    Hello everyone.

Just have a concern as of the past week to two weeks. Is it just me or has the mining hit ratio for ore gone down considerably? I am struggling to stay at 25% hit ratio. I only mine ore by the way and use lbml. This has been for about the past two weeks now and am curious as to other miners of Arkadia. I am seriously considering moving from Arkadia and giving Calypso or another planet a shot.

Also, I mine at least 200-400peds ,ore only, once or twice a day, unamped, so the hit ratio I am giving you isn't just small runs here and there. What are your hit ratios lately? Have they gone down as well or is it just me and a terrible past two weeks? Thanks for any feedback and good luck on your runs!

Could a mod move this thread to Mining topic? Thanks a bunch and sorry for the inconvenience.

for a higher hitrate, use atleast 2 types. for a higher amount per claim, use 1 type. hitrate is lower on 1 type but higher tt per claim, 2type you get more claims but less tt per claim

I only know that the success rate in crafting have been really bad for me last couple of weeks, I have done some mining too and I can't see any big different. But I don't mine that much.

Bro, I'm a heavy miner. And yeah I do experience a drop in hit rate. Ark used to be my ped cow. Now I'm Ark's cow instead lol

lol ofcourse u get higher hit rate if u drop 2 instead of 1 type and calculate 100 drop instead of 200 what u should do..

and what it comes to the "bigger tt if u drop 1 type" buuullshit.. atleast i dont see any difference

im not an idiot. thanks for thinking that though.

13 claims 2type per lvl 8 amp on averge (so 20x2 drops),
on 1type (with the last click dual just to decay amp to 0) 40 drops, i get 10-11 claims, with the same % tt return.

well cant ever be too sure.. but yes i agree i tend to get better results on hit rate when dual dropping..

Nothing has changed. AGAIN.. Caly has an event running so funds are being diverted to paying for all that. It happens EVERYTIME they do one. These threads pop up all the time. Its been that way since I was here probably before I was here and will be here in every future event held there. Its simple to track. Read forums see when they have an event starting.. watch your returns drop by about 30-35% a day or so before up to 2 or 3 days after and then go back to normal.. Some of you may be lucky enough to be given a catch up hof once they are over if you cycle enough to feed the ubers over there for the event.

I don't normally mine for enmatters as most of their markups are low, especially compared to ore. Been mining like this a couple months straight so my enmatter mining skills are way behind my ore.

I've also changed my finder from an F-105 to an eMine FS (L) so maybe my hit ratio is suffering because I am mining a bit too deep for mining on Arkadia?

Hearing from a couple of you say that we are all feeding the Migration Event is upsetting.

the whole migration thing is just a feeling with no facts. since we are on that track atm, here's my view on it:

Yes, loot is changed as a whole during migration, but it is not so much "moving" loot to those mobs, especially from mining or crafting. rather, the entire loot is changed so allow for a higher ceiling and a lower base, resulting in bigger hofs when they happen. this is however across all types of activities rather then just hunting (or whatever event is out).

p.s: long run, same return. short run: big loss or big win.

Here are some facts about mining. Take them or leave them. I know miners are a very superstitious bunch so you don't have to change your beliefs just because I say so.

Ore, Enmatter, and Treasure claims are independent; hit rate and size are not affected by choice of which you search for.
The only factor determining hit rate is where you drop your probes; if a claim is in the ground inside your search radius, you will find it.
Claim size is determined for a particular avatar according to MA's "dynamic" calculations.

I have observed no (detectable) change in hit rate or TT return on Arkadia over the last two weeks. Still 25-32% on runs of over 100 drops. If you're getting a low hit rate, your only solutions are to try different areas or times of day, or use LBML to make sure you're not overlapping drops. If you're getting a low TT return but a decent (28%+) hit rate, then you should consider other factors that affect claim size (for example, more hunting between runs).

Mmh I have been experiencing a bad ore hit rate ( and return rate) also, but it's been going on for longer than just 2 weeks.
My enmatter hit rate (and return rate) are very good though.
I'm thinking the areas are either overmined for ore (because sometimes I hit a nice ore patch anyway) or my personal luck is quite low on ore but quite high for enmatter (ive had 2 enmatter hofs and a global in the past weeks)
I try to find an area that has a good hitrate for ore to limit the loss on my ore. My enmatter is good everywhere so i try not to look at this too much.

My advice would be to keep changing area until you find a good spot where your hit rate is acceptable. If nowhere is good, try another activity for that day or log off :)

    Greetings

Returns are fine. The new "post-modified-loot" system has longer input/output cycle, encouraging more conservative use of amplifiers.

I guess if you want 10 theories about loot in EU, just ask 5 people.

    Here's my answer.

I notice my returns are down substantially just as they are every year at this time. Two words....summer and migration.

For me, it's not speculation. I total every run, tt & mu and keep weekly and monthly totals. This year is no different than any other year. Loot (at least my loot) will get better in the fall when the weather worsens.

    My two pec....

Been mining on Ark for some weeks now.

I always mine for ore - enmatter - treasure.

Dropping 3 ped/drop makes me find always something in a 500 ped run.

    I rarely have nothing found.

Altho some of your advise is wise and pertinent.. please stop stating what you say is fact. You mine one of many different ways to mine. If that works for you great.. Stop stating things are facts tho as you are soo very wrong with the don't over lap drops thing. I routinely end up with anywhere between 5 and 12 or more at times claims within the two small rings on radar.

So? That has nothing to do with overlapping drops. You can find clusters like that without wasting part of your probes on areas you've already searched. As you say, there are many techniques, and not surprisingly, there are also many miners who complain about loot.

I closely examine the techniques of dozens of miners and compare them to their returns. GMC miners using my techniques are averaging over 99% TT return since GMC started, and this includes newbies while they're being trained (some have to unlearn "techniques" they learned on the forums). The only miners who have under 90% TT returns after a few thousand ped cycled using my techniques are those who don't hunt at all.

If you believe that the following statements I gave as "facts" are incorrect, I am interested to hear why you believe that:

I'm curious how would more hunting between mining runs increase the hitrate or the claim size?

It affects claim size, not hit rate. Claims are "in the ground" and have specific X,Y coordinates but no depth or mineral identity until you find them. So nothing you can do will affect hit rate (other than choice of mining location, ofc).
