i am a brand new player to this game and enjoy a good challenge. is it possible to start and advance in this game without putting in an initial investment of money and if so can you point me in the right direction? thanks in advance. i have done the tutorial on arkadia and have a basic weapon and basic mining tools except a refiner.
It is possible to progress without making a deposit, but it will be far from easy. To do well in EU you need either alot of time or alot of money, and quite often both. I'm sure you've already learned about sweating, and that this is not an ideal or fast way to make ped. There are other ways though, like doing jobs for other players that have more money than time, and therefore are willing to pay you for your time/help. If you do go the non-depo route I wish you the best of luck, you will need it!
Everything is possible if you have time and patience. people hire to mine for them. people hire to heal them as they hunt. people hire to work on Motherships. I dunno at what wages though because I've never done these transactions. What I would do if I was unemployed on Arkadia I would walk around and see if any fruit popped up to pick up or sweat animals for 10 bottles and then shoot it dead (ammo required). you just need to get lucky once.
Howdy Whiskeyjack, As both replies before mine mentioned, the road ahead for non-depositor can be nearly insurmountable. However, as you probably have guessed, there have been many before you that have tried, a small fraction succeed. You'll need to do a lot of reading, have a lot of patience, and have a little luck. Profiting in Entropia is already a challenge, but very doable. Adding the non-deposit option to your goal could tip it over the edge towards too frustrating. There are many events for new arrivals, many folks on the forums here at Arkadia and on Calypso advertising services needed, and trading opportunities present for those that can build capital. Think of yourself arriving as an immigrant on the shores of a new country, with no education. You can succeed with little, but most don't. Throw in $10 or $20 (like buying an indie game) and see how far that springboards you towards your goal of tycoon. Good luck.
