Once again, i view a thread, go on to others, and think, ohh that thread i looked at 5 mins ago i want to post somehting in it

But oh no, it bloody disappears and i have no idea how to find it now.

This keeps happening to me, two choices, subscribe to every single thread i read, or as usual just go back to pcf. (PS i am not going to subscribe to every thread)

Is there something i am missing that takes you to see threads you have viewed?

    Getting tired of it now

Really? I haven't seen any threads disappearing... Weird. Are you using the "What's New?" link or "New Posts" ?

I just found the activity stream thingy, much better, doesnt solve the problem, but at least i can find a thread that i was reading from a few hours before.....doesnt help before that though. And if a thread gets a lot of posts in it, all others wont appear on it.

Short fix, but wont solve the issue

I don't use any of those.. I just browse the forum like normal so I know where the threads are.. Maybe that's why?

No offense, that seems like a stupid reason. I hate PCF too much to let something so trivial be a problem for me. But it's your call. I won't stand in your way. Your loss.

Guys, as we've said before, its the version of VBulletin we are using. Whining about it will not change the way the forum engine works. If Van or I could make it work the way you wanted it to, don't you think we would have made the option available to you by now?

Van is on holiday and I'm currently working nights so its going to be a while before either of us has the chance to look at this again.

If we find a solution, you guys will know as soon as we can get it into the system.

Guys the system assumes that when you read a post, you've read it... it marks it as "read" and will not show up in the "What's New" tab... because you've read it. This is driven by the database method to thread view management, and not cookie based.

If you want to re-read something, click What's New then click the Today's Posts link. That will show you the same listing as the normal What's New stuff, but if you've read the thread then the title will not be in bold.

    hth :)

The only problem here is that both this forum and PCF are using the same software, so all that you know there should be the same here.
