Does SOOTO depend on Depth?

Does Sooto depend on depth of finder? or just that the hit on the location regardless of depth?

 

I believe depth is unrelated to SOOTO frequency or the item you get. However, I do think it's possible that using amps can increase the probability that you will find a better "quality" item. I don't know this for sure, just a theory of mine.

 

How does SOOTO show up? Through claim deeds like mining?

 

SOOTO not depends on Depth. It is rare case of additional loot. This is verified as a Avatar (my Avatar) with the 40+ lvl in mining professions (~20 lvl Treasure Hunter), and the newbie (my wife's Avatar).
It show up in your loot window together with claim deed(s) (or if you disable loot window - only in loot line)

According to my observations, amplifiers slightly increase the probability of SOOTO, but im not fully sure about it.

awesome, just to confirm also, SOOTO is achieved via Treasure Hunting only? ie. I won't get SOOTO from Enmatter mining or Mineral mining? also, does SOOTO stand for "Something out of the Ordinary" ? lol I'm guessing it does but I've never had it confirmed XD

 

Treasure SOOTO is only from treasure hunting, the normal SOOTOs when ore/enmatt mining I let others answer

on arkadia i have never had a SOOTO from anything but treasure mining and i seem to recall the devs stating this is not possible some time last year. on calypso SOOTO's are found through normal mining

For example, on Caly beacons are found as Sooto's. Also some other stuff.

It's said that Sooto's are random very rare drop. So the more drops u do, the better ur chances. I havent seen any links between drop chance and location but then I haven't seen any analysis to disprove that idea either.

 

There are no SOOTOs from ore and enmats on Ark, just treasures. I don't keep track of the rate, I just notice that they pop up every few hundred drops or so. Oh look, another jar

 

Any SOOTO on Caly other than beacons? anyone can make a small list of the most common ones? Not that I'm headed there.

 

sootos like everything else in EU is based on cycle rate of ped. If I mine only a few nights a week I don't see any sootos..if I grind drop I start seeing them again.. it all boils down to how much money you lose doing something within your skill and gear levels. For those still confused.. Sootos here are different from the ones on Calypso. Here they are designed as part of the treasure hunting profession to distribute the rare finds. On Caly they are rewards for any mining profession and only to distribute rare craftables and (robot beacons still? I haven't mined since MA did the change with them)

 

I've only found Angel Scales as a SOOTO on caly

(and yes, where it says 'you have found a resource' if you get SOOTO theres another line that says 'you have found something out of the ordinary'

 

Well, I got a SOOTO (10 Angel Scales) and looted a CLD through mining a few days ago, when I mined in OLA 25 on caly. So, I would say that SOOTO might come with new item (Such as CLD) together.

ooh yeah I found angel scales back in 2009, I didn't know it was SOOTO though ; awesome ty. Still just the Aakas respresentation painting so far here =P I know there's af ull suit of Liakon with ma name on it XD

 

There used to also be a SOOTO on Caly called Hansidian. When you got a SOOTO, it would either be Angel Scales or Hansidian (this was in between the time beacons stopped dropping and the time they reappeared). I'm not sure if Hansidian still drops or not.

 

Hansidian was my first ever SOOTO 5½ years ago and about 30min before I got my first spaceship(beacons in that day), so yeah I wouldn't think they removed hansidian and I know it wasn't something put in instead of beacons since it existed both in the past

 

I tied getting SOOTO's in CLD form in caly but no avail lol. Gonna start back in Ark lol
