looks cool... please don't make it take up a whole server though. It's starting to get hard to mine with the massive 1,000,000+ mob spawns everywhere
Awesome cant wait to try them, I am guessing they will be some sort of elite mob... in line with daspletor or eomon. Either way they should bring some more hunters to arkadia
Hi, to be honest, I'm not this much excited about this. Another HP monster for the gamblers, cool. Congratz to them! What I think is lacking on Arkadia is more choices in the region below Oweko and Oratan. Especially high dam, low HP mobs. Atrax anybody? At least I feel a gap here - quite some range of low mobs, OK. But then, as soon as Oro Stalkers doesn't mean sudden death anymore, a gap. Anything beyond is a HP monster, and killing mobs while watching youtube just isn't for everyone. Would it be this much of hassle to insert some mobs that can be killed in expectable time, but would give a threat still? Atrax, anybody? This gap is, IMHO, one of the most serious reasons why players are leaving Ark. At a certain point there's no way other then using expensive gear, and risking high PED values, to go on. Calypsonian deed holders will rejoice. Have a good time!
it seems to be a universal trend not arkadia specific, i agree that these types of mobs encourage "bad" behaviour in players and this probably leads to some of the disappointment one sees (even if it is the players responsibility to chose what they hunt), these type of mobs are better suited for a occasional fun weekend team hunt imho, i much prefer mobs like oratan, the high damage lets you know exactly when you are playing above your level. auto-shooting a single mob for half a hour is pretty boring too, although after doing the first stage of the LT mission on caly i did suddenly realise that stamp collecting and train spotting could be exciting hobbies after all
I don't really see this gap. As someone who came to Arkadia as about a level 2 hunter and progressed from there up to lvl 38 or so, I don't see any problems with "gaps" so far. Bokol, Nusul, Hadraada, Tiarak, Madana, and Oratan Slashers all have good maturities for the level you're talking about. How "challenging" they are depends on evade and armor choice, of course. Those are just the ones off the top of my head--there might even be others I missed. Of course, more mobs is always a good thing too, especially mobs in this range (on additional land areas, since Ark is pretty full of mobs right now). As you pointed out... just because a hunter CAN hunt 1k+ hp mobs does not mean they have the ped card to do so long term.
Hi, Realizing this gap will be heavily dependent by the way to play I guess. For instance, for me Nusul already are "boring HP monsters" (but too cute!!!). Guess it's actually the way to play, I don't find much fun in whacking mobs that wouldn't be able to hurt me, and I regard it as grind to watch my poor lil avatar for more then a minute on a certain mob, without the need to do anything, watching a movie in the background. It's just not what I'm ready to pay for. I'm well aware that this style makes me a member of a minority in this game. For me, it's not all about the result of the hunt, much more important, for me, is that I have a good time meanwhile. For sure, the result of the hunt should meet certain prerequisites, but I'm not playing EU in the hope to get rich some day - I know that I'll not be able to avoid paying for my fun. I might explain this on an example from the old days when I still roamed Calypso (because there wasn't any other planet available). My main occupation was to hunt AtrAx. Hunting 'em was pure fun, joy and entertainment, they came in any size I'd need to match the current state of my PED card. Usually I hunted them in small maturities, with eco gear. And it was actual "hunting", because they rarely came in huge herds, ready to get slaughtered. And this was good, because I had to carefully lure 'em by one by one, getting swarmed meant a trip to the revive usually. When I had money, I got me my fancy Gremlin and the 5B's, and visited the bigger ones, for more adrenaline. But I never ever killed a single one of their close relatives, the AtrOx, after they had been modified. If avoidable. These had become exactly what I hate in this game - dumb, harmless fat HP-monsters. I loved to mine then, with 2 or 3 young Atrox as body guards, trying to eat a piece of my armor every now and then, just not caring about, using 'em as a free source of healing skills. When I read your list: It's only Nusul that I have killed in a 3-digit number. And only because they're this cute! Because I can kill a mob doesn't mean I have to do this - you're very right with this. I'm usually aiming for mobs that, regarding my current PED card balance, both offer a challenge (they should be able to kill me if I act stupidly) and a reward (I should be able to reach a certain return rate for my costs). And regarding this, I see a gap above Oro Stalkers. Your mileage may vary, for sure. But maybe now you better understand my view. Hehe, wasn't meant this way. Not in numbers, for sure. Guess I exaggerated, as usually ... But, tbh, I visited Cyrene already, I'll return to there one day, and I plan to have a look at other planets, too. I feel a gap in the Arkadian mobs ladder, and unfortunately it's exactly where it hurts me. Would I be donated an island LA (new) on Arkadia, and have free choice of all mobs, I'd drop Atrax there, with high mat Beryc and Merp. Or, Oro Improved, a small version of Oratan, and a reduced version of Oweko. Just to fill this gap. Have fun, and thx for reading!
