    Thank you for the reply, of course i understand that those riptors need to go somewhere, and that there is always someone going to be disappointed, i was trying to impress upon you that it is not just someone. While it is true that there are minerals everywhere what is important to how a miner "works" in entropia universe is what is the distribution in a given area, and this is not uniform, for example does the resource distribution justify me or others using higher lvl amps and spending more ped per drop. A miner like pig who always uses higher lvl amps seems to think that arkadia does not justify spending at the rate he does as much as it did before, this i think is a issue for the success of your planet.

    I really do not understand the level of response in this thread from people who do not mine, i have been playing entropia since 2006, i am lvl 50+ in some of my hunting professions, i can kill riptors, i do have the armour to handle them (bear/boar (L) with 5b's), if i want to hunt i can hunt, i just dont want to kill X amount of mobs for every claim i dig up and i thought it would be useful feedback for the devs to know that these riptor spawns, in some places, cover popular mining areas.

    Fallen, as I said in the previous post that you quoted,

    There is a reason that ores n enmatters have high mu. The particular spawn your talking about is not even dense for the most part. if your talking about the area where they are mixed with tiarak's. If there is another location, please let me know where it is.

    I don't know how you came to the opinion that I am not a miner, but that would be inccorect.

    But lets analyze what you said.

    its a good minining area.

    If I were dev's I would put mobs on popular mining areas for 2 reasons. 1. I dont want them over mined, and 2. If they give good mining returns that working for it by killing some mobs is good for the economy as a whole. If it were so easy to just drop for pyrite on other planets for example and no risk of getting pk'd the mu would be garbage,

    Havent you seen how high nik skyrocketed due to rarity.

    Adding mobs is just another way of creating rarity.

    You may be able to kill those riptors, but surely there are alot of noob miners that cannot. What does that mean in the long run......
    You have a better chanse at getting better loot in those areas since they wont be over mined.

    Did I miss anything?

    on another note. if you really wanna see what a dense spawn of riptor look like, go check out the stalker spawn. It is unhuntable practically. You must hunt from the edges of the spawn, you cant go inside, If the spawn you were talking of was like that then i would give u my support 100% on some kinda change, but if its the spawn I think it is, its hardly as dense as you protrayed it to be.

    As for you giving feedback. Please by all means do that. I just gave my 2 pec on the issue and offered a solution as well. If you look back, I did point out I am a hunter for hire. Please continue to give feedback. I dont make any decisions here, I just say my opinion and share my experiences.

    That would make sense (though I would not agree), but if Dave is considering moving them, I guess that is not the original reason for placing those spawns. And I dont like the concept that for finding good resources/spots you NEED to be a good hunter too; for comparison, would it make sense if you were able to kill korwils only if you crafted your own guns demonstrating your good crafting skills?

    I'm not the biggest miner on Ark, but I think I'm one of the most active. Mining on Ark, for me, has been preferable so far because there is no need of the extra decay that you *always* need on Caly for getting rid of occasional mobs. This compensates the lack of buyers/orders.

    If mob spawns will enlarge too much, situation will have to be reconsidered.

    Just a hint. Arkadia has GIGANTIC spawns (think about korwils on north-west, yuka on north-east just to name two)... are they really needed so big? Are there so many hunters to justify those area fully filled of mobs? Dont think so, at this point...

    Just a thought here (please don't shoot the messenger) but for example, in MindArks dev notes2 you will see this quote (bold is mine): "this article will focus on ways to become more efficient in Entropia Universe’s most popular profession, hunting." So, the hunting profession is where Entropia makes the most income from out of the three main professions. Logic says that hunting and mob spawns will therefore always take priority over the other two professions in both the platform and the PP devs planning. This is in no way hunters vs miners individually or as a group, it is just the reality of the game and the economy and how the different professions are viewed from the business end of it all. My own personal experience in gaming is that this model is the norm in most mmos as well, not unique to EU.

    In the first year Arkadia has been praised highly by hunters for the spawns, and also by miners for the many 'clear' areas for mining, but the planet is still growing, still being actively developed and yes, there will be more new mobs and more places will be needed to spawn them, yet the devs can't just be making new areas of terrain to do that in all the time, they want to first take as much advantage as they can of the map they already have, which is quite large for a new planet really. It's (as usual) wonderful the dev team listens to and acts on our feedback when they can, but as Dave said basically there is only so much they can do to accommodate two different professions that use the same spaces on the map (or want to), as players we have to be able to adjust and understand they can't always do this and they would never be able to simply create a spawn that would make everyone happy. In this case, as a hunter, I'd say if they feel they must thin or move the smaller Riptor spawn to work with the miners who used that spot before the mob existed, then the too large and dense spawns of the bigger Riptors should be adjusted as well for the hunters who are not super uber to withstand many Stalkers at the same time on them. This new mob is an important one really, Arkadia's atrox roughly, so the smaller ones must be plentiful and easy to get to as well, so if they do decide to change the spawn I'd rather they moved them than thin them for sure, but to move a spawn to another location would also be an action only to be taken if serious economy problems were being caused by the existing location (rare ores under the spawn that can't be found much elsewhere for example, and of course that depends on whether or not the dev team even knows what resources are under them or if that's MA).

    I'm not sure why people hunt atrox so much.... they're certainly not economical and as far as I can tell the loot is bad. I suppose it's because everybody hunts them so people see large ATHs off them, so more people hunt them, and around it goes. I'd like to think Arkadians are a bit smarter than that.

    But here I am equating Riptor to Atrox... Riptors are better--they have interesting hides that could retain some MU (if the BPs get out there), plus, they look and act cooler than Atrox.

    I do agree with the poster above who mentioned that many of our spawns are unnecessarily huge. And I'm primarily a hunter (though more equally split between the three professions currently).
