Hoping I can get a little help with this. What size picture file can I upload? I was using Fraps and saving pictures in BMP format but when I went to upload them the system sas they are to big. Is there an easy way to shrink them and if so to what size?

    Thanks for help

    Hi RR1

ideally you would save your images as either JPG or PNG. BMP files are HUGE in file size, while JPG are smaller due to the compression.

If you open the image up in Paint or some other imaging program and save as a JPG you should be able to upload them with no problem.

On a side note, if you post links to them, your posts will be placed in the moderation queue because you have less than 6 posts, so just use the attachment feature available in the "Go Advanced" reply area.

    I hope this helps.

You can set up FRAPS to save your screenshots as jpg, this way you will not have to edit them yourself.

And for editing images try XnView (http://www.xnview.com) free to use and it can do all of the things needed for the purpose of uploading images here (re-size, crop, change extension, etc.)

Fraps only saves as BMP when using the unregistered "trial" version.

For just saving and resizing images, I would recommend Paint.NET (http://www.getpaint.net) -- great for just about any image editing project.
