Im looking to craft but the items I want to craft not so sure about how to start. I know you have to have the blueprints etc and the required items to start to craft but I have seen a few like a custom face-mask to a can of hairspray!! How are these different items created?

do you A) Mix and match things, or B) have to have a blueprint for things like that? with the correct crafting material.

I'm wanting to start crafting simple melee weapons but seeing other items like vega looking claws (Which looked custom) I would like to head in that direction!

Any advice would be gladly appreciated!

Hairspray is looted and used in hairstyling profession.
And for a custom Make Up Mask (L) first you need to craft the Make Up Mask (L) tailoring profession with limited (common) blueprints, then once you have your Make Up Mask (L), you need Make Up to actually apply the custom look to it and then once you have the Make Up then your rl skills comes in to create a nice custom look.

Small, Medium and Large, is only different in maximum tt value to my knowledge and thats only important if you take it off and on all the time since "higher tt = more uses" but it don't decay while you have it on and you can wear it below armor and all so you need to actually take it off and on yourself to cause decay just like clothes.

To start crafting melee weapons there is a MAKO FAL-1 (L) Blueprint in the technician terminal that will tell you what you need, some Ore/Enmatt and one component(weld filament) you either buy from a component crafter or craft yourself, and with (L) items don't forget to use residue in the craft so you get a full tt item on success.

hmm I guess you mean the caly/shared power claws that's part of the brawler profession and only crafted from limited blueprints, to my knowledge the crafted claws are really high level required to craft too and most of the smaller ones was* looted on Calypso

*pretty sure they don't loot anymore since it was ages ago I looted one or any friend did

Awesome! thank your for the info. Are limited blueprints something you buy, find, or create your self? And with crafting melee weapons once you have the required material can you add in other material to either make it better, change something about it etc?

Limited blueprints are in most cases looted from crafting, some cases it's mission rewards even seen some in TT's on other planets but the common way is looting during crafting things.

every crafting blueprint have the required materials listed and the thing you can and should add when crafting (L) items is residue to increase it's TT value on success to 100% instead of only the crafting cost of that click. (you can't add different things that change the item itself, like adding different damage or such)

If you are lucky you can get a full tt without adding residue but if you want to use/sell the crafted product be sure to add residue, the residue you can use depends on what it require to craft.

    If it requires:
Ores, then you can use Metal Residue
Enmatts, then you can use Energy Residue
Oils, then you can use Oil Residue
Robot component, then you can use Robot Residue
Tailoring, then you can use Tailoring Remnants (mostly for Make Up Masks and some armor)

if the blueprint use more then one of these then pick the cheapest residue to use is a good idea.

Right on, so when you say "Loot" from crafting, does crafting give you loot? I have never crafted anything yet, figured I would do some homework before I stated! :)

Loot in crafting is the blueprints, residue, recovered materials that you use for that click and the item itself.
Sometimes even some precious stones like Garnets, Opals, Emeralds and so on if you get a really nice globle or hof.

One more thing is how do you refine an item and where do you refine it at? I have a few items from mining that need to be refined.

Refiners are available from the TT, you can also buy more advanced ones (bigger, slightly more eco) from auction (they're crafted).

Alice's guide to Entropia is generally acknowledge as the best guide to the basics of entropria. I encourage you to grab a copy and read it. It has some info about the mechanics of crafting which you may find helpful.

I want to caution you that crafting can be a very expensive profession to get into. Stuff that is cheap to craft may not have much MU or sales turn over. So skilling can incur a significant loss. You need to know what sells and how the likely MU compares to the likely cost to craft. So a good understanding of the economy gives you a significant advantage. I had a go at crafting when I first started crafting, looked at the outcomes and then stayed well away from the profession for around a year, while I built up my ped card and my understanding of the game.

If you really want to get into crafting early, it's probably a sensible idea to get yourself a mentor who is experienced in crafting. Good advice from a player will minimise the chance of poor decisions that cost you dearly.

    Regards,
    KikkiJikki

Thank you I will def read the guide! I'm looking to start early as I'm not to worried about recouping any PED into RL Money, but looking to keep the PED in the game circulating and help the economy. Most of the items will be made for personal/practice use. But if you know of any Mentors who could help I would appreciate it!
