First of all, I think there should be an instance/keys sub-section in this forum. If there is and I missed it, please excuse me and move this over there. Now my question is: I have yet to do any key instance and would like to get some advice about them. I know that level 1 is easy solo, but is this true for higher levels too? My setup is: cb26+dante, gremlin/tiger+5b, 152 HP (of course I can use lower level equipment if this is overkill). What is the highest level I can do solo with no chance of dying? Thanks, Kosh
Done numerous instances solo up to lvl4 so far, here's what I've seen: 1) Gremlin unplated is more than enough. 2) Keep a TT weapon with you, snakes and those grasshopper things have 10 hp - no need to up your costs with insane overkill. Ubo's have about 60 hp, most other mobs excluding the bosses around 200-300. Chose the weapon setup that you find works best. 3) Avoid getting swarmed to reduce decay - most rooms are setup so you can kill most mobs before coming into contact with them, use the upper floors to kill the mobs on ground level. 4) Mobs in instances do not get "unreachable". That is not a bug, it's a choice from the developers so you can chose if you want extra evade skills for the decay or not.
Yep, your aren't the first to request a section for instances, but i've been a bit busy lately and have only just got round to doing this. *Thread Moved to Instances*
Kosh, your gear is more than adequate for anything up to lvl 8 instance, though you might have a little time pressure with the dps of cb24/dante. I dont think you would be able to kill all the mobs in time in a lvl 9 or 10 instance. I did a lvl 8 yesterday in gremlin\5b yesterday and the only mobs I took more than minimum damage from were the ubo and the lvl 17 statues. Just dont run into the middle of a room without waiting for the red dots to appear. Getting ganged up on by little guys adds decay and the serveral lvl 17s working together can kill you. There is absolutely no need to take any damage from bosses as you can position urself on the other side of a gate and shoot with no risk of being hit. I reckon if the devs change anything significant in the instances in a furture patch it will be to nobble that strategy. For weapons, I have been using ark-30d\dante (which I guess is only a liitle higher in dps that your setup) on statues lvl 9 & 17 and on the bosses. cap-303\a106 on the ubo and magurgs, riker ul2 on the teensy things. This produces a reasonable amount of overkill and if there were no timelimit I would drop to lower dps for a more eco approach. For example swap the ul2 out for opalo or perhaps M2A or P3A with A102 attached and save the high dps for the lvl 17 guys. Lower level instances I have run nekkid or with adjusted pixie. Thanks for the answers Manny and KikkiJikki, very helpful. I understand I can do levels 1-4 that I already have in storage with ease, and then decide how to continue. @KikkiJikki - I said cb26+dante (not 24) so I think that is even a bit higher dps than your setup so I should be fine.
I would like to ask an additional question if I could ... The Instances require that you are a part of a team before you start them, is there a way to go in solo because from what I have read the first few are apparently doable with out having to rely on a team. Cheers JH
You can form a team with just you in it. That fulfils the game mechanics requirement and allows you to go thru the door. While in a team of one you can not loot mobs that that is not an issue for the instance as all the loot is in the chests at the end and you are able open the chests to obtain the loot. I have used this method to do the first 8 lvls solo. Regards, KikkiJikki
