Hello all, just saw a post on the Entropia Forum:

So probably a good idea to stop crafting until next update or until MA says it's been fixed.

You can also find the main thread on PCF, which was started in July when the success rate was bumped down to about 35% (instead of the normal 42% on QR 100 maxed bps), and later posts (starting here) began when the real emergency started (rate lowered to around 20%).

This is a very serious issue, only been mentioned a few times on this forum so far. I have stopped crafting, putting all my BPs into my apartment so I am not tempted to make any runs, with the exception of my ball bearings bp which I'm using for tests so I'll be able to tell when the bug is fixed.

I was unaware this was an issue but I can confirm its been happening to myself and my crew on the XIV.

Last night we did multiple 100-1000 click runs and we averaged a 21.6% success rate. Hell my Ark-0 rate was 3.4%!!!

I will let them know to stop crafting anything until this is looked at for the sake of our peds...two of my crew are non-depositors too.

Thanks for the heads up Mentor...I still give you a 5 star rating every time I log in...heh.

One day it might actually stick *wink*

Same with mining. I've stopped for the time being. It's not just me....it's many of the miners who have been around for quite some time.

Or the totally crappy crafting is affecting demand for ores and the system is adjusting itself.

Might be a good time to do the Carabok mission.....

I don't see what all the fuss is about, these are normal returns when Mindark are concerned ROFL

If MA staff are making a public comment about it, then I think there is something there to worry about and take note. They aren't known for commenting on nothing.

I'm finding the current situation quite challenging. My tentative conclusions are along the same lines as Strash. Absolute success rate is down, Long term TT returns are relatively stable. But that presents significant problems for me.

I craft to keep my shop(s) stocked. So I will do a small crafting run with the aim to produce 1 to 3 units of a specific item that has recently sold. Some of these items are quite expensive per click - say 50 ped or more. Previously I could plan on an average of 3 clicks to produce one unit and allow enough material to cover 6 clicks per unit. It's now not unusual to require 10 clicks for a success. So I need to hold significantly more materials before I attempt to craft items. As I stock a wide selection of hunting gear, I need to keep a large selection of material on hand - ideally I want to be buying when the price is good rather than when I need it. And I need to keep a far larger stockpile of materials now, which ties up more peds.

The stable TT return doesn't really help me, as increased res production along with increased material consumption does not work in my favour, owing to relative MU of those materials compared to res.

My returns are far more volatile now owing to the increased variability in results. It all feels a lot more like gambling and that's something I have been working to avoid. Despite all of that I am still managing to come out ahead so far, though I have had to increase some prices, and some bps are not currently clickable owing to issues with cost and availability of relevant materials.

All in all it's a very stressful time. I have no problems with game mechanics parameters being dynamic and with needing to adapt to changes in circumstance but I do feel MA could have alerted us to implemented changes so we don't have those depressing wtf moments as we discover things not going according to plan.

I stopped crafting a few weeks back. I tried a few test runs which were terrible both on Arkadia and Caly. I have a few BPs I am dying to click, but need the success rate to be corrected again. I am struggling to understand how this decline in success rate can happen all by its self. Over all it is effecting the economy for miners and hunters on both planets who can't sell their gear. The auction house is full of stuff no one is buying atm. Maybe this is Entropias recession?
The question on everyone's mind is whether the deposit rates have dropped off and the fluid Ped in-game is lower making it very difficult to maintain a loot pool and CLD returns?

I hope Chris can shed some light on this dilemma players are facing atm.

Could be ppl taking a break after migration. I remember mining being crap this time last year, even with the old loot system.

I have pointed out before that something was wrong with the success rate, I notice it at the start of the summer and after some weeks i was sure something must be wrong, so I sent a support case about it, but got a "nothing have change" reply.

Today's test run of 500 clicks on BBs was 26% success rate... a little better than last run but still no crafting for me today.

Well Kitten you can still log in and let us look at all your outfits.

Hell, you can even change right in front of me, I won't mind I promise. :cowboy:

    On topic note...

I just did a tiny 10 click run for Ark-0 rifles with full residue use for full TT just to see if random shots in the dark might change anything.

2 utter fails, 6 near hits, 2 successes (20% exact) and a 67.87% return before MU of 2 ped on the 2 guns.

More importantly for me as a ship owner, welding wire has gone up about 20% in MU because of this and that makes it where there is less and less reason for us to go out and get shot at unless we raise our warp prices to cover the additional cost.

When you burn as much wire as the XIV does, 20% bump in cost is a decent size bite out of the pocket....

I got a warning from Neil the other day, and ended up with a global the next morning, they still do occur, but I have noticed the rates drop as well. But I also feel the the skill gains and BP qr bumps occur more, as do near sucesses, so more freebee's at the end of the run. I am going to advise all crafters I know to only craft when they have ped to use skilling, and not expect reasonable returns, as well as file a support ticket and see what MA has to say. I have done well crafting, and in light of my recent offerings of a crafting school and BP loans, this cant come at a worse time, or a better time to fix.

This has occured since I moved my crafting from FOMA to Ark, so I thought it was just that Arkadia had lower rates. Ty for calling it to my attention.

This happens EVERY summer for the last 10 years. the system is dynamic and people play less durring the summer so the whole system goes wacky and it usually mean loot in general sucks, then MA usually brings some new features in a VU in the fall and loads of people come back to play and it's all cool again.

    Hi guys,

For what it's worth, I've just been crafting a batch of armour on Arkadia. Previously I had also noticed the huge changes talked about in this thread, but the run I've had today feels like it has somehow gone back to the way it used to be.

I can't prove it with data, but it feels like it's fixed.
