and extortion is not tolerable.
    We won’t bow down our heads under threat!
    We won’t live on our knees!
    We will stand up defending our rights and property!
    We will not fail!

    Arkadian Colonial Administration

    Colonists of all levels are encouraged to attend. This attack is liable to be a heavy assault, so people from different time-zones are encouraged to join and leave at their convenience.
    If you are able to lend support, please assemble at teleporter ARKADIA UNDERGROUND.

    The Smugglers have set the deadline for our evacuation to Friday the 4th July 2014 @ 19:00.

    The ACA cannot predict how many days the Underground needs to be defended at this point due to lack of reliable Intel about this new enemy.

    Please check in on this thread regularly to stay updated. New information will be posted as soon as we hear anything from the ACA or the IFN.

    At this point we can make some things clear:


    1. The Smugglers are, according to advice intel from IFN, a new threat and a new type of enemy to Arkadian Colonists. They are humans and use tactics that are different from the Oratan. The Smugglers are thinking opponents who adapt, change their tactics and improvise. Participants should be prepared to patrol and move all over the Underground. If you haven’t serviced your vehicles and filled up with oil then it is time to do so.
    2. IFN will NOT be able to participate as combatants or healers in this conflict due to Imperial restrictions. The Smugglers are a civilian problem since The Smugglers are classified as criminals and not combatants. Colonists are encouraged to form teams and make sure that all medical equipment is functional and/or that the teams have combat medics. How the different teams are organized is a detail that the ACA (and IFN) won’t interfere in.

    If you can tell me this isn't going to be shared loot, I might come. Otherwise forget it.

    EDIT: Actually forget it whatever happens, holding official events on taxed land is a very bad precedent which I do not want to encourage.

    Love the integration with the Storyline; up top fighting the Oratan with the IFN, and underground punish the Smugglers with the ACA.

    Hopefully we'll run into Blazej, Daryna and Funanya during the Underground defense.

    I would suggest from the following that if a separate team encounters smugglers then it wont be shared loot.

    If anyone gets a chance to scan a smuggler ahead of the event to get weapon details that will assist with armour choices.

    If it is all over the underground, I guess regular hunters / miners are going to have a slight problem if smugglers pop up suddenly while they going about their normal business .........

    Sounds interesting, lol.

    Had 5 or 6 of them attack me underground today while mining. Dmg types seem to be pen/burn with possibly something else and they don't hit often, but do hit pretty hard. They are shared loot. They do not have the normal mob AI. They will run away, dodge shots, hide behind obstacles, etc, this makes them take much longer to kill than a normal mob. It's more like PVP than mob hunting. They will damage vehicles, even flying ones (not sure if this is from their primary attack or perhaps a wide area damage attack) and can follow you even when flying. It seemed as if I could dodge their shots by moving quickly, perhaps they have a slower turning rate and their shots don't automatically connect with you. They run as fast as I do. They behaved like a user controlled mob but they do not have the little user controlled indicator next to their name. I saw levels up to 39. These are a serious threat if you have several of them in the area or if you are an inexperienced hunter.

    Since the underground is not PVP, I assume it's not people controlled mobs.

    Just smarter AI I guess.

    If they want the underground they should just buy deeds like everyone else. Very rude behaviour.



    Looks exiting and the video is a great appetizer, but a small comment: I would add subtitles to videos like this because it is hard to understand for people with hearing problems or not very good English.

    Dont forget to update your facebook Ark devs, this needs to be in the Client loader for all Arkadians to see (not all of them are here on the forum)

    Now time to start prepering for some smuggler fun!

    Several colonist reported sightings of Smugglers in the Celeste Quarry earlier today so I decided to head there and check it out myself. I did not expect to actually find anything since throughout this week I have been notified several times about Smuggler activity but never once had I actually been able to spot one.

    This time was different... When I arrived at the quarry I did not believe my eyes. It appeared to be the leader of the smugglers, but this is nothing I can guarantee for sure. He was however in a full set of Smuggler armor and having a cap-50 smuggler equipped. I do not believe that this is the standard issued equipment for smugglers, so surely he must have been some sort of leader figure in some way.

    If my memory serves me right his armor had 35 imp/pen/burn/shrap protection and his promotion rating was over 9000.

    After a couple of minutes there, Bossman (Derek) arrived at the scene to communicate with the Smuggler. It seems as though they could potentially have been friends earlier in their lives since they knew eachother by first names. Has the smuggler been Bossmans friend before turning to the dark side? Noone knows for sure as specifics weren´t discussed at all.

    The smuggler proceeded to mock us all, saying we were too weak, yet when he sent his (in his words) weakest smugglers on us, we annihilated them with fairly few casualties, but if what he´s saying is true, we´re going to need all the help we can get tonight when they're planning on taking over our underground. He said he´d send a special welcoming party for us, so I hope you all are ready because we're gonna need all the people we can get.

    Need at last MK5 and Maybe MK6 and MK7 to Shared Loot work properly

    Split up to search mob its not funny at last
    Several guys give up after mobs dont respaw in enough number

    And How is guy in early start event in Smuggler Skin?
    I bet on David , i feeling devil laugh behind and release all hate

    Early feedback: I'm not enjoying the droids at all. Have to travel a long way out to them. Probably get my vehicle killed while i am landing. Then die in one shot. There is no point wearing armor or bothering to heal if there is a droid in the area. And I'm all they way back to the revive. I'm spending most of my time commuting to the mob. If we could tp or if vehicles were safe it wouldnt be so annoying.

    I think the event design and mob behaviour is well thought out from a story perspective but when it comes to game play it's a bit sucky.

    Two hours play for very little actual shooting and I am ready for a break.
