It would appear i have made an oopsie.....

I accepted a Disciple and invited her into our Soc... was in the middle of explaining the game mechanics, and she logged off.... < meh, who cares right?>

It has been a few days, i log in, and have Soc mates saying she was acting like I had an Alt <no way> , and was trying to fleece everyone for fast peds....

I will not ask for peds, without a product.... I do not have an Alt... and there is only 1 Chuck Jarrdhead wholrey.... I do not beg

the avatar was removed from the Soc almost instantly <we have a Great Soc, 8) >, it was lucky nobody fell for it.....

so i will leave it up to the mssg board admins.... i will name the avatar and not feel bad about it.

there is a set of mssg text that will explain beter.... :
    <Link Removed >

be careful out there, trust nobody, do your research, and try to have fun 8)

    Just sad :(

Its like the imposer simply does not realize that he has been busted and continues to incriminate himself.

Same happens quiet often atm........i can confirm 2 avatars who try the FL scam lately with socmates .......they where talking they are altĀ“s from well known players....i guess they search for names in socterminal and try it when the original people are offline.......so be careful with new friend requests.......

    check the picture!

also shows some of the phrases used by such a fraud.
...and a good way to counter them, double-checking with an easy question :D

I've removed the link in accordance with Rule 2e guys. PMing the name to ppl is up to you and tbh I'd encourage you to do this if you think the persons actions are dangerous enough to warrant it but please follow the forum rules and do not post peoples names or links to them, in the open forums.

    As for this:
posting comments like this, baiting us admins/mods, is not really helpful to either one of us. I'm not sure that was your intention but that is the way it's coming across.

With respect, this thread demonstrates why that is a bad rule. This guy is clearly scamming, using Chucks rep to do so. The link proves that and identifies him. Chuck is both protecting himself and the community in posting that link. By enforcing rule 2e, you are making it easier for scammers.

I totally accept your right to enforce the forum rules as written but I believe some rules do more harm than good.

    Regards,
    KikkiJikki

KJ, I understand where you (and a number of other people) are coming from and I agree with what Chuck is trying to accomplish. However, you must try and see the issue from my end. The problem is, where do I draw the line? Do I allow this thread to name someone and not the next? I'd love to stamp out scammers too but we can't have threads being posted willy nilly naming people for every perceived slight in game. You know what a significant number of people in EU are like, just look at the farce that our Pirate/Knight section turned into...

That is why 2e demands the removal of the link or any name reference BUT encourages people to share information privately. I've reiterated that again in my post saying the thread is fine (without the naming) and that I encourage people to find out PRIVATELY what the avatars name is.

I'm simply not willing to have PAF turn into a quagmire or scamming accusations and pointless bickering, so the rules are blanket where things like this are concerned in the public areas. Yes, that's going to cheese some people (and their sense of justice) off, but I'd rather have a few reasonable people (like yourself) cheesed off at me than have the whole forum turn into a steaming pile of crap with a bad reputation. Also, I have enough work as a mod/admin (which I might point out is unpaid) to contend with as is without making more for myself. I do this out of my love for Arkadia and EU and my loyalty to the community, nothing more.

So, to re-reiterate, please feel free to PM the OP if you want to know the avatars name to be wary of and please feel free to pass this information on to your societies in order to protect them etc, just don't post it here in the publicly accessed areas.

Chuck, if you wish to reattach the pic with the avatar names obscured it would be good as further supporting evidence of this persons actions. Then if people want they can ask you for the name by PM.

Chuck, you didn't say, but hopefully you filed a support case with those screenshots and all the info? No idea if they would do anything but to me it is at the very least breaking some part of the Eula (how about interfering with your ability to enjoy the Universe by trying on identity theft to steal from your soc mates and friends?)

That worked for me in the past, but only if you provide the MA time in your screenshots, so they can check their logs and, if everything is as you said, ban the damn guy for life.

Otherwise...I think you'll get the same automated response everyone else is getting for the last months.
