So once again, it says only that wants MA
This does not mean that it should be, and should all enjoy

Understand that people feel sorry for a peaceful but not rich country that has decided to go the way of the rich belligerent neighbor ...

We're in agreement there. that is exactly the thing.. MA requires it to be so.

    ----

As my post was intended point the finger their way, I'm fairly confident it's not necessarily Arkadia Studio's fault, desire, or motivation to have the PvP zones in as much as it was just a necessity. Evident to me by the small patches of real estate dedicated to PvP.

So what is truly the intent by some on here stating they were leaving as a sort of threat or resulting consequence almost? Calypso's got way more PvP area than Arkadia. Calypso's got more of the very content that's being complained about here.

I'm just hoping that these "complaints" are not intended to do more harm than to provide anything constructive.

I guess it depends on what you think qualifies as a decent fap. I have the bps for all the gyros up to 35 so far and none of those require pvp-zone-only loot. But it might help with cost to make some enhancers.

I'm not a fan of the pvp introduction either. I'm just not interested in that aspect of the game. But I'm not gonna let it ruin my day.

No one says they're quitting...just would prefer Arkadia without pvp and will now stay playing on Calypso instead...it's an opinion just like some people Think it's a good thing some Think it's a bad thing..only an opinion but since we've played for like around 10 years we know the underlying reasons for this abrupt change to have a pvp lootable zone on Arkadia and it's sad to see it happen..

The lootable PvP isn't for me either. I'll just avoid it if I can and as long as I cannot enter it accidentally and get looted it's not so bad I guess.

Slither, I'm not sure I completely understand how what you've said means the argument is BS.

It seems you're saying that in order for high level L faps to exist, someone has to mine in PvP.

It seems to ME (though I have no PvP experience myself) that this means as long as there are a few people out there who are happy to go mine in PvP, then anyone wanting the resources from that area simply needs to pay what it costs to buy off the miners in there. Sure, there's supply/demand issues that influence cost, but with enough PvP miners there would be enough supply, wouldn't there?

If so, isn't it true that as long as there are enough people happy to mine in PvP, the rest of us still stand to get whatever benefit we're prepared to pay for? And if so, isn't that a specific benefit that wouldn't exist if PvP didn't exist?

If I'm still making sense, then it seems that anyone who doesn't want to go there doesn't have to, and that anyone that does stands to get paid handsomely for taking the risk.

What am I not understanding here?

All this "but now we need to go there to get it" stuff does not make sense. the pvp area makes the resources local, resulting in some traders earning less but the ability to craft enhancers and such easier. Korwil's are still avaible outside pvp, so it's not a mob lost either.

and those saying because there is lootable pvp you don't go to arkadia but stay on calypso....there are 2! zones on caly that work the same way.

The comment about going back to Calypso to play because there's lootable PvP on Arkadia really escapes my logic ... just like on Caly, you make the decision not to enter a lootable PvP zone, and I think Dave and Tim, along with NetViPer and others have given clear and reasonable explanations as to why the lootable PvP areas will work, not to mention that it was something they had to do because of resources that are dictated by MA to be available only in a lootable PvP zone - did I understand that correctly?

What I'm not understanding, is why this has become rocket science.

I will explain to you the reasons why I moved to Arkadia. Because only on this planet I could go wherever pleases and do whatever I want without fear of school boys who get shot just for the fun of me when I'm do a mining run, and they do not care, they will loot me or not. Calypso (all on Amethera) - is PVP! Now, running on the planet, I have always to keep this in mind, that there are some areas in which I should not have entered running to keep my comfort. This is annoying. I am not totally against PvP, but it should not apply to me, but now the area where I enjoyed as a miner, closed to me. No matter what added more other territories, but the place where I like to run - now closed.
Probably I would mind nothing if A-Team would have added the night (Dark) side of the planet, making of it the same dustbin as Rocktropia, and would there PVP, pyrite, and everything else. But now the PVP area created where there were none before, and someone is trying to convince me that is very good. For the economy - yes. For me, and a very large number of players do not. There was nothing difficult to do the other side of the planet (except for long careful creation of a dull landscape with dirty garbage cans and piles of shit, dead people and corpses with flies and worms). Or should just to draw two islands and let in these islands go about their business who wants to kill and plunder. And it is desirable that these islands could not be reached by land, even accidentally for miners, it was impossible to reach there. That would be correct. In general, I believe this is what caused such big debate on emerging areas.

However, in a fit of anger someone forgot about nerfed Aakas - this is a minus. (Here is a thread - http://arkadiaforum.com/showthread.php?8665-Did-instance-loot-get-fixed)
I assure you that the new looting method will have a greater impact on the economy of Arkadia, than all the PvP zones together.

So, I'm tired chew over this :)

Finally it should be noted that there are one advantage - for example Vorn Pellets are no longer the exclusive property of 8 Coins, I found this enmatter in new areas, along with tons of Narcanisum.

