    Hi Dev team
I wonder if the real life Planet Arkadia shop has been tossed about yet?
You could sell real life items via an ingame NPC or on the website. For the ingame NPC you could Operate the NPC, browse the items, order and add in payment details via PED card and delivery address details.
    Items include;
    T-Shirts with Planet Arkadia logo
Hoodies (A black Planet Arkadia hoodie with the logo on the back)
    Beanies and caps
    Mouse mats
Cups (I would love a cup with an Arkadian action sequence on it)
    Coffee cup place mats
Coins, Arkadian edition PED coins, minted. Say 10, 50 and 100Ped denominations with Arkadian mobs
DVDs with the EU/Arkadian software, so people can order and load it, saving bandwidth downloading the 10Gb
Eventually books, published on the Arkadian theme (MindStar9 would like this :)
Books about Arkadian mobs, ores, items, maps etc etc
    So many ideas
Even could allow sponsors to sell stuff, like Alienware could be linked in

    Cheers

There are some issues around economies of scale relating to this concept. PP would need to have a reasonable expectation of n shirts sold with in a certain period for it to be worth doing a print run of that size. And for it to be economically feasible, n needs to be a reasonably large number. Otherwise the production cost per unit is too high.

Also, I'm not sure it makes a whole lot of sense to sell the software within the game, since the purchaser already has the client installed if they can access the shop. Perhaps from the website.

None of this is true. Hasn't been since 2000. Cafepress anyone? :)

I'd love to see RL items drop from mobs, via tokens or something.

Farm Scoria Stalkers... get a drop that is a RL car :D lol.. possibilities.

Let's review the prices for creating new items at CafePress based on units produced:

    http://www.cafepress.com.au/cp/info/help/index.aspx?page=personalized_product_services.aspx

Clearly there is an economy of scale at work here. So what's the price point at which item x becomes a desirable purchase? Taking into account their own overheads, how many does the PP need to produce to be able to sell at that price to actually profit from the operation?

I continue to assert that there needs to be sufficient guaranteed demand for item x, to make it worthwhile for the PP to implement sales.

    Regards,
    KikkiJikki
