I am so tired of the Arkoin Vendor being out of Stock on certain pieces of Perseus armor. Having a limit set on these items is bullshit. There is no limit imposed on the Calypso vendor for mission token Angel armor so why does this vendor have one? For the record. I only buy Perseus armor for personal use.

    View attachment 7437

When you impose a limit on stock, it encourages resellers to corner the market and discourages people from doing Key Instances. The Arkoin vendors selection is already extremely limited and putting a cap on what you can buy doesn't make sense. The Arkoin economy is already controlled by the game's limited distribution of Arkoins that one can receive as a reward. This is a terrible system and this issue needs to be addressed and fixed.

My suggested fix is to make Perseus armor untradeable and unsellable. Once you purchase the armor it is yours to keep unless you TT it. In other words the armor and everything else the Arkoin Vendor sells (with the exception of Land Areas) should become 'bind on equip'. If people want to trade Key Instance loot they can trade the dammed Arkoins! There is absolutely no need for people to buy armor and resell it to make PED off of a broken game mechanic. The result should be a correction on the markup of Arkoins and a reasonable supply of armor for those that want to use it.

Buy looted or crafted Perseus armor don't force "bonded" stuff on the rest of us...

Resellers are always a "problem" with some things doesn't mean you should make up the market around them, don't like it maybe we should only have LAs and other high value items available from these things..

I don't think Angel (L) can be crafted. Perseus (L) can. If you make the Perseus (L) unlimited in the Akoin vendor, you will impact any market for the crafters...

...and then the crafters will complain.

It's hard to please everyone, but I think this system is working as intended. At some point the Arkoin Vendor should be sold out, right? It might be nice to see a NEW set of armor that one can ONLY get from the vendor and get the crafted Perseus market back up.

Perseus BPs have started to appear on the market and I can assure people that SFE will announce and add it to our range as soon as we have a full set...Same with Pegasus and Aquila.

Resellers are always a problem the only solution is not to buy from them and eventually put them out of business...but, as long as someone is willing to pay the price they are charging then realistically you cant lay the entire blame at the foot of the reseller.

Regardless, I'd not be surprised if the limit on the Arkoin broker is a "balancing" measure imposed by on high.

Resellers cornering the market would actually be a good thing for perseus crafters, as they would just have to be below that price to be the preferred seller. Also I don't think MA would remove the limited stock, since it took them what, 6 months or more to program the arkoin broker for just that reason... to make it limited stock. So, it sounds to me like crafting needs to catch up with perseus demand. Not sure if the BPs are all out there or if the materials are all available either.

Still though, it does seem a little strange to me that a looted and crafted armor is also available in the arkoin broker.

While Perseus is theoretically craftable, most of the required bps have not yet been discovered (based on a search of EntropiaLife). Having them in the koin broker creates demand for koins and encourages more hunters to go for the bigger mobs.

Again. They way to handle 'balancing' is by regulating the Arkoin drop rate. It shouldn't be regulated by limiting what you can purchase with them, which is already extremely freakin' limited. I mean come on now people. It's not like there's hundreds or even tens of things you can purchase with Arkoins. Let's see there's armor that's useful, one outfit, a couple of tagging weapons and oh yea, an inexpensive land area. Is this not limiting enough ffs?

If bumping heads with crafters is the issue, then come up with an armor set that isn't craftable or make the Arkoin version a bit different like TEN edition items for instance. I'm standing at the Arkoin vendor now with enough Arkoins to purchase a set of armor. Should I go do some more Key Instances perhaps and save up more Arkoins that I can't spend? Is that what some of you are recommending?

Can we not agree that this system needs, at the very least, a bit of tweaking?

The only Perseus Bps that I KNOW are out and available so far are the Gloves, of which SFE has an Unlimited BP. I would theorise that once the entire set becomes available mainstream, that they would be removed from the Broker in favour of something else....but that is just a pure guess on my part.

Also, in regards to price, there are a number of factors that effect it...If Aquila is anything to go by, Perseus isn't going to be cheap by any means...

Looking at the ingredients of the Gloves alone, well you do the math:

Who's stopping you kill Yuka (shins, thighs) or Kamaldon (harness), or high maturity Korwil (helmet)?
In my view the availability of this armor in a broker generally breaks down the market price. Look, Perseus stats is better than that of Shadow, but it costs half the price! Мoreover, it has a longer life (because has higher TT)! And it's mostly because Perseus is available in the broker. You should not compare how much easier to get Arkoins vs Mission Tokens! My personal opinion - Perseus should be fully removed from the broker. There may be other armor, like Cetus or something like this (not extremely luxe). I would put it another (any) unique or prototype armor, which does not drop in the loot.
Return the crafters and hunters their daily bread!

i think the only solution is to not have crafted armor that is looted or in the broker, and i say this as someone who doesnt craft.
can you think of anyone that would say this was a good idea if asked? if you cant, why did the ark team think it was?

