Well, I don't know if I am doing better or worse then the average newbie. I did some reading before jumping in, did a deposit to get some PED to start things rolling, found Planet Partners and have gotten about 10-15 PED from them so far, found Greenleaf Mining (Well Met Neil) and got a couple of runs under my belt for mining (thanks for doing that Neil) and found a few helpful people along the way (XXIV and MC Space Ships, Kevin VII and Jordan my often hunting partners to name a few) and now...I'd like a bit of information from the forums (or outright help).

I have one person that buys my hides and a few nick nacks. But I am getting quite the store of items in the storage terminal. Not enough to really auction them (though I got a couple of bids on items in the auction) but decent amounts.

Can anyone tell me if there are regular buyers or give me some leads so I can start selling?

I have been haunting the Quarry and the Outpost trying to find someone, that is how I found the one hide buyer after all.

Second, I have noticed there are not alot of sweat groups anymore. I managed to find ONE in the last 2 weeks (7 days playing) and it was at the Outpost on Nusul. Was a good run but since then its been Gallard sweating where you get hit 20 times for each time you manage to pull the sweat...much much slower. I understand this is not supposed to be greased lightning on generating PED or skills...I'm enjoying the ride too (done exploring, mining runs, hunting alot etc) but, would be nice to find some sweat groups or have a list of people I could partner up with for hunts and/or sweat runs to keep the weapon repaired and ammo in it.

    Any suggestions?

Lastly, is there any good way to order items? For example if I want certain clothes, can I talk to the crafters and see about getting them made? I mean where would I find them, like a forum here or something. I tried to do the order on the auction but...don't think I fully understand that just yet...close...but no cookie.

And I would like to know more about events too. I found one area and know how to set them up but I noticed there are not alot of them on Arkadia and would love to find out about joining one or possibly even doing on...I'm not rolling in PED but I might be able to do something but, I just don't have nothing worth putting up for prizes to be honest.

I was thinking something along the lines of a fairly cheap( .50 PED a ticket or free even) event where new players or lowbie players could do the event. And likewise, other than the event list, where can we find out about events on Arkadia?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Just on clothes, it's probably worth posting a buy thread here in the forum but also have a look around the shops at Celeste Harbour and Sanctuary cove. A couple specialise in clothing and others often have a small selection. I don't think an auction order is a good idea for this as you will want something with specific colour\texture and I dont think you can specify customisations in the order interface.

    Hunting loot:

To be honest, many people TT a good amount of their hunting loot. The MU is just too low on much of it to make it worth saving up large stacks, unless they specifically need the item for crafting and/or have a ton of ped. It is risky to post something for low MU (1%-5%), if it doesn't sell you not only have tied up your ped all week but have lost the ped required to post it in the first place. You can of course wait around Quarry hoping that someone will buy the stacks, then you avoid auction fee, but again your ped is tied up for quite awhile. Also, you have to keep in mind that the items have low MU because everyone either has some already, or can get it for themselves very easily. So you need to learn what loot people actually want, and what is basically TT food. It can be depressing to think of throwing away MU, but unless you have a ton of ped this may be your only option. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to TT everything, just that you need to read/watch/learn what is worth keeping and what is not. That is part of EU.

    Sweat Group:

As far as I've seen, the only place there is ever a sweat group is at Celeste Outpost. Sadly it is quite rare to see one these days. Prior to the landscape changes they made to that area months back, the Outpost used to have tons of people around. Typically I would see between 10-20+ people there at any given time of the day. My advice is to start a sweat group yourself. Just start sweating the Nusul by yourself, and I bet folks TPing in will see you and join in. Someone has to start the group after all... it doesn't appear magically. lol

    Purchase Orders:

These are typically used to order large stacks of good, for crafting. As Kikki pointed out this wouldn't be a great way to buy clothes. The way it works is that you order X amount of Y item/stack, and set MU at Z. Whenever someone sells a stack smaller than or equal to X, and the MU they set is less than Z you will automatically buy the item/stack. It gets placed in your Won page on the auction. Keep in mind though, that this won't work well on small orders, as people might not be able to sell to you at your given MU.

    Events:

Never set one up, so I'm not sure how it works either. But if you get one going I'll join in. :D

    Good luck out there!

Thanks for the replies...any tips on missions or where to find people?

To show you how new I am, Neil just happened to show me the IFN Trading (Supply) place the other day. I had been through it on the initial missions but never new it had a TP there...lol.

Welcome to the forum and to Arkadia Dwarf! Have you thought about joining a society? A little easier to organize a group hunt/mission/event with fellow society members. Happy hunting!

I have an app to Greenleaf Rangers (Neil's) and trying to get him to accept me as mentor. He is full on mentor slots and is always very busy as you can imagine.

I got a great and I mean GREAT group together a few nights ago. Took a bit, about 4 hours, to get up to 4-5 people. Then it started to grow...when I had to log out we were at like 15.

Even had a few mindforce users healing us (2) and buying our sweat right there. One even was giving double what the going rates are which was highly nice of her. The other was giving us pointers and tips.

Not overly profitable for 8 hours, 4 PED roughly, but it was a HIGHLY enjoyable time. Made me feel kinda like we where having an old backyard cookout.

Only downside was one troll that had to try to mar the occasion by stealing the nasuls but he gave up relatively quickly thankfully, 30-45 min.

I didn't want to leave the group...I mean, I was up till 4am when I told myself 2am this time was the absolute latest..lol..I had to get up at 630am...did by 7am...getting old...lol

For sweating I recommend any of the Firebase Academy TP locations.
Each has a small spawn of Carabok and a Turret, past all the info personnel.
You might find a couple folks, but not a true "group".

    but the sweating is good.

Sounds like a plan. I know there is a massive spawn of gallards and carabok at the quarry right now since the patch. I try to check the outpost for Nusul groups because you can get alot of sweat off a Nusul in one go. But for "solo" carabok have 10 and gallards 15. Just slow because of the disruption when they hit me.

Well, TBH...not overly sure as I am not sure what is available, styles, cost in PED..etc.

I have an idea of the look that I want, don't get me wrong, and know the colors...black/gold or silver/deeper red overall.

But as for "the style"...well...again not sure what is available and have not found a place to view how things look.

I know I would like a black cowboy style hat...but...was told its like 100-150 PED depending and well, starting out that is just a bit out of the price range...heh.

Is there a time we could meet on Ark and maybe discuss it? Also do you need cloth extractors? I got alot just sitting in the old storage terminal but trying to find someone to be a reliable buyer ATM.

This bring me to another question too...what is a "realistic" stake on a starting (or monthly) PED amount for a new player.

I understand I could start at 0 PED (too late for that but yeah) or I could go all nuts and start with 1,000,000 ped and blow it in a week.

I'd like to start with say 200 PED and make it grow (or at least last a good while...say a month or three).

the keywords "black gold silver red" mean any outfit will run into the many k of peds ^.^

the cowboy hat is called "rancher" and I have the blueprint for that theres some in my shop and i have some blank ones with no color or texture added yet nice and cheep

take a peek in celest north 7 shop you can get an idea. Its the shop with the giant sign out front with the VU notes on it

200 ped a month is plenty if your using proper starting armor and weapons if your a hunter. the key is to stay within your skill level and be efficient

all activities in game pay back around 90% per ped cycle long term its markup to other players that makes break even or profit

Oh yeah, those purty colors do make the price go up JUST a tad...:fineprint:

I'll stop by and see what you have up. Found a pair of shades with a little help last night for half a ped under MU. I know that isn't much but for a newbie, it is...:dribble:
