I'm thinking of lvl some mindforce skill. This however is where I'm stuck, not sure what is recommended or even were a noob starts with the process. Believe some implant is required. Is there any info available so I can do some research?

Would like to do hunting or healing using mindforce. Not sure which one would be the best for skilling.

From what I've read so far, it does not seem very eco to start with. would thus prefer not to was unnecessary peds.

    Regards,

you need to first implant a neopsion mindforce implant using the implant inserter tool (both are on TT - I usually sell the inserter tool back once implanted) then you can equip chips

It really depends on how well rounded you want to be. Mindforce is a good way of training concentration, intelligence, psych, and a few other interesting stats/skills. But every time you use a Mindforce item, you are forgoing the use of something else that does pretty much the same job. So you have to ask yourself what skills/stats do you want?

I delved into mindforce because of the coolness factor (the healing chips special effects are WAY cooler than the gyro FAP) and because I don't really know what skills stats might come in handy down the road being a newbie myself. Hey, intelligence sounded important and shooting things with a gun didn't touch that stat!

mindforce looks pretty cool (even though i think MA can do better on the animations) however its DPS is "gimped" compared to equivalent level weapons such as pistols and rifles and melee, also like melee there are no amps for mindforce, there is a kind of "amp" called arson chips that bring up the dps on mindforce chips by creating a burn over time effect, however you can use these (somewhat expensive) arson chips with guns making guns even stronger over MF chips. imo MF is unbalanced and needs to be addressed, not to mention the highest level MF nano chips are maxed out at just under level 50, which is pathetic because we have a lot of MF users that are over level 50, and MA has been holding back the stronger chips for well over a year of "testing" with no prospect of ever implementing them.

With the current crop of nanochips, MF is at least feasible eco-wise. That wasn't the case as recently as a year or so ago.

With that said, if you're looking for the most efficient way to hunt cost-wise, MF isn't the best solution. As already mentioned, there is also a cap on MF because the chips stop around lvl 50 and don't get stronger and because there are no amps for MF. However, I starting using MF as my primary weapon/healing tool a couple months ago strictly because I enjoy it more. It's "cooler" than guns, IMO, and keeps my interest better when hunting.

What you decide really all depends on what you want to do with your avatar. If you want to one day hunt uber creatures, using MF means you're just hoping they finally introduce higher-level weapons by the time you get there. If you want the most efficient way to hunt economically, BLP or Laser would be better. (Also, you build health faster using BLP/Laser) If you want the cool factor of shooting electric/pyro/cryo bolts by using your mind and body only, MF is the way to go.

i'd say go for it. If your on ark i'd recomend getting yourself a UL Elec chip as your going to get fustrated finding L chips. But i've been sticking to MF and skilling it up myself. Since they adjsuted it it seems to work out pretty good.

After a long absence form PE, I am trying Mindforce again. Thank to my decent anatomy skill, my damage levels are good. My HIT levels, however, need work, but are coming up quickly with use. Once you fully skill the chips, they are pretty fun. ARK has lots of missiosn mobs that are small enough to be easily handled by MF attacks. I'll work on the eco numbers as I skill. My little Elec I chip is pretty fast. I'll work on scoring some UL chips in all categories. The animations are fun!

The chips can tier, but no enhancers....yet ;). if we can get enchancers, MF will rock!

Weapon enhancers can be attached to tiered MF attack chips

Thanks for all the info all.

Think the coolness factor might just make me follow the MF route one day, but for now it still seems a bit expensive to start with. Once I get my 50 + Global I'll invest in the device and chip.

Cost that one needs to incur:
    NeoPsion 10 Mindforce Implant - 21.99 PED
    Payn-Inc Implant Inserter - 15.00 PED

This excludes the mind force needed. Thus putting the start up cost at about 40 PED (Equipment + 36.99 + mindforce)

Need a lot more PED before I can start down this path.

    Regards,
    Dtler.

Well you can return the implant inserter to TT after you have used it to get most of that 15 ped back. And that can help fund ur MF chip and synthetic ME.

Very true, 15 PED makes a huge difference.

I went ahead and got MF implanted to try it out. I really liked it and I figure one can save on ammo and liv. up new skills this way.

No. I am a neo-noob and I didn't realize we could enhance MF chips with weapon enhancers. I guess they are considered "weapons".

...oh...it's ON! This is huge. I always was intrigued by mindforce, but it wasn't really viable when I left. But now, it seems workable. FUN!

Actually, as mentioned, the 15 for the implant inserter is immediately recoverable almost in full if you sell it back to the TT. So deduct 14 PED from that total.

Also, there are some things you can only do with MF, like TP chips. It's worth skilling to a basic level if for no other reason than to use a TP chip.

Ran my first Key 1 and Key 2 instances last night. A great place to skill MF...I can one-shot many mobs with my level II elec ship!

Q; What is the difference between the synthetic stuff you buy at the TT and the mind essence that's sold at the AH and stores

Synth essence is for all chips except teleport chips which use normal essence. They made it so MF hunting is more eco and fair. Now MF users don't have to pay a mark up for their ammo. :)

the problem I have is that for some reason I can only use the synthetic type to hunt. I bought the regular essence from the Auction House but I cant seem to be able to use it. I have like 50k of it and cant use it. dunno why.
