Let me start by saying I have been a Calypso avatar for just over 5 years. So now let me tell you of my arrival on Arkadia. Upon arrival at Arkadia I asked in local chat about how I start the 'hoverpod' mission and was instantly and politely told this by a nice Arkadian avatar... "Existing colonists are invited to visit the exquisite new location northwest of Resolute Firebase where new arrivals will begin in future, at the coordinates 30180, 18040. Speaking to the Barman in the Arrival Lounge there will begin the ACA missions. The journey that follows will reveal an array of new items including the first Arkadian vehicle, and involves groups such as the Imperial Federal Navy (IFN), the Archaeological Society, Herman Industries, Lorika Tek and IFN Medical." I went, I saw and I followed and all I can say is WOW! Oh WOW! What a fracking brilliant introduction to EU Arkadia has created for newcomers. Arkadia have got it spot on, they lead you through the process in the actual game environment, not some sanitised 'noob' area. Then they give you loads of freebies to try out and it is just so seamless that at the end you find yourself in the game completely mentally and physically equipped to play Arkadia... Fracking brilliant 10/10... Calypso team has a LOT to learn from Arkadia team. Huge Gratz to Dave Dobson and the Arkadia team. I might be staying on Arkadia for a while yet.
The A-Team, as we call them, are constantly in contact with us players, and very often take note of our issues in game or via the forum. I believe this in itself played a major role on player feedback and the A-Team's quickness in addressing player issues. jc
Good to hear Nobleone Its because of things like this that I made Arkadia my new home planet. Player feedback is always appriciated by them. Btw you a BSG fan ?
i think a big part of that too though is our small and close community that really does work together. We try not to be so negative when things do go wrong. But we also have seen how things get fixed pretty quick and like Davids comment today about the hoverpods we dont get left in the dark to often. So i think it kinda works because 1st A-team communicates well which keeps the players minds in a postive way and we dont get fustrated over time. So as long as this continues we should do well. I think Calypso with the changes of people and companies like when SEE took over for there short time especialy things got very messy and it's hard for them especially when they do huge screw ups like the HUSSK to gain any trust and understanding from there players.

@ Fopsie - Yes I agree that constant and immediate feedback to paying customers is what differentiates one business from another, in this case Arkadia from Calypso. It's how I run my IRL business and it works. IMHO I think the RCE part of EU serves to enhance ones emotional response to human error frack ups such as the Hussk, Sand King, Beacons etc that have plagued Calypso, hence the mass of negative feedback that is generated on their forum. Once again I can only offer my applause and a 'job well done' to the A Team. Now I am off to explore Arkadia and discover more of its opportunities.

agreed with the awesomeness of the starter missions. Some more mobs and it could be very well possible i move to ark permanently. greetings and compliments for the A-team
i went to Arkadia with my wife a couple of weeks ago to make the newcomer mission chain and to see something else for a change. It was planned we leave the next day.... that was two weeks ago, we are still there. Seems something there what the A-Team did right.
It's awesome the same happened to me, I came to arkadia the first day the planet was release, the plan was to explore a bit and maybe go back to caly with TT stuff to resell or whatever. Never made it back to caly, arkadia is my home.
This. Now I go to Caly to pick up supplies for Arkadia. I spend as little time on Caly as possible. I don't even mess with craptropia ...errr Rocktropia or NI. -Bemo-
I take trips to Caly for supplies and because I still have an apartment there. I got Rocktropia for Alternative for welding wire. I haven't stepped foot on NI for like 4 months... Haven't downloaded it, either.. So it's quite a bit behind.
