Every time you global during the competition period, while mining on Arkadia, you will earn one entry.

The more times you global, the more entries you get!

At the end of October, an entry will be chosen by our random number generator to win an Alienware X51 Desktop!

Rules

1. The competition will begin immediately following Planet Arkadia Update Number 2012.5 and finishes at 11:59pm UCT on Wednesday the 31st October 2012.
2. A “global” is defined as any loot registering a Trade Terminal value higher than 50 PED, including HOF (Hall of Fame) and ATH (All Time High). Discoveries, for example, do not count as globals.
3. Every mining loot that qualifies as a “global”, that occurs during the competition period will earn the participant one entry into the competition, regardless of its value. For example, if you get a mining global 50 times during the competition period, you will receive 50 entries.
4. After the competition closes, Arkadia Studios will obtain from MindArk PE AB a report of all globals on Arkadia during the competition period. Those globals that occurred in mining will be identified, and a random number generator will then be used to decide the winner.
   
5. What exactly is the prize?
   • The winner, upon meeting Cyrus Arkadia Community Manager on Planet Arkadia, will have the choice of either:
     a) Having the prize shipped to their preferred address, or
     b) Receiving a tradeable in-game deed which must be redeemed for the prize (by meeting with Cyrus Arkadia Community Manager as detailed above) by 30th December 2012.
   • General details of the prize can be viewed at this page.
   • If you click the "Select" button at the top of bottom of that page, the next page (here) gives you a choice of four starting options. The prize in this auction is the entry level X51 on the left side of the page, valued at USD $699.
   • The winner will have the option to pay to upgrade the prize as desired, after the auction has ended, by private arrangement with Arkadia Studios. This is a simple matter of discussion with Cyrus | Arkadia.

 

Waiting for the end of the competition to have results is a bit odd... come on... having a daily updated page with data from MindArk should not be that rocket science...

 

The results can only be known at the end, it's a random draw ...

 

Think how large that list will be. Every global on planet for 2 months, either listed individually or totalled per player.

 

Indeed... my request was actually to "beg" MA for data on a more frequent basis...

 

The amount of data would be "ridicolous" to handle for any database...

 

well not really, but the page to display the results would be rather long.

 

This competition has been enhanced! It is now possible for the winner to pay to upgrade their prize from the base model Alienware X51 Desktop, after the competition has ended, upon private arrangement with Arkadia Studios. Rule 5 of the OP has been updated to both reflect this and to offer more information about the exact prize.

i have 46 globals mining and a little more hunting, and i still have 20 odd level 5's in my pocket waiting to be unleashed

 

so do "treasure" globals count in this comp ?
its a bit confusing that the treasure hunting comp is not for treasure mining, just instances but it doesnt mention treasure in the prospector comp info.

The Gold Rush Prospector 2012 competition has now ended. MindArk is tabulating the results and hopefully will send to us by the end of this week. We will make an announcement for the winner next week. Good luck to all who have globalled during this period of time.
