Greetings Arkadians! (all entropia players too)! My name is Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca and I am new here. I have a couple of questions which I need answers to 1. Can you recomend a good mentor (good person) 2. I have deposited some Peds to get started, how would you start out if you were totally new? 3. Any nice Societys that accept newcomers? Thats all for now Im looking forward meeting you ingame! Thanks in advance. Ashe
Hi Ashelia and Welcome to Arkadia and PAF. For a mentor search here http://arkadiaforum.com/forumdisplay.php?131-Mentoring-Services. For adviser information look here http://arkadiaforum.com/forumdisplay.php?139-Ask-an-Adviser and for soc information http://arkadiaforum.com/forumdisplay.php?26-SocTalk There are some really nice folks here, so you can always find people that can answer your questions. You can find most advisers at Celeste Quarry. While I am not one, I can say they are all good and helpful folks. Have fun and GL out there.
Welcome to Entropia Universe and to Planet Arkadia, Ashe There are many societies in EU, some with a planet specific bias, others more Universal lol What is more important is choosing the correct one for you. Would you like a large soc with loads of people to chat to, in which case look at one such as my own (NBK Army) which has well over 100 active members, which means a player presence at all hours of day and night. Or would you prefer a smaller one, in which case check they are players in your own time zone. Also check soc terminal details to see what their specialities are, if any. Some socs specialise in PVP and/or piracy, some hunting some mining etc and some are for new players, all players or just high level players. NBK Army for instance started as a hunting specialist soc, but as feeder soc to the NBK group of societies we now cover the full spectrum of professions (except piracy). Similarly for a mentor check the mentor register (in your action library) here the various mentors can be seen and a short description provided by them. The list can be sorted to show how many successful graduates they have has and what quality rating their graduates have awarded them. Personally I would advise joining a soc first, then seek a mentor, as most socs, especially the bigger ones have mentors in soc to help you. Though you may of course choose to keep them seperate. As for spending what you have depoed.. that depends on what you see as your chosen path. Initially I would suggest a trade terminal weapon and some ammo (if a gun) and then try swunting the carabok. (Swunt= sweat it til dry then kill it), this will give you an excellent boost to your skills and yet allow some cycling of ped. If you want to know more, please add me to friends list via the player register (full avatar name : Granny Rowan Render)
Hey, For soc and mentor, it has been already noticed in the previous replies ; about peds i can share my own beginner experience : i put €20, so around $26, which corresponds to 245 peds. Enough to start mining in my example, and to raise this amount day after day, if you take time to read a lot on several websites and guides. (there are some important softwares too, depending on your chosen profession, like LBML for miners i.e) Good luck.
Welcome to Arkadia If you are going to hunt carabok dont forget to participate in the carabok compettion I hold every week. Even if you dont win the top 3, there is always a chance for a nice item as we have 2 random drawings every week for the participants.
welcome Ashelia, You picked a great place to start. Remember choose your mentor well and your soc is just as important, figure out what path you choose to follow and then join the best soc that will suit your needs. Even though having a large soc is good there are alot of smaller ones out there that offer just as much help as the large ones. I would try to stay clear of mentor's or soc's that promote killing other players (PVP), because most will look at your soc tag and then judge you on the company you keep even if you are not an active part of killing others players and taking their loot. I would say take your time to get a mentor because even though they have a well written description of themselves some people are not what they seem. And alot of players look at PVP as a form of piracy the reason being is in PVP areas they shoot and kill players just to take their loot. And well.......... pirates in space do the exact same thing, the only difference in piracy and PVP is one will loot you in space and the other will loot you on the planet. You can’t condone one without condoning the other, because what is the difference in taking loot that does'nt belong to you in space and loot that does'nt belong to you on planet. So if you are in a soc that does promote and is activly doing PVP most players will judge you on that and see you as a PVP'ER and not trust you even if you do not actively participate in that kind of activity. So choosing the right soc is a very important issue and there is no rush in choosing a soc until you figure out how you plan to play the game.