PS I found an interesting effect - now male character when receiving damage makes sounds first like a man, then as a woman :D

Ok I spent a littler time checkin things out. Time to speak on them. For my loyal fan base look away and hold your ears. First off Oratan miners AWESOME job on them. No crackhead regen that screams we are robbing you blind intentionally, and a nicely balanced health so they don't take hundreds of ped ammo each to kill. I like the fact you set the spawn when you are ready and with the nearly nonexistent agro you can casually do the spawn. Best of all NO DAM NINJA SPAWNS!!!!! I got a nice rotation of standard loot and a respectable item drop rate. I depo'd just to go do a few new things so we shall see what the normal looting will be after the depo sympathy bells stop. (I'm hoping this is normalized as it made the hunts enjoyable for the first time in a long time for me).

I am and always will be against pvp in a RCE game because it attracts an element of people nonconductive to fun AKA More assholes. I am a miner by trade and by choice and quite frankly am getting fed up with Mindark FORCING me to be a hunter. I moved to Ark specifically because here that is not or was not the case. The pvp zone that was added was put smack in the middle of one of my favorite mining areas so that is just one more strike against it in my book.

The rearranging of mined recourses strikes a MAJOR nerve for me as I have explored and mined nearly every square meter of Arkadia to find and map the resources not looked it up in some exploiters list and mapping program. We don't see these things happening to hunters where they are FORCED to respend all their money, time , and effort to recover what they earned at the whim of some not so bright people ( Happy Mr. Snape? 8=}} ) (EDIT (Snape): Yes thankyou Bill ;))

The bonded armor well yes technically you can choose to NOT do the mission to get it. Realistically it sets precedence if a lot of people accept it for MA to stick it to us yet again as this is a whole new way to devaluate what we invest into our ava's and add one more way to lessen our chances to gain some back. MA has FOREVER looked us in the eyes and said "This is just another option" when in time it becomes the "Way" and no longer a choice like with so much L crap now.

Now I may have read into this but it sounds like Arkadia may be allowed its first planet wide event probably having to do with a massive Oratan invasion. This saddens me greatly as with every other event that happens in EU the same people will come half way thru the event.. spend crazy amounts of money in a very short time and take away all the rewards back to that "OTHER " planet. This happened with a great portion of the smuggler gear that was meant for rewards for loyal Arkadians as it was first promoted. I am not saying that the people spending insane money do not deserve the big loots just that they shouldn't be able to come here for a few hours or mere days and get something players who been here since day one have worked their asses off and spent crazy money as well in hopes of getting it. That is just a huge slap in the face to us all who have been here since Arkadias birth.

Anyway.. when its all said and done.. the VU is decent and the things I don't like really don't matter in the long run I just say my peace in hopes someone will FINALLY learn there are more players now to split everything with and the old school ways need a major change so we ALL can see something nice on occasion instead of reading the same 12 to 15 people ALWAYS getting the best at our expense. Again I apologize for the wall of text.. I keep hoping someone will look into why I cant start new paragraphs and tell me how to resolve that.. It annoys the hell outta me as well

Cyrus or Chris you might want to look into the graduation rewards, one guy graduated today at Quarry and received the regular Adjusted Pixie, can you explain the requirements to receive the Adjusted Musca please? So I can inform my disciples.

    Born on Arkadia?
Started mentorship after the last VU?
    Mentor from arkadia too?

    Thanks.

I am guessing they need to be "born" on Arkadia for the arkadian reward to apply?

I guess the only condition is that the disciple must be Ark-born, but wonder what would happen if he 1) start the discipleship on Ark but finish on another planet; 2) vice versa; 3) start and finish outside of Ark.

    Hi Angel

As far as I understand the new player needs to be Arkadia born to receive the Adjusted Musca. If you can send me the avatars name that graduated Ill follow up with MA and if he is Arkadia tagged ill swap the Armor for him.

    Regards
    Chris

Oh it's quite easy to understand. The arkadia team used to be a team people had trust in, i myself feel this trust wading and pvp is another step in the wrong direction. Arkadia, in my mind, was the promise of a fresh start for a planet that was done a lot better then calypso. And the things i noticed the last half year are:

    • Cyrus and Dave have become a lot less vocal on the forum
    • The terrible tt returns in the aakas instances has been ignored since they were introduced, no explanation offered at all
    • Instead of trying to be different and stand out the planet is copying calypso with the iron challenges, the pvp-areas, the oil rig
    • In over 2 years there is still no storyline mission implemented in the game, not what you would expect with such a rich storyline the planet had before it launched
    • Loads of treasures have no use at all, i never tt stuff, but i tt over 30% of found treasures.
    • Loads of blueprints have ingredients that don't drop
    • There are planets focussed on pvp, most arkadians don't care about it, I feel planets should specialize in their own strong points. If every planet is going to be the same, then why should we bother traveling through space?

Through all their great work in the first year and a half they raised the expectations of what could be done with a planet a lot for me, but right now they're not living up to those expectations anymore. Frankly, atm calypso is by far outperforming arkadia with their new release.

What's next? Will arkadia introduce time travel to aincient sentosa, or will we get a hell/foma mining area? Or maybe a pvp arena which you have to pay for to enter? :)

In all respect, I don't know why give them such a hard time just for trying to cover all aspects of the game.

With a few exceptions like yours people are gonna still love Arkadia and if they want to try PvP some day they wont have to move to other planets. It's a good way to attract new and different people, and that is good for the planet.

I think this was a pretty awesome VU.
