1. Where do new players spawn after character creation? 2. What missions/activities are recommended for new players in the first couple hours of playing? (are there any walkthroughs?) 3. What missions/activities/goals are recommended for new players in their first week of playing? (2-4 hrs a day) 4. Which TPs do new players automaticly get, and which ones are 'MUST HAVE' ones to find right away? 5. What mobs are recommended for new players in their first week of playing? First month? 6. What resources/areas should new miners experiment/learn on? 7. Are there any 'smart' blueprints for new players to start with, or is crafting mostly recommended against till they have got their own feet under them? 8. What mobs are recommended for L30-60 players with typical gear? (1-3k hp but low dmg against typical ghost/gremlin/jarhead armor) 9. Are there any areas that have high enough markup resources to grind amped mining? 10. What are the most productive blueprints for a low-mid lvl crafter to aim for? (weapons? armor? other? why?) 11. What do the high lvl hunters do on Arkadia? Mobs and maturities? 12. Are there any instances recommended for low level players solo? (first couple of weeks) 13. What instances are recommended for the average L30-60 player? 14. Are there social areas to hang out and visit other players? 15. Are there any other activities you think someone first landing on Arkadia or just starting to play should know or experience?
Jenny covered most of the answers. Regarding key levels peds are a real issue... one run thru of level 1 costs 45 ped (ammo plus key cost), while a level 6 costs IIRC ~ 500 ped, level 10 closer to 1500 ped. A level 30 player will probably struggle in level 6 (solo) but a level 60 player should have no problem in any of the instances, assuming they're using appropriate armor of course. A level 30 player can do the first few instances without armor, though armor will make your time with the bosses easier. I would add big nusul to the list of popular mobs for L30 players. With evade over ~ 20 you can kill the stalkers solo with a 25 dps weapon and no amor.
short answer, no. longer answer, no.. the resource fields on arkadia were changed last year and filled with "junk" arkadian crafted weapons now have serious competition from caly weapons, crafters stopped crafting them the auction is too slow and filled with desperate people all trying to sell and undercut eachother due to low demand most arkadian BP's i have seen or heard of have ingredient lists that make them uneconomical and unpractical to craft in quantity combine this with the higher price on amps we have had recently and it just does not make sense, and thats before i get started on treasure mining. there might be a few amped miners left on arkadia, but there is not space for any/many more unless something drastic changes...
Thanks. This is what i needed to know, but sorry to hear. I have returned to PE after a long abscence. Even me calling it "PE" shows that! There was a BIG change years ago that made it almost impossible to move, but they must have fixed the code becasue now I can. I started trying to stomp in my old grounds, but nothing is the same. I have tried to stretch my peds the way i used to with hunting, but no go. The returns are dismal, especially sicne 25% of my loots are only those f-ing fragments that don't pay the bills. So, nothing is like it was. Things are different yet eerily the same. i'd like to try being a miner now, but it's just boring in a way. Allm my old landmarks are gone. However, the new Planets look promising. I would love to help colonize and forge a new planet, but if everything is still calypso-centric (hmmm...wonder why *THAT* would be? ), it doesn't seem that idealto go offworld.... ...but... ...sometimes you just have to say "f-it!". If your world is in chaos, make the change. If I have to relearn anything, might as well do it on a new planet. Rocktropia seems too tongue-in-cheeck with all the mobs. Calypso is just a graveyard of old mis-matched buildings. I see the banks Not sure if they still work. they just made Hadesheim a crater. i haven't even looked for New Oxford, come to think of it. I run across te estates in the middle of nowhere. i like the new hangars, but I have no uise for them....except maybe to leave. If i am starting all over, might as well start on a new planet, and Arkadia seems like the best bet.
It's definitely not Calypso-centric here on Ark. There's very little reason you'd need to go to Caly these days, unless you're a trader or want to squeeze out that extra 2 or 3% MU on certain resources.
So I triple dropped about 25 D-Class amps this weekend and with only 3 tiny globals am only down a couple hundred ped after markup. One big global or hof and I'll be back up to break even. (this many amps dropped anywhere else with only 3 tiny globals and I would be way in the hole) Either I got really lucky, or you have been mining in the wrong areas. About 2/3rds of the ore/enm/treasure I have found is over 120% and a good chunk is 130+% Now I haven't sold any yet, just in storage till I build up some stacks, but they seem to have recent sales history, so I think its a fairly fair estimate. *edit* and up about 3/4 of a Health point as well
gz on the HP. my assesment was maybe a little brutal, but as you have said yourself, you havent sold your resources yet. it could be that i mine the wrong areas on arkadia, i have not completely remapped the whole planet after the changes to the resource fields. i am a little surprised that you found 2/3's of resources, including treasure, that are over 120%. i know/have read that prices and demand have gone up a bit in the last week or so, but i stand by what i said, there just is not enough demand/space for many more amped miners on arkadia at this point in time.
