Competition Planet Arkadia Triathlon 2013 - "TEN" edition (Event has now ended)

This year, as we celebrate the monumental milestone of Entropia Universe's tenth anniversary, Arkadia Studios presents "Planet Arkadia Triathlon 2013", the first of many TEN events proudly sponsored by MindArk.

The unique four-day "Triathlon" format will make this the first official event of its kind in the history of Entropia Universe.

• The event is simple. Global in each of the three primary professions (hunting, mining and crafting) to score a point.

• Most points wins, and there are ten places with huge prizes!

• Did we include some random prizes? Of course! Every point you earn is an entry in the draw, unless you win one of the top ten prizes!

• Event goes for four days, starting 31st Jan 2013 (00:00:01 MA Time) and ending on 3rd Feb 2013 (23:59:59 MA time).

What better way to celebrate the historical TEN year anniversary than by combining the three fundamental professions that have helped Entropia become the amazing Universe it is today?

Rules, Notes, Definitions

• Each set of 1 hunting, 1 mining and 1 crafting global entitles you to 1 point.

(1 hunting global + 1 mining global + 1 crafting global = 1 point awarded)

For example:
​

Cyrus gets 10 hunting, 20 mining and 30 crafting globals during the event period. Cyrus gets 10 points.
​

• Globals must occur on Planet Arkadia, but not necessary for Arkadia items (for crafters).

• The player with the most points wins first prize. Second highest total wins second prize, and so on.

• This event is open to individuals only, and results will be determined via a report from MindArk.

• Teams are not eligible for participation in this event. Any team results will be ignored in determining the winners.

• An individual may only win one prize.

• Top ten prizes will be determined first, then all ten winners' data will be removed from the report. 5 random prizes will then be determined from the remaining data. In other words, anyone who wins a top ten prize does not qualify for a random prize.

• Random prizes will be drawn using a random number generator.

• The final decision for prizes will be made by Arkadia Studios, and will be announced as soon as possible after the event ends. It will take some time, however, for MindArk to generate a report and for Arkadia Studios to determine the winners.

• In the event that there is a tie for any of the prizes, the first player to have reached the prizewinning number of points receives the prize, the second player to have reached the prizewinning number of points receives the next prize, and so on. If such a tie forces a player out of the top ten, no prize will be awarded, however their points will be deemed as valid entries for the random prize draw.

• An eligible "global" is any hunting, mining or crafting loot on Planet Arkadia registering a value higher than 50 PED, including HOF (Hall of Fame) and ATH (All Time High). In other words, a loot of over 50 ped TT value in any of the three main professions. Instance loot does not count.

• Prizes will be available by direct trade with the avatar "Cyrus Arkadia Community Manager".

• Any prizes not collected within 28 days of being advised they are available, risk having Arkadia Studios forfeit the prize.

• Event starts 31st Jan 2013 (00:00:01 MA Time) and ends on 3rd Feb 2013 (23:59:59 MA time).

 

I want wish everyone the best of luck in this event. Very interesting event design but unfortunately the need to global in each profession basically rules me out. 7 mining globals in over two years of playing means I have almost no chance. But I am sure there are some well rounded players out there who will have an awesome time.

One query on the prizes. The L and unl plates have very different protection characteristics which is confusing given the similarity in names. I don't suppose one is supposed to be 10A?

Also nice to see there are events per planet. Hoping their will be a pvp event on Cyrene's HUB, that thing should get a good testrun before they go live

I will have to agree with KJ, I think i have had like 10 globals mining my whole time in EU, so I think Ill have to count myself out on this event. but I must say a very cool event it seems. I hope there will be some with Hunting only.

 

How are we to submit participation? (Screen Captures, Running the Entropia Tracker) and who do we submit this too?

No need to submit any screenshots or have Entropia tracker running for your entries to count. We will gather the information from MA directly and tally up the scores. Entropia tracker is useful to determine your current standing.

Mining and hunting globals I can do ... crafting not without wasting thousands of ped

Does anybody but me think the prizes are a bit um... unexciting... for the amount of ped the winners will be spending? I realize that in the past Chronicle UL was valuable but TBH the stats just don't say "must have!" to me. Am I demonstrating my noobishness here?

KikkiJikki and Raven, as for mining globals, you must understand that it's not like hunting and crafting. In hunting and crafting newbies can't global very easily. In mining, everyone has the same chance to global, and you can increase your chance by using higher powered amps and by dropping more probes. The only difference skills make is in depth, which does not affect global rate. But you're right, unless you're going crazy with level 13 amps, mining globals can be slow. It's possible to make 500 drops without finding anything above VI which might not be a even be a global with level 13 (I wouldn't know, I'm not insane and I don't use level 13s!). There is theoretically a skill requirement for amps, but it's not obvious to me what this skill requirement actually means. You will have the best luck if you use a finder appropriate to your skills (maxed).

The only tip I can think of short of using bigger amps... it seems that minerals have different global rates, so if you can figure out which minerals MA wants to improve the supply of, you have a slightly greater chance to global. A lot of miners try to do this, not sure how successful they are...

Does the winner get 7 armor plates or just 1? I assumed 7, but it doesn't say that and they're only getting one piece of armor so....

 

I will try to will at least a chance for one random entry.

 

JOATs will have a blast on Arkadia, navel-gazer hunters will struggle unless they bring big bankrolls and randomly drop the big amps they craft first.

I don't know but i like these prizes a whole lot more then the prizes for the riptor rampage event. And that is not even considering the riptor event lasted way longer in amount of days.

 

i thought TEN edition event would be something like the SGA event... but instead it's another "the people with the deepest pockets willing to spend the most money for mindark wins a prize"-event :/

Looks like there will be 7 such events during the year, with different armor parts as rewards, so that eventually there will be 2 full sets of armor for each gender and one full set of 10B plates. I'm betting the other set will be supremacy TEN Edition.
