Hi, in the isclay interview i heard that Arkadia is considering introducing land areas to arkadia in 2013. As a player i have mixed feelings about landareas, i absolutely hate paying taxes, but i would love to own a landarea, but that is not what this thread is about. My suggestion is that you don't sell land areas as a whole, but that you sell parts of an LA (kinda like the calypso land deeds, for example 100 parts of a landarea and all owners get 1/100th of the income, and if possible get a voting right on any changes on the LA (tax/changes to mobs)). In my opinion there are several benefits to this: More people have a chance to own a piece of land, and not just the happy few old calypso players if you sell by part the total end price will most likely be higher people that own a piece of land are more inclined to hunt/mine there themselves people who own a piece of land are more like to stay involved with arkadia And most importantly (for me): I can't afford a LA, but am more then will to buy a few LA shares. I think most systems are already in place (like used in CLD system, and the landgrab areas).
Sounds like a good idea. The problem would be in deciding amongst yourselves how to run the LA, what taxes to charge, etc.
maybe a voting system like in soc, but instead of voting for soc leader you vote for who will manage the LA? Or every change has to be approved by 50% of the owners?