I went to the broker to get my glow-jacket yesterday( The mark of an Arkadian!). I saw a few pieces with only 1 left in there. Do the items respawn slowly over time? I find it odd that I would see so many items with ONE piece left. If they do respawn, it's simply a matter of patience...

I don't want to see anything taken away from crafters and I certainly don't blame resellers for trying to make PED. That's the name of the game after all. It's just frustrating for people that want to simply play the game, do some Key Instances and buy a reward. That is of course the basic purpose of the Key Instances. I know David reads everything here and takes people's concerns to heart so I voice them here and they move up the chain so to speak.

Thanks to all for the input!

I think it is a concern, but there seem to be ample ways around it. That being said, Arkoin *ONLY* armor would not only be a "fix", but kinda cool. The guns are not craftable, right?

It would be a mistake to remove perseus parts from the broker until all parts are actually craftable.

I actually think they should take greater advantage of the TT to arkoin ratio. Make perseus cost 130%, pegasus 120%, Aquilia 110%, etc, or something similar.

If i remember right, the entire point to the arkoins was to make it easier for teams to run. No having to split 3 L items between 4 people. Everyone gets stackables and arkoins.

    2 Uncle Mo

The problem is that each newbie (or several newbies) can pass the Aakas mission level 1 or 2. As a result, he gets 5-10-20-30 PED of Arkoins and after three mission gets gloves that make it practically invulnerable! After little grinding he can complete full armor set. At Calypso we not have this issue because newbie unable to collect enough mission tokens for 1-3 day (or 1-3 weeks, lol) to recieve 1 part of Angel (L) armor. I approve prototypes of Herman guns, but Perseus - no! I have almost no incentive to hunt Yuka or Kamaldon (except HoF's or maybe ESI's), I can assure you that it is expensive in all sides (armor, weapons, FAP's, skills, high turnover etc), because armor parts I can loot (maybe can loot!) have MU only 125% and drops down everyday!
Imagine that a beginner in Camp Icarus would have received for completing the mission one part of Shadow Armor (L), not CDF Scout?
This would have an impact on the market? I think yes, and Shadow market price drops down to 115-125% intstead 300% atm. Incentive to kill Warlocks disappears because there is nothing to compensate for the losses. Adding the high-level top-armor in the list of Arkoin broker is mistake. Also, as you make Perseus untradable? This can only be done by adding other armor in the broker (not Perseus). I want sell all Perseus parts i loot, because they get to me a bit more expensive than the run of the low-level missions in Aakas. So I do not agree with your point of view, although I understand that it is profitably for you personally, you can recieve top-armor very easy.

This MUST be corrected by removing of Perseus from broker awards list!

Gewitter raises an interesting point though I draw a different conclusion. It's not a good idea for low level players to use Perseus and I hope mentors and experienced soc members are discouraging this practice. Any player can in theory wear high protection armour to hunt bigger mobs whether they buy it from a koin broker, auction or another player. But with high protection comes high decay and a player that hunts a big high level mob without appropriate levels of evade or sufficient, efficient dps then their defensive costs will be very high.

Just because you have access to high level gear doesn't mean you should use it. Right now the best things lower level players can do with their koins is aim to sell them for good MU. and 130% is good MU for low level loot. But Ark Devs should consider if there can be broker gear that is good for lower level players. It's not a straightforward decision and I don't know what I would do in their position.

This is not only about wearing Perseus by newbies, but about excess in the market with which you and I can not compete.
But maybe i wear Perseus instead something like Gremlin+5B, if it will be 105% :)
It will allow me to not use a FAP

    And moreover:
When you go on a mission, you are guaranteed to get the Perseus, and I, when I go to Yuka - no!!!
Then why bother? You can just grind a mission.

By the way, after the disappearance of Perseus parts in a broker, they MU went up to 170-190%

On the other end, I would also hope that Yuka loots a bit better than 75% tt returns

In rare cases - yes. Average return is below this number :(
And you forgot about UL chips and knifes from Aakas... you cannot loot it from Yuka

Besides, I deserved it, and the green beginner - no
