I have recently seen pictures of people with multiple bars, or bars in different places. how can I customize my UI, also when i place items on my bars it doesn't show up, so I usually keep a mental note of where is what.
Hi there is a tab top right corner, Action Library, which contains just about every action you want to short cut. You can drag these to your UI using the, I forget what it's called but it's again top right hand corner and this tab allows you to drag an drop action tabs, items etc to your UI. Sorry this the most useless explanation! When I login tonight I can correct this post, unless someone else can do it, maybe a screenshot showing each of the tabs. Cheers bjorn
By default, the L key will bring up the Edit Panel. From here you can customize your keyboard mapping or place icons on your screen. In the edit panel you can see buttons for: Keyboard Mapping: Click to pop up aview of your keyboard and current mappings. And also to change mapping - see below. Action library: brings up a book that shows all the actions that can be taken Inventory: opens your inventory REset to default: In case you screw everything up and want to go back to EU default settings TrashCan: for getting rid of actions you no longer want mapped. So with the Edit Panel activated, you can drag items from you inventory or actions from the action library to your keyboard or the screen. Mapping an item allows you to hit the key or click on the icon to equip it, or to take the default action if it its already equipped. For example, I have my weapons mapped to the various number keys at the top of my keyboard. Dragging from the action libray enables that action to be taken - eg auto use tool, sit, various emotes. Dragging an existing icon from your screen or keyboard map to the trashcan gets rid of it. But wait there's more! There are actually 10 separate keyboard/screen maps, designated by F1-> F9 and * The * map is keys/icons that are the same for all the other 9, eg U for time, P for position etc During editing you can toggle between them using the icon in the top left of your screen. During normal game play you can just hit F1 to F9 to switch between them, So you can set up a different set of controls for hunting, mining, travelling thru space, partying. Hope that gets you started. Regards, KikkiJikki

One other addition that's not so important: you can get to the global set either by going before 1 or after 9. If you're on set 2, for example, it's faster to scroll left twice than to scroll right 8 times. Also, you don't have to have your keyboard map up, you only need be in edit mode. You can also drag items (such as armor or clothing) directly to the desktop completely bypassing the keyboard. You can drag guns and tools to the desktop from inventory as well (while in edit mode) and they will become buttons and display the associated keyboard command, even if you don't have the keyboard map open. That goes for commands in the library, as well. I'm in set 2 like 99% of the time except to create teams (defaulted to 8 in set 1). I have all mindforce items and auto-use in the global set. That way it doesn't matter what set I'm in, I've always got a "fap" (heal chip) and weapons (attack chips), or a quick getaway (teleportation chip). Armor I don't have hotkeyed, just icons on the desktop, so I don't have to go searching through inventory to find the pieces (a friend takes like 5 minutes to get his armor on because of that). Hopefully that helps a little bit more.
If you "hide" icons (not dashboard) remember that to bring them back you have to hit "Y" and then find the button again in action library. That took me a bit to "remember". Tippin'
That guys makes some very helpful videos. I made icons for all my weapons and tools about 7 of then right under the default ones on the top left. Very neat and tidy. I hated always having to open the inventory for everything.
I put those both on the keyboard as well... But I'm pretty sure (without looking, that is) that you can hide/unhide both from the right-click menu... But the computer isn't where I can look at the moment...
