Smart Professionals United - herding cats since 2006

Are you a freelancer at heart, but still want to be part of a society? Are you put off by some societies' requirements on skilling, activity etc? Do you have a demanding job/studies/children that leaves you little time to play and want to meet people in the same boat? SPU might just be the society for you. The name itself is a statement of our philosophy:

Smart is how we play. We are not money wasters nor are we just a bunch of n00bs. We know our game and we make use of our knowledge wisely, we play smart.

Professionals is what we are. Some of us are quite busy in real life. Hence we are no hardcore gaming kids, we are adults trying to have fun and enjoy ourselves in nice gameplay. What we do we do right, we are professionals.

United we play. We are one trustworthy entity. We rely on each other ingame, we help each other, we trust each other. We are no loose knit group of gamers, we are a small circle of virtual real friends in an online gaming world. We are here to play together and to have fun together, we are united. And on that note :



In SPU there are no skill requirements. Whether you're an uber or fresh off the ship, as long as you have a good attitude, you are welcome to join. We also have no requirements as to your activity – you can be online every day or once a week, it doesn't matter.

Basically, you are free to do your own thing at the pace you like. We only ask that you are able to communicate in English, be civil and mature, and fund your own play (doesn't matter if you sweat or deposit, but you won't get any freebies, especially if you ask).

Most of us are based in Europe, so people from other regions might have a harder time, but are still welcome. SPU is 8 years old!

Our society is now 8 years old and we'd like to thank every current and former member of the soc for their involvement. SPU wouldn't have gone that long without you (duh ). We're organising a little celebratory team hunt and if you're considering joining us, this might be a good opportunity to get to know each other a little bit. We start tomorrow (20th September) at 4 p.m. MA time. Gathering point: Courageous Firebase. The hunt will go on for a few hours so if you can't make 4 p.m., no worries, you can join later (PM me ingame for position). Happy Birthday SPU!
