    Hi,

as i looked at me rocktropia thing parka today I thought it be very nice to have interactive clothes.

Like with the rocktropia parka you could choose to but the hood on your head or let it hang from your back.

Or Jackets in general where people could choose to close the zip or let the jacket open.

Or pants where people can choose to scroll the legs up to the knees or wear it normally.

Or the caps. caps where you can choose to wear it to front or let it show backwards.

I thought it be nice if the appearence of a avatar could be more personally customizable. I dont really know any other game which have such. It could be one more specialty in EU.

Is such thing possible in general or is the engine just capable to make complete different seperates clothes for each condition?

    ty

Yes! the Cryengine can do that! :) the hat would be easy! just some clever scripting! the other stuff like the zipper or pants! could all be done with applying animation to the model before exporting into the cryengine' and a little scripting would need to be done so the engine knows how to behave when you want to unzip your jacket for example :).......so yeah! great idea! they should do it........

Great idea Silvia, I am still waiting for "The Thing" cloths to be changed from L to UL, I read someplace on RT forum this was in the works.

That is possible with the engine, think about also making the clothes react to the elements.

For example, during a fight you bleed as well as the animal if its a melee fight that is, why not show bloody clothes / armor for a few ingame hours or until you repair or "clean" your gear. Bloody gear during a hunt could be a fun thing. So you're out hunting non aggresive plant eaters but now your all covered in their blood... sounds like you would be a good target for a larger meat eater since your covered in bait! LOL.

Also you could make the armor show damage so as it gets beat up it would look really bad.

You could even show your avatar's breath in the colder climates. The possibilities are vast with this engine.

ye i downloaded me the cryengine 3 free SDK and is great thing. is like a paint tool just more 3d element and such.

i made a land within 30 minutes and had made ground which get destroyed when i shot with a gun at it =)

is pretty much function and on first view is very complex but the more you play with it the more it get familiar like using paint tools.

i just have not enough time to get deeper into it =(

it be nice to have clothes which move while you walk like the new hairs of the avatars.

the thing clothes i heared wont be changed to UL =( there will be new blueprints for a new version to craft.

Hi! Well! really any modern sdk can do anything the cryenigne can! like quest3D or the UDK (unreal enigne) unity3D ect. basically the effects people are suggesting blood or damage on clothes and armor\movement of clothing in wind are all determined in an external program so! example> blood\damage on clothes and armor would be done with textures that one could make using photoshop or other program! (i personally prefer photoshop when making textures! tho' there is gimp and many others) and if you wanted stuff like hair and clothes waving in the wind then that could be easily done by applying animation to the mesh in 3Ds max (or any other 3D engine like CINEMA 4D\ daz hexagon \ and even google sketchup dose animation now) also you can set up animations in the cryengine! though this can also be done in the UDK and other engines i have mentioned previously! i wont go into a lot of details as to how to make textures and animation though! to set animations your mesh needs bones and to make clothes\armor get bloody or dirty you need many texture layers... so! to put it simply the engine is just basically that!! to run whatever you put into it..........

    well hm yes.

i had a look at the gamebryo engine which has been inside EU before cryengine.

fallout3 is made with the engine and is very successfull role playing game with lots of items , weapons, crafting system, physics and such.
the graphic also is very great and detailed. theres some endday mood around all places, good storyline.

it has been game of the year back then and the game also offer a module for download content.
so its possible to update the game with extended storylines and new content all over like eu also has.

clothes system there is also very widely ranged. alot different things to aqcuire.

Yeah! personally i find the gamebryo engine great to work with very easy interface and Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim looks incredible! as dose FO3\FNV\Oblivion and in my opinion the gamebryo engine is far more stable than the cryenigne could ever hope to be! and again is just easier to work with!! if your thinking of playing around with the gamebryo engine start at http://www.nexusmods.com/ everything you could need and more!! and i would also highly recommend the UDK (unreal engine) http://udk.com/ another engine that has awesome support! easy to work with and great fun!!! and finally check out google sketchup! http://sketchup.google.com/ good for learning 3d modelling! the theory and practice...........................
