Vehicles Please do not use the generic 4-wheel drive vehicle !!

Last night I was listening to Davids interview with AHR and I must say there were a few interesting bit in there. One thing that caught my attention was David saying they might use the shared 4-wheel drive vehicle if they can not get their own vehicle ready in time. All I wanna say about that is PLEASE DON'T !!!!

We all live in the year 3008 and that 4-wheel drive is from the 1990's, so it does not fit in any way the story line. I also think that using those shared items makes you guys look like you can not think of anything yourself (even though we all know it is not so) to an outsider.

The hover pod is great and something that does fit the time and the storyline, so please do not slip into using the shared 4-wheel drive.

 

This totally. Please don't use the "cookie cutter" crap like everyone else. I'm sure everyone is willing to wait for the "final" release. Stay different from the other planets PLEASE!!!!!!

yeah I'd rather wait too.. Got 2 different low TT hummers already - 1 from the THING and 1 from graduating discipleship.. And i can say one thing.. They drive as shit!!

Off Topic a bit: nice to see discussions coming out of the interview.. I am personally hoping to see more..

 

Maybe my driving skills are deficient, but the hummer is nearly impossible to drive. In fact, it's so bad I think it has to be bugged... it can't be intentional.

If they can't get the hoverpod out, a low-TT valk would be a better choice. I don't know if that's possible, but I'd probably say that no vehicle is better than giving new players the truck. It'll make them think all the vehicles are junk.

However..... if they DO give newbies the trucks, please make them tradeable... I could use more cheap storage boxes

 

Yea. Personally I'm also happy waiting for something different then having something thats just a bit restrextured and renamed.

In the end this shouldn't be about us, it should be about the new players. I don't think they should have to wait to get a vehicle. Can't you give them something else in the meanwhile?

 

I gotta add my support to the OP. I think it would be much better to avoid the cookie cutter stuff.

And good to see people supporting my point. I think that even newbies can wait for a while before they get a vehicle. Maybe even do it like they are planning with the Oro mission, give the vehicle when it arrives to people that have done a certain mission.

 

Or they could simply give out a low TT version of the hovercraft. It fits both visually and practically in the vast expanses of Arkadia in a way it never did on Calypso.

 

Don't know if it is mentioned before, but : use something else then oil as fuel! The one drive that we in 31st century live on remote planets is because our ancesters from the 20th century onward did a major screw-up with burning every carbonbased molecule from the earth's crust! Have we not learned from the past? Burning alkenes/ alkynes/ cyclo-alkenes releases carbondioxide, a greenhouse gas. Do we want a repeation of the Age of Storms on the new Planets too?

Let's not make the same mistake and kill the beautiful nature of Planet Arkadia. In the year 3011 we do know about many clean, easy to use, cheap, highly energetic fuel EnMatters. We don't have to use Oils!

 

What you guys don't like the hummer driving, it is my favorite down hill experience Uphill driving does suck with the hummer though, should have more traction. But as far as the hummer down hell I love the side spinning out of control action the hummer gives. I sometimes find myself at the top of a hill either climbing there or flying over and say that looks fun. Get on top and jump in the hummer and have an awesome downhill experience in the hummer

Call me wierd lol, but guess that's the way I am in real life taking my jeep off the beaten trail... sometimes even banging it up pretty good Rebuilt it from frame up once from a full fledged roll over... and slid into trees and rocks steep downhill driving a couple times. maybe thats why I like the hummer makes me feel like I am in my jeep in real life lol.

 

I still want either a 2 wheel drive or two hover thruster drive off-road motorcycle, with 2 variations; standard 1 driver 1 passenger seat, or optional attached sidecar with a heavy weapon mount. I have driven motorcycles for almost 30 years and I know this form of vehicle would add to the variety of transportation and feel of whipping through jungle, desert, acrtic at a crazy rate speed and maneuverablity. In my humble opinion.

 

I don't find the hummer that hard to drive, but I agree they should use something original if they can.

Dude.. That's not Arkadia's call until MA changes the system to allow something other than oil. A-Team wants to do something different but can't until/unless MA makes an adjustment to the vehicle entity.

I hadnt driven one of the hummers and only flown a chopper once befor visiting Hunt the Thing. Drivability sucked on them both, as it should in icey weather conditions.
To bad they didnt offer snow chains for em 'four wheel drives' rofl.
They still worthless to drive on dry land, except for goofing off ofcourse.

The gunner seat u stick up way to far in my opinion look silly all stiff and how they gonna be able to shoot anything while the driver is doing 360 slides from side to side lol

For Quads pilot the laser weapon, yea great gun but hard to aim for me. So if there anyone willing to give some space flying lessons let me know
