I commend you on informing people Alricbezel, but that doesn't give you the right to start honking on at the forum staff for doing their job.

No one is on a power trip here so you can put your trumpet away and get off your soapbox. Plenty of people can see this thread going by the posts. We all agree on the seriousness of this situation, thats why we temporarily suspended the Naming and Shaming policy we normally adhere to and why we've also taken the measure of using our contacts with Ark Studio staff to push this issue up the chain as well.

Now give it a rest and keep submitting the support cases so this gets the proper care and attention from MA that it should.

Possible solutions for players, who misclick

If shit happen, you have the last opportunity to save something (sweet is irrelevant)
For Privateers to make a summon is required to be docked to the Planet Calypso Space Station (or other planet SS).
    There's no PvP.
On each ship must be a Trade Terminal (near Teleport, you cannot use TP because ship will be in space quick) on the wall.
Your task - to found it in those 10-20-30 seconds until the Privateer will fly to PVP zone and pass all the loot (of the sections of Materials and Mined Resources) in TT, turning it into money.
Then your lost will only be for the cost of MU loot and teleport to the planet.

As an alternative to the solution written above - you can immediately go offline after summon and write a SC to the MA with a request to get you out of there ('stuck' section) and did not enter the game until it happens!

Another way to salvation, which you can use - the next one: Privateer pilot to go to bed early or late. After summon immediately exit the game and go online through 5-6 hours (or a couple of days + 5-6 hours). Much of a chance that no one would expect you and you will perish in space, as will be thrown out of the ship. However, this method is associated with high risk. Best choice - write to MA!

Any news on this? I haven't heard anything through back channels so does anyone know anything? Is the summoning still happening?

EDIT: Just got word that it is still ongoing. Please people be careful about what you absentmindedly click on while playing.

I really hope that MA get a shift on and do something about this soon.

Well, I hope people are still filing plenty of support cases on this.

Update: Last night, I had it on good authority that this is now being looked into by a "senior" person at MA and that said person "does not like what this player is upto one bit".

Sufficed to say, we will need to be patient and let things happen as they will.

Bump this thread as required and keep us all appraised if you are still receiving summons from the person or ship involved and file your support cases as necessary.

    That's wonderful news

I hope MA is not gentle with the ban hammer on them. I don't dare think of the number of disenfranchised new players this event created.

I absolutely admire how Ark community rallied to the danger, and the decisions that mods team made.
Was a tough call, but u made the right decision.

    Respect!

They are still at it, a few more newbies were stuck at caly SS too.

I wonder what is the benefit of killing and looting these poor sweating newbies. Hope they all get banned for life with no chance to withdraw their PED or items.

    Strange...

Strange how MA considers that peds are real money, but they do not consider stealing these peds as real stealing...
That's why I have definitely stopped to deposit, with many other friends as well.
Apparently they haven't learned the lesson yet. Bad choice.

Apparently support is giving out glib and stock answers to support cases filed.

This is bullshit. Does support know how many times the average player clicks in the center of their screen every minute? There is simply no excuse for these messages to appear in the center of the screen.

If you, or your colleagues, have connections with MA staff, they need to be made aware of the depth of feeling regarding this issue.

Although I have not been affected by this issue, my soc mates have. I will be filing a strong protest with support when I get home to let them know "clear warning" reply to someone who apparently lost ped to this scam is seen by more than a few users as a big "f*** y**" to their customers.

    I can sympathize with you.
However, the warning is really quite clear (for old players, not for noobs, yes). I'm not sure that the support shall return to you (or your friends) money immediately. About misclick: I'm on the guest list at the two ships EFA long time ago and never accidentally clicked on the confirmation key. Players also have a chance to save all after summon, but do nothing. Why?
In addition, support is not required to compensate the loss of your money. If the violators will be punished, money will be calculated, you may (I repeat, may!) get a refund. After investigation.
My general goal - being removed from the guest list Windy, and it looks like support did it (there were no more summons). About the rest I care quite a bit.

I and others have sent multiple support cases over the past year or so detailing the problems with the summons window. So far, each time, support has been clueless, believing that it's not possible to accidentally get ported to space.

I too have been concerned about accidentally clicking on the numerous unannounced summonses for quite some time. But my concern was wasting a few ped tp'ing back to the planet after our soc pilot summoned me. I was not concerned enough to file a support case about it.

This is an entirely different matter.

A little history may serve as a useful illustration.

A long, long time ago, there was no confirmation when you sold your items to the tt. People complained.

MA added the confirm button to the transaction after a while.

A long time ago, people complained about tt'ing rare and unique items. MA support emailed back that there was a confirm button and players were responsible for reading the pop up message, yada, yada, yada....until a very prominent member of the community accidentally tt'd his UL OA-105.

We still are not able to "lock" items so they can't be tt'd as has been requested multiple times but, after the UL OA-105 incident, MA will return the item you accidentally tt if you file a support case and pay them 1000 ped. Fair enough, it takes time to research these incidents.

My point is that people should scream, and scream loudly. And keep screaming until MA makes an official pronouncement.

This isn't about a few people losing ped (maybe their whole net worth) by trying to sneak past the pirates in space, this is about the basic integrity of the game. At this point, the only communication from MA support has been a big fat "fuck you" to everyone. If the community screams, MA will reverse themselves. It's happened before.

I will vent my displeasure at support and let them know that "you clicked accept" is not acceptable.

    >allow Taxi Goblin Goldy to add you as a friend

Seems they are breaking out the MS now. Watch out for FR from goldy and summons from dreadnaught.

 Common MA, by allowing this to continue (for almost a whole god damn week now) you are condoning the actions of these scammers.

Ark devs, PLEASE keep your boot on MA's neck on this. You are losing VAST numbers of new players to this. Valuable new customers that unknowingly accepted, got sucked up into the sky, looted and then left to rot on the space stations.

Not friend list, because i'm not in Windy's friend list. From Starfinder XXXII guest list.
I also invisible now in Player Register
I do not see any more problems since I do not visit public places
In order for the pilot to add you, he would either see you, or you have to be his friend

Update: Support cases have been answered en-masse by support. No compensation, and the summoning is legal. GG.

I did not get such a response, so long as I do not believe you, until I get a reply personally.
If this is true, then the EU is waiting for the outflow of new players who have lost everything because of just such pranksters.
I do not leave, do not wait for ...

Just an FYI that I started this thread at the Entropia Forum since there is a section there "Ask MindArk" ... and I asked them when they're going to respond to the community. I didn't see any other thread of this nature, so thought I would at least give it a shot.
