    I think I know of at least one other couple who met and got married in EU. And I know of a few other couples who met online in IRC and other venues and settled down as well.

    My sis is married to a guy she met in IRC (Internet Relay Chat).

    I have met various interesting people on IRC, later forming business relationships with some, and some who have been close friends till today (since about 15 years ago), and my first GF was also from IRC (amicable break up and we still friends).

    Most people think that online relations don't work. And there is a stigma attached to such relations. Personally, it's a very good medium to meet people and bring it further.
