Arkadia Launch Party

WAY cool video Chrome, really enjoyed it, and the ending is just AWESOME.

And LOL at the shameless plug for the EntropiaTimes ... had to do it.

Thank you VERY much for organizing the party and for the wonderful decorations, it was just amazing.

The party was really exceptional, and I couldn't believe how many people came out to share time with us ... they just kept coming, and staying for quite a while before having to leave, and even when we got to a point after hours of hanging out, I still counted about 33-35 people. I saw SO many friends and familiar faces I've met over the 6 years I've been an Entropian, and it was just an incredible spirit lifter for sure. The gazillion PM's were special too.

I've always said that this community is what does it for me, and years ago I created my own media profession so that I could showcase the wonderful players who inhabit our universe. I took quite a break there, except for my weekly check-ins to see friends, and the magazine and forum work, but I am back now and ready to do some more community-building and getting people connected.

Ever since Dave announced Arkadia, I have been gearing up for this launch, and now it's just a day and hours away ... I can't wait.

I'm going to be pulling together my front page article as soon as possible and will be posting it at EP and Arkadia.

Thanks again to Chrome for a job well done, and for all who came out to celebrate with us.

yea was great event chrome, sry i missed half the event being afk, real life events suddently went sour. Thanks for everyone who posted pics, the party was grand.

and i hope it sent a message on the totality of Arkadias loyalist =) United we stand, and tomorrow the Mighty Oratan will fall!!!

Oh wow ... how did I ever miss seeing you at the party? I was continually giving a welcome to everyone on-air who showed up at the party, but somehow I missed you Hon, so sorry about that. Will have to make it up to you at the next party.

However, there were so many people showing up constantly, while those who were there a while left after an hour or two, so I wouldn't be surprised if I missed others too.

It was an incredible party indeed, and because I was taking photos and video footage, I had my hud off every so often, so I missed some of the chat as well, which is always good at these gatherings. That's where you really get the pulse of the community, and find out who's a closet comic, or who might have some hidden talent never before revealed until flying vehicles came on the scene.

This was definitely one of the most fun parties I've been a part of, and I give great thanks to Chrome for organizing it, along with her phenomenal decorations.

I am now off to do my front page story with photos and video, and will be posting it as soon as I have it complete.

Ah damn, RL just didn't go as planned, so I wasn't able to stay (thx for the nice words guys), but I popped up there, just on the dance floor (sorry for the dance floor highjacking btw )

The party looked really great! Decoration and stuf, great ppl were present.
Looks like Arkadia's future is assured

I am now conscious again and working on the front page article and video for the party.

And guess what? ... I just got permission from Dave to use all 6 tracks of the Arkadia music I played for you guys last night in the video. I've set them up in a perfect order to build the video. This way, those who haven't heard the Arkadia music will be able to.

Premiering the Arkadia music at the pre-launch party was a gift from Dave to the community, so please make sure you give him a big thanks too.

OMG ... I just finished the video and it came out better than I expected it to. My videos are rather simple, but if there's one thing I'm pretty good at, it's sync'ing the music with the video, and this time MAYbe I might have outdone myself. The video is 10 min 20 sec long, and has all 6 Arkadia music tracks in a sequence that just fits too cool.

Now I have to finish writing the front page article and have that ready first before I upload the video to YouTube, so you still have to wait for it. I'm going to include it with the article.

I had intended posting a front page article (same one at EP), but I got stopped along the way because it would only allow me 10 pics ... the article has close to 15 I think. I'll have to catch up with Niko about that.

In the meantime, I'm going to post the video here so that you can watch it at this forum, or at least know that it exists.

During the party, I was able to capture some footage that allowed me to put together a video. It presents a more visual offering of the amount of decorating that was done prior to the party, but also additional decorating that occurred while the party was in full force.

Past experience has taught me to be ready for anything, and this party was no exception. I am always in media mode, and hope that I am quick enough to capture the animated activities that leave thought-prints in our memories.

At the beginning of production on the video, I had my Skype open, and Dave happened to be online. I thought I would ask if it were possible to use the 6 Arkadia music tracks in the video that he gave me to premiere at the party since it would make it more authentic. I had my fingers crossed while I awaited his reply.

And there it was – YES! And now those who were not present at the party will have an opportunity to listen to all 6 tracks in their entirety on the video. My videos are rather simple in nature, but I believe I have a bit of a talent for sync’ing music with video footage, and what I’ve done is arrange the tracks in a specific order to suit the content of the video. I've also half-timed certain segments of the video to be more in line with the music.

And speaking of the content of the video, there’s not too much variation that you can get when a party remains stationary, other than the spontaneous activities that take place that change it up a bit. However, throughout the video, pay close attention to the little things that may pop out at you, and if you were in attendance, then you may very well see yourself.

you time the video to the music so well and the ending was perfect, really brings out the excitement and wanting to go.
