ATTENTION APARTMENT OWNERS
Here's your chance to get free additional item points for your apartments!

Arkadia Studios is giving away bonus item points for Arkadia's best decorated apartments. This competition is open to all Arkadia apartment owners only. Simply send in the best screenshot you have of your home and post your entry here.

• Four categories are available for you to choose to take part in. They are,
  • Party Pad (the best place to throw a party)
  • Stylish Suite (the most beautifully designed, elegant, modern-looking apartment layout)
  • No Place Like Home (the place the judges would most like to retire to for some relaxation at the end of a long day's skilling.)
  • Rooftop Madness (a broad category, open to your imagination. Most impressive rooftop layout wins!）
• Each apartment is only entitled to be in one Category. Same rules apply for rooftop apartment owners. If you have decided to take part in the "Rooftop Madness" category, you are ineligible to enter in the other categories.
• Only one screenshot per apartment per Category.
  
• If you own multiple apartments, each apartment can be registered in a different Category.
• Some areas in the apartments do not allow you to hang items, so do utilise the areas that do in your screenshots.
• Rooftop pictures can only be used in the "Rooftop Madness" Category.
• Please include the category you are participating in and your apartment's block and unit level, followed by the screenshot of your apartment.

Rules:
- Once you have submitted your FINAL entry, you are not permitted to add/remove/move items currently in your apartment. We need the apartment to look the same as the screenshot to verify the authenticity. You may, however, replace your picture entry (not start a new post) before the closing date of the competition.

- Cyrus, Arkadia's Community Manager, will be going around to check the authenticity of the top 5 screenshots selected by Arkadia Studios for each category after the closing date of the competition. Once Cyrus has checked that entries are legitimate, he will post it on the forum. You may then go ahead to redecorate your apartment again if you wish

- The closing date for the submission of your screenshot is the 17th June.

- Arkadia Studios will be working with Social Type's Entropia Emissary Program for this competition. The top 5 pictures selected by Arkadia Studios for each category will then be placed on the Emissary program for a duration of 2 weeks for the public to vote. The winner will be the one with the most votes/likes.

- Arkadia Studios reserve the right to disqualify entries that do not adhere to the rules and instructions stated above.

Prizes for each category:
1st place - 50 additional item points
2nd place - 40 additional item points
3rd place - 30 additional item points
4th place - 20 additional item points
5th place - 10 additional item points

All top 5 finalists will also receive a Platinum membership on the forum. If a current winner is ALREADY a Platinum member, they will get another year subscription for free.

Tips on how to make your picture submission look nice.
* It is good to have avatars/crowds in your screenshot entry. A bare apartment depicts a dull and lonely mood.
* Please disable the user interface before you take your screenshot. To disable the user interface, search for Dashboard and Desktop Icons in the edit panel. You can learn more about the edit panel here.
* Please ensure there is adequate lighting in your apartment. We can't judge if we can't see anything

 

Question is rooftop only able to participate Rooftop Madness or can I use the picture of my rooftop to participate Party Pad?
and the additional item points is inside 25 and rooftop 25 or can i choose add all 50 additional item points to rooftop only?

(1) You can only use rooftop pictures to participate in "Rooftop Madness", not the other categories. I will make it clearer in the OP.
(2) Winners who are rooftop owners can choose how they would like to allocate their item points (Interior or Rooftop).

 

So one screenshot only, can I clip in 3 shots in one pic to show the whole apt? or is it just simple choose one view only?

It's just one view in the screenshot. No clipping required nor allowed. Hope this clears.

Do we use only Arkadian furniture? or are we allowed to use furniture from other planets without discrimination?

 

We allow all imports in this screenshot competition, just as long as it doesn't crash our server. So yes George, all furniture are allowed.

 

I'm not familiar with this program. When it says "the public to vote" who is the public? is it existing players signed upto the emissary program? or new players?

By the looks of it it seems to be a competition based not on merit but on popularity i.e. how many friends you have who can vote for you. Doesn't matter what intentions you have or had inevitably voting type competitions end up like that.

I like the idea (mainly, because MA failed in doing the same for shop owners years ago).
Just in case I woudl win something, is it automatically applied to the apartment that wins? I would ofc prefer to get the item slots in the otudoor area of my shops... if possible.

 

If someone had a computer that didn't play EU well on high/very high graphics settings could they just have a friend take the ss for them to enter or would they need to visit a friend with better computer to take their own shot?

Just saying, there will be some new furniture in next update, but you can replace your picture entry before the closing date anyway

 

Only thing missing is a bed. I focus on my art collection.

 

Hi Smoerble, an event for shopowners will come soon. The item points in this event may only be applied to the apartment.

 

Remember to submit your screenshot as there's less than a week to go now.

 

those new sooto containers/urns would surely look the part keep an eye out on arkadia auction.
